pHenderson- Edith A. Richmond, 75, Summit Village and a longtime resident of Henderson, passed away Tuesday April 5th at the Ellis Farm, Gotham St., Watertown where she had been a resident since March 23rd. /ppA celebration of her life will be 1:30 pm Sunday, April 10th at the Henderson United Methodist /ppChurch, with Rev. Leon “Toby” Schilling officiating. Calling hours will precede the funeral at the church starting at 11:30. Burial will follow the celebration at the Smithville Cemetery. Following the burial a reception will be held at the Henderson Fire Hall./ppEdith is survived by 2 sons, Joseph, Lafargeville; Rodney and Betty, Sandy Creek; her daughter, Kelli and Scott Grandjean, Woodville; 3 grandchildren, Arthur Mason, Bryan (Lyndsay) Grandjean, Justin Grandjean, a great-granddaughter, Hailey Kellar and a great grandson, Matthew J. Grandjean. Also surviving Edith is her 2 brothers, Harry and Ross Smith, a sister-in-law, Ann Richmond Carmon, her special cousins, Judy and Red Callahan and her chosen family, Dawn Vincent, Andy Vincent, Victor and Ryker Vincent and a large extended family./pp Besides her parents Edith was predeceased by her husband, John (Jack) W. Richmond, 5 sisters, Eleanor Smith, Joan Hamilton, Joyce Smith, Helen Rendleman , Shirley Smith and 2 brothers, Gene and Dewey Smith. /ppShe was born in Henderson, November 18, 1940, a daughter to Floyd and Elsie Heaslip Smith. Edith was educated in Henderson. She married John (Jack) W. Richmond, October 17, 1963, Mr. Richmond died February 25, 1998./pp Edith started the Henderson Ladies Auxiliary, which just celebrated their 50th anniversary last month, and she was also very involved with the Historical Society in Henderson.
