WATERTOWN — Calling hours for Dennis S. Snyder, Sr. will be 4:00pm – 7:00pm Wednesday, November 14th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
Dennis passed away Thursday, November 8th at his residence where he was surrounded by his family and under the care and compassion of Hospice of Jefferson County. He was 68 years old.
Born in Watertown January 1, 1950, Dennis was the son of Charles and Nora (Cody) Snyder. He was educated locally. He worked as a Core Maker at Black Clawson for 22 years, and as a mechanic for Watertown DPW for an additional 22 years.
On July 17, 1971 he married JoAnne Long at Watertown’s First Methodist Church, Mullin Street.
Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, camping, being by the water, spending time with family, and, on occasion, having a Busch Light (or two).
Surviving besides his wife of 47 years, JoAnne, are his children: Betty Jo Snyder-Mead (companion Valery Baltz) of Clayton, Dennis Jr. and Heather Snyder of Watertown, Kelly Snyder (companion Larry Moore, Jr.) of Watertown; his grandchildren: Jorden, Bailey, Emily, Brett, Freddy, Joshua, Denny; a great-grandson: Nolan Wayne; and a sister: Joan DeLine of Florida.
He is predeceased by his brother, Charles, and his nephew, Bobby.
