pFuneral Services for John R. (Jack) Hollis, age 83, of 3 Loon Point Dr., Ogdensburg, will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Ogdensburg, at 10:00AM on Thursday, May 26, 2016 with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours will be held at 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Hollis passed away on Sunday, Mary 22, 2016 at his home./ppHe is survived by his wife Elaine; two sons Joseph (Marsha) Hollis, Andrew (Karri) Hollis of Ogdensburg, NY; two daughters Peg (John) Powers, Mary Lou (Mike) Tebo of Liverpool, NY; 11 grandchildren Marty (Hattie) Bice, Jackie (Bart) Cutwa, Shannon (Andrew) Brazill, Tom Powers, Trisha, Jay & Ian Tebo, Jesse (Crystal) Hollis, Aleaha, Drew & Ryan Hollis; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers William and Charles Hollis and three sisters Bette Hollis, Rita Montroy and Marion Dawson and one grandson Robert Powers./ppHe was born in Ogdensburg on December 10, 1932, the son of Walter and Pearl (Farrand) Hollis. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1952. After spending three years in the U.S. Marine Corps, he was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Co. retiring after 35-years’ service. He was married to Elaine Aubrey on April 14, 1956 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg, NY by Fr. Francis White. /ppJack enjoyed being with his wife, children, grandchildren and enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. He had a love for the St. Lawrence River where he spent time building St. Lawrence River punts, carving duck decoys, boating, hunting and fishing.
