pA Funeral Mass for Charles E. Mallette, age 89 of Ogdensburg will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday (March 29, 2016) at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Interment will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park with military honors./ppCalling hours will be held on Monday (March 28, 2016) from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mr. Mallette passed away early Wednesday morning at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family./ppSurviving is his wife Joyce; two sons Gary Mallette & his companion Luanne Felix, Gregg Mallette & his wife Emily all of Ogdensburg; a daughter Micki Cabral & her husband Jess of Fallon NV and Dyan Mallette of Ogdensburg; two brothers Arthur Mallette & his wife Rhea of Windover Ontario, Joseph Mallette & his wife Pauline of Aurora CO; two sisters Rita McCarthy and Mary Brenno of Ogdensburg; seven grandchildren Kori Holland, Robert Ziegler, Kelsey Brand, Christine Mallette, Paul Mallette, Claire Mallette & Gabriel Clark and 5 great-grandchildren./ppA brother Gerald Mallette & two sisters Theresa & Annette Mallette predeceased him./ppCharlie was born on October 30, 1926 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late Donald & Emilia (Drouin) Mallette. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy for his education and enlisted in the US Army out of high school during World War II in the Pacific Theater from 1945 – 1946. He then married Joyce Hogle on June 25, 1949 at Notre Dame Church. In 2002 he received his High School Diploma from Ogdensburg Free Academy./ppDuring his career he worked at McConville’s, Diamond National and later with the NYS Dept of Transportation where he worked for 36 years. He was a member of Notre Dame Church, Odd Fellows and the Maple City Swingers. He enjoyed square dancing, traveling, fishing, hunting, cutting wood and spending time at his camp in Pierrepoint./ppMemorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Notre Dame Heritage Fund; Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or the Richard E.
