pFuneral services for John A. West, age 60, of Red Mills, NY, will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Frary Funeral Home at 6:00PM with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Frary Funeral Home from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Mr. West passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY./ppJohn is survived by his wife, Catherine; two daughters, Kaylee West and her companion, Skylar Reynolds and Fayeanne West; two brothers, Joseph and his wife, Katherine, of Natural Bridge, NY and David and his wife, Mary, of Carthage, NY; two sisters, Mary Ashcroft of Indiana and Alice Egan and her husband, Jim, of Fayetteville, NC; his mother in law, Patricia Carknard of Hoosick Falls, NY, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a granddaughter, Addison Reynolds and two sisters, Norma Hague and Fayeanne West./ppJohn was born on October 12, 1955 in Watertown, NY, the son of Lester and Olive Lanoue West. He grew up in Deferiet, NY. John graduated from Carthage High School in 1974. He married Catherine Carknard on May 20, 1995 at Mater Dei College Chapel in Ogdensburg with Rev. Paul Kelly officiating. John had attended Jefferson Community College for a period of time. He worked at Cherry Island in Alexandria Bay where he was the estate manager. /ppJohn loved hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. He belonged to the Lisbon Sportman Club.
