pMASSENA- Thomas L. Parkinson, 93, formerly of Massena, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the St. Regis Nursing Home, where he had been a patient since November 2015./ppThomas was born November 24, 1922 in Louisville, son of the late Robert and Bertha Waldruff Parkinson. He was a 1942 graduate of Massena Central School. He proudly served the US Army from January 27, 1943, until he was honorably discharged on June 2, 1946./ppOn July 21, 1946, he married Helen K. Rowell at the First Baptist Church in Massena. She predeceased him on January 30, 1991. /ppTom worked as a shipping clerk at Alcoa for over 30 years. He was a member of the Earl J. Santimaw Post #1143 VFW and American Legion Post #79. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and watching sports./ppHe is survived by three sons, Larry T. and Patricia Parkinson of Naples, FL; Steven R. and Theresa Parkinson of Chase Mills, NY; and Michael L. and Jacqueline Parkinson of Lakemont, NY; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Ladue; and several nieces and nephews./ppThomas was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Parkinson; and his sisters, Isabelle Oakes and Gertrude Parkinson./ppA Celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, May 3,2016 from 2-4 PM with memories being shared at 4 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
