pMary Spicer, 98, from Watertown, passed away March 29, 2016 at the Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford, NY./ppMrs. Spicer was born September 8, 1917, in Watertown, a daughter of Augusto and Pia Palloni Affinati. She attended Watertown schools. As a young woman, she loved singing and was a proud member of a ladies singing group called the Four Shades of Blue. On November 16, 1941 she was married to Harry Spicer by Monsignor Claude Sechi, Pastor of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Mr. Spicer died October 23, 1999. Mrs. Spicer was a homemaker and devoted mother, was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and was a former member of the St. Anthony’s Altar and Rosary Society. /ppSurviving are two sons, Harry D. Jr., Dallas, Tx, and John T. (Karen), New Hartford, NY, a daughter, Maria (Richard) Lashway, Watertown, a sister, Lucy Peters, New Hartford, NY, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, a son Michael A, four brothers, Frank, Dominic, John and an infant, a sister, Giovannina, as a young child, all died before her./ppCalling hours will be Friday from 10 am until noon at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held at 12:15 at the funeral home with a 1pm funeral mass at St. Anthony’s Church with Reverend Joseph Christy officiating.
