Carol Anne (Pierce) Soucy

Carol Anne (Pierce) Soucy, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 with family by her side. She was born in Carthage, NY, daughter of the late Donald and Bernice Pierce. She was a 1956 graduate of Augustinian Academy and was Salutatorian of her class. She then was a 1958 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing with a degree as a Registered Nurse. She married Clifford Soucy on June 10, 1961.

She retired as an Occupational Health Administrator from the New York Power Authority’s James A. Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Plant in 2000. She previously worked as an Occupational Health Nurse at Alcan and for Drs. Berrigan, Fitzgerald & Flaherty in Watertown.

She was a founding member of the Mexicali Quilt Guild and an active member of St. Anne Mother of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Mexico, having served as a Parish Council and Women’s Guild member, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Religious Education Teacher and food pantry volunteer. Carol loved the outdoors, including cross country skiing and boating with her husband Cliff and friends.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Clifford and brothers, Stuart and Joseph.

Carol is survived by, her children, Jeannine (Scott) Chubon, Michael (Melanie) Soucy and Mary Beth (Sean Woods); her grandchildren, Natalie, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Ian and Declan; siblings, Philip (Lois) Pierce, Paul (Kathy) Pierce, Elaine (Edward) Salvetti and Cathy Pierce; along with many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 from St. Anne Mother of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3352 Main Street, Mexico, NY. Interment will be in the Mexico Village Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018 from the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico NY.
