WATERTOWN — The funeral mass for Mary R. Parker will be 10:00am Tuesday, November 13th at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Father Jonas Tondayu officiating. Burial will follow the mass in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 3:00pm – 6:00pm Monday, November 12th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.

Mary passed away Wednesday, November 7th at Samaritan Medical Center where she had been a patient briefly. She was 95 years old.

Born May 12, 1923 in Watertown, Mary was a daughter of Filipo “Philip” and Angelina (Pecori) Marra. She was educated locally, and worked as a waitress at Morgia’s Restaurant for many years.

On October 30, 1948 she married Kenneth L. Parker at St. Anthony’s Church, Watertown.

Mary’s greatest joy in life was her husband and family. The love she gave, and received, made her happiest. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, & casino trips. Mary also enjoyed baking, and her specialty was her homemade meatballs.

Surviving besides her husband of 70 years, Kenneth, are her children: Ronald J. and Nancy Parker, Linda Parker, Michael and Winnie Parker, Stephen Parker, all of Watertown; her grandchildren: Melissa (Craig) Collins, Heather (Jeff) Johnson, Michael (Jacklyn) Parker, Ryan Parker, Ashley Parker, Matt Parker (fiancée Tiffany Girard), Daniel Don, Rebecca Don; and her great-grandchildren: Gavin, Hailey, Madison, Emiley, Zoey, Ella, Savannah, Cali, Caiden, Camden, Paisley. She is also survived by her sister in-law, Betty Marra.

She is predeceased by a sister, Frances, and 2 brothers, Joseph & Frank.

Donations may be made in her name to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, 320 W. Lynde Street, Watertown, NY 13601.
