pMrs. Mary Harrington, age 92 of Carthage, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY. She was currently a resident of United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton. Funeral Service for Mary will be held on Thursday, March 17th at 2pm at the Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam, NY with Rev. Christopher Brown celebrant. Burial will be at the Pierrepont Hill Cemetery in Pierrepont, NY. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home on Thursday from 1-2pm. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory can be made to the Carthage Volunteer Rescue Squad @ 200 Riverside Drive Carthage, NY 13619. Harrington Jr. who died In 2011. /ppMary Harrington was born on December 25, 1923 in Pierrepont, NY to the late George Lobdell and Harriet Transeau. She went to rural school in Pierrepont until the 8th grade and then graduated from Canton Central High School. She then went on and received her master’s degree in teaching at Potsdam State Teachers College. On August 18, 1956 she was married to John A. Harrington. Mary was an elementary school teacher at Carthage Central School retiring with over 33 years of service. /p
