George “Bubby” J. Stevens

pThe funeral for George J. “Bubby” Stevens of 845 Starbuck Avenue Watertown will be Friday, April 29, 2016 in the chapel of TLC Funeral Home, Inc. at Noon. Calling hours will be Thursday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Internment will follow the funeral on Friday at Brookside Cemetery. Mr. Stevens, 39 died at the Samaritan Medical Center on April 23, 2016./ppHe was born February 14, 1977 in Watertown, NY the son of Patricia Sero Stevens. He graduated from General Brown High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Vanessa Holder on November 3, 2001 at the Church of Christ Church in Watertown with Reverend Beaufort Pittman officiating the service. Mr. Stevens worked for 15 years at Jean’s Beans as a cook and manager until his passing on April 29, 2016. /ppHe enjoyed coaching pop warner football for three years and played many different kind of sports with his own children and the neighborhood kids. He felt that no child should be left behind. George took on the “fatherly” role for any child that need one. George enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, Nascar, playing his drums and loved music. /ppSurviving besides his loving wife of 14 years Vanessa, are his two daughters and two sons Erin Stevens and Ashleigh Stevens of Watertown, George J. Stevens IV and Derrick Stevens all of Watertown./ppHe is also survived by his mother Patricia Stevens and step father Joseph LaFave in Watertown, a paternal grandmother Jean Stevens of Watertown,and a brother and sister in law Sean and Jennifer Stevens of Watertown, NY. He is also survived by four nieces and three nephews who were very special to Bubby./ppGeorge is also survived by two step brothers Lee LaFave and Rodney and Wendy LaFave of Watertown./ppIn lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to a college fund that is being set up for his children at: C/o Vanessa Stevens 845 Starbuck Ave. Apt. # 1803 Watertown, NY 13601./ppThere will be a get together following the internment at Brookside Cemetery on Friday at the VFW in Watertown. All are welcome to attend. /ppArrangements are with TLC Funeral Home, Inc. /p
