pHermon - Lisa Jean Doiron, 54, of Ludlow, MA and a native of Hermon, passed away May 14, 2016 at her home, surrounded by family, after a courageous 9 year battle with breast cancer./ppLisa was born December 22, 1961 in the city of Ogdensburg, NY to David and Jane (Baker) Doiron./ppShe was raised in the village of Hermon and after graduating from Hermon-DeKalb CS, she chose a path in nursing, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1986 from SUNY Brockport./ppOver her 30 years as a nurse, she worked at institutions from New York to California and her last job was at Heritage Hall West in Agawam, MA. From an early age, she showed deep compassion for the elderly, spending her last few years volunteering at the Ludlow Senior Center. She learned to knit, do Tai Chi, and ran a heck of a bake sale. She was a devoted Red Sox fan, an amateur radio operator, and a collector of ‘First Day of Issue” envelopes. This, her favorite hobby, took her around the country, usually with stamp buddies in tow, to personally attend first day events./ppBesides her parents, Lisa is survived by her wife of 9 years, Lynda Wyatt-Doiron, her step children, Stephen (Catherine) Burns, Samantha Burns and Anthony Burns, a step granddaughter Ellie Anna Burns, her three brothers, Scott Doiron of Brooklyn, NY, Tim (Sandra) Doiron, of Raynham, MA and Tom Doiron Walworth, NY, her nephews Christopher Doiron and Cory (Autumn) Doiron and great nieces and nephews. She leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her special friend Noah Staos-Haught whom she loved to watch play hockey./ppRelatives and friends are invited to a service for Lisa at the Hermon United Methodist Church, Hermon, NY with calling hours from 1-3 pm, a memorial service at 3 pm, and burial to follow in Hermon Cemetery. /ppIn lieu of flowers, it was Lisa’s wish for donations to be made to the Hermon United Methodist Church, C/O Inez Snow, 127 Church St., Hermon, NY 13652 or the Allegany County Animal Shelter, 716 Furnace St., Cumberland, MD 21502. /p
