Funeral service for Mrs. Judith A. Hoyt, 69, of Pierrepont, will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton; at 2:00 pm with Pastor Michael Terrell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Plains Cemetery, Pierrepont. Judy died on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, while in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the family she so loved.

Visitation will be held on Saturday as well from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Judy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Hoyt of Pierrepont; by three daughters, Jennifer (Martha) Dupree of Ogdensburg; Jannette (Warren) McCloud of North Carolina; Jannell Hoyt of Colton; five grandchildren; Ella Dupree of Ogdensburg and Shaw, Sierra, Skyler and Destini-Lee Keleher of Parishville. Also surviving are brothers, Steve (Bonnie) Stratton; Donald (Cindy) Stratton and Duane Stratton; sisters, Nancy Carrow and Glenda (William) Hoyt, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Judy is predeceased by an infant daughter, Amanda; a brother, Lee Stratton and by infant siblings, Harold and Betty Stratton.

Judy was born, March 8, 1948 in Potsdam, the daughter of the late Glenn and Jessie (VanBrocklin) Stratton. She attended Selleck School till 8th grade and graduated from Colton-Pierrepont. Judy was a home health care aid and a mother. She married Robert Hoyt on August 12, 1966 at the Methodist Church in Colton.

Judy enjoyed crocheting and knitting, she was active within the community as a 4H Leader, past president and 40+ year member of the Pierrepont Fire Department Auxiliary. Her biggest joy was spending time with family and keeping up with her grandchildren’s sports and activities.
