Bertha Hope Norton

LOWVILLE - Bertha Hope Norton 91, died on Monday March 18, 2019 as a resident of Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility since January 2019.

She was born on June 18, 1927 in Colton the daughter of the late Leo J. and

Katherine Burdick Robinson. She married Edward Raymond Norton on January 9, 1947 at the United Methodist Church in Richville by Edward JM Burston, officiating. Her husband passed away on August 21, 1967.

Surviving Bertha is a son Chris Raymond Norton, Lowville; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and William Hellinger, Lowville; and a daughter Cheryl Rowsam, Newport; a sister, Gertrude Cox, Arizona. A very special niece Eva Widrick, Lowville, who considered her as a mother and Bertha loved her dearly.

Also, two special ladies, Nancy Szijarto and Sherrie Vora who treated her with love and compassion.

Bertha has eight grandchildren, Shawn and Ellen Hayes of Jay; Shane and Aimee Hayes, and Shaughnessy Hayes of Glenfield; Brandon and his fiancé Meghann Malik

and John Hellinger all of Lowville; Jennifer Rowsam of Arkansas; Ashley Rowsam of Carthage; Faith Rowsam of Newport; six great grandchildren, Emma, Hunter, Wyatt, Chaselyn, Kyle, and Dakota. Also many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by brothers Ernest, Edson, and John Robinson and Glenn Gibson, sisters, Lila Mathous, Evelyn Quinn.

Calling hours for family and friends will be on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired minister officiating.
