Rita Collins, 75, of Sandy Creek passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 28th, 2018, at the home of her youngest daughter.
Services will be held on Saturday March 10th, 2018 from 1pm til 3pm at the Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek, NY. A celebration of life will follow at the Sandy Creek Fire Hall.
Rita is predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Lance Collins. Her parents, Austin and Ruby Clark (Gay), Seven sisters; Elsie, Vera, Vivian, Ruthie, Bertha, Marjorie, and Erma, and 1 brother, Austin.
Rita is survived by 1 sister Dorothy (Richard) Guerin, Six daughters; Cindy Francis, Laurie Nichols, Terry (Kip) Balcom, Tracy (Jeff) Porter, Sherry Gray, Wendy (Scott) Smith and one son, Lance (Stephanie)Collins. Rita had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Rita was a caregiver who took pride in caring for the elderly for many years and enjoyed doing so. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Rita loved spending time with her family, playing cards, cooking, baking, movies, taking long drives and listening to country music.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Oswego County Hospice for the wonderful care and support in their mothers final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jefferson and Oswego County Hospice.
