pKimberly Sue Plummer, 48, of Caird Road, Adams Center, took the final step in her life’s journey. She died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Saturday March 5, 2016, after an eleven year battle with breast cancer./ppShe was born on April 12, 1967 in Watertown, NY to Donald D. Dwyer and Sue A. Rudes. She graduated from South Jefferson Central School in 1985 and earned an Associate’s Degree from Herkimer Community College in 1987./ppShe married Troy Plummer at the Highland Meadows Golf Course and Country Club in Watertown on Oct. 10, 1998. They have resided in Adams Center for the last 15 years./ppAfter a short employment with Niagara Mohawk, Kim decided to start her own Court Reporting Business. She was the court reporter for Grand Jury in Jefferson County for approximately 15 years. Most recently she subcontracted with Priority One-Veritext and traveled all over the state recording testimony for people who suffered from Mesothelioma./ppWhile she worked hard at her job, her true love was working with children. She spent many years coaching children at the YMCA in various youth soccer teams. She believed in hard work and fair play and instilled these values in her own children, encouraging them in all the sports they chose./ppKim is survived by her husband Troy, two daughters Mackenzie and Madison Plumber; her father Donald (Cheryl) Dwyer, Rodman; mother Sue (Kenneth) Rudes, Adams; a brother Jeffery (Suzanne) Rudes, Coatesville, IN; a sister Kim Marie (Ronald) Orlando, Albany; her maternal grandmother Barbara Buchanan, Adams; her paternal grandmother Margaret Dwyer, Watertown; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and her two furry friends Kasie and Kallie./ppCalling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday March 8th at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. pNORWOOD - Mrs. Patricia W. Musante, 71, of River Road, unexpectedly passed away early Friday morning, March 4, 2016 in the emergency room at Canton-Potsdam Hospital./ppPat was born June 15, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Edward A. and Katherine (Webber) Wagner. She graduated from St. Francis Academy and achieved her Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Mercy University, both in Pittsburgh. She later earned her Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh. /ppPat was currently the Director of the Potsdam Public Library. She worked tirelessly for its success and prominence in the Potsdam and North Country community. It has been under her direction that the library has grown to have the largest circulation in the Northern New York Library System and creating a library of the 21st century. In 2009, she was awarded the AAUW Agent of Change, for her commitment to the library and an unwavering dedication to women’s rights and equality of all women. /ppPat is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and James Kearns of Pittsburgh; her aunt, Mary Lou Webber of Pittsburgh; 9 nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces and nephews; many cousins, and countless friends and colleagues. /ppIn addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her husband, Guido “Gus” Musante in September 2009 and her brother, Edward Alan Wagner./ppA celebration of Pat’s life, where friends are invited to shared fond memories and stories, will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home, 4 Cedar Street, Potsdam. Following his schooling, Lorne worked at Balcons Pharmacy downtown (located in the current YMCA building) and the Pepsi plant where he earned the nickname “Pepsi”./ppHe was drafted into the US Navy in February of 1945, serving at Amphibious Base, Little Creek in Virginia. He was honorably discharged in July of 1946./ppUpon returning to Watertown, he worked both part time at the New York Air Brake and the Davison’s Fuel and Coal Company from 1946-1949. Mr. Bartlett became fulltime at Davison’s Fuel and Oil when he married the boss’s daughter, on October 16, 1949 at the Church of the Redeemer, who was literally “the girl next door.” He retired as owner of the coal and oil business in 1991, selling the company to Watertown Petroleum./ppLorne and Phyllis lived all of their lives in Watertown, spending many summers at their camp in Clayton. Lorne spent many summers as a child in Gananoque, Ontario, Canada where his mother was from. Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett traveled around the country, especially to Cape Cod, where he and his family visited many times. Fiacco on August 23, 1951. Louis passed away on December 7, 1990. Jean started working for the A & P Store in Potsdam and later worked as a secretary at the Community Bank in Norwood and also at the St. Lawrence County Treasurer’s Office in Canton. Jean was a past member of the Red Hatters and also was a Volunteer at Hospice. She enjoyed playing bingo and also enjoyed being a hostess on bus trips. She loved her cats, especially “Tuffy”. He graduated from St. Michael’s High School, Montpelier, VT in 1955./ppJohn married Jane Hoover of Theresa, NY on June 1, 1985 in Alexandria Bay, NY./ppHis career was largely in the area of insurance investigation in Vermont and New York, retiring from service to the state of New York./ppJohn loved music; he was an outstanding pianist from early childhood and his skill improvising beautiful melodies continued throughout his life./ppHis appreciation for friendship, country and integrity was strong and deep, but he also had a lighter side where storytelling and mimicry sparkled with good-natured humor. pNed Cooper, 87, of Pittsboro, NC, passed away while surrounded by his family. Mr. Cooper was born to and raised in New York City by Albert Bruce Cooper and Beatrice Horwitz Cooper. Ned graduated in 1947 from Stuyvesant High School and then attended Syracuse University. He graduated from New York Law School in 1951. After attending the U.S. Navy’s Officer Candidate School, he served on the destroyer U.S.S. Mullany as a Lieutenant Junior Grade. Mr. Cooper was a legal officer in Pensacola, FL where he met his wife of 60 years, Margaret Jeanne Herrmann. /ppNed had nearly a 50 year career as a winemaker in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. He began working at Robin Fils Cie., Ltd., with his father, the winery’s president and manager. In 1958, he obtained his Winemaking Certificate from University of California at Davis, to become an enologist. Ned established and was president of Batavia Wine Cellars, Inc., which was part of a Fortune 500 multinational corporation. /ppNed lived most of his adult life in Batavia, New York, where he was deeply focused on his community. He served as a local PTA president, was president of the Batavia YMCA Board of Directors, earned a Silver Beaver award of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of Rotary. He was president Temple Emanu-el’s B’nai B’rith. Ned maintained life-long memberships in the New York Bar Association, the American Association of Enologists, and the American Association of Inventors./ppNed was an optimistically curious and active individual who was a music lover, voracious reader, history buff and amateur poet. In New York City, Ned played basketball and soccer for Stuyvesant and he was on the All-City Basketball Team. He played soccer for Syracuse. As an adult, he remained an avid athlete and sports fan./ppNed and Jeanne moved to the Galloway Ridge community in Pittsboro, North Carolina in 2006. There he continued to vigorously pursue these interests among gracious new friends. He had fun rooting for the Syracuse Orangemen, even in North Carolina./ppMr. Cooper will be continued to beloved by his wife, Margaret Jeanne Cooper of Galloway Ridge, Pittsboro, NC. Memories of him will be forever cherished by his four children: LexAnn Cooper Sheridan and husband Buzz Sheridan of Sarasota, FL; Lyndon Cooper and wife Lisa Cohen Cooper of Cary, NC; Lisa Cooper Rich and husband Garnet Rich of Toronto, Canada; Leslie Cooper McNeill and husband Phillip McNeill of Reston, VA. He is loved and admired by his six grandsons: Andrew McNeill (Meredith), E McNeill, Ryan Rich, Ross Rich, Austin Cooper, and Alexander Cooper. /ppA service was led by Rabbi Ariel Edery at 10 am on March 1, 2016. He worked as a blaster on many construction sites in New York State and Green Island Constuction Co. Glenmont NY., and moved to Morgantown, West Va,in 1971, until retiring at 62. Don loved family and friends. He enjoyed sports, playing cards,and traveling to Florida and Las Vegas.Surviving are his children: Donald Jr.Tijuana Mexico, Kevin, John and Lori-jo (David)Foy of Morgantown, West Va., and Mariana of Pelham, Mass, 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great grandchildren. Robert J. “Pickle” Campany

pClayton/Croghan~ Robert J. “Pickle” Campany, 97, of William St., died Sunday morning, March 6, 2016 at his daughter’s home in Clayton NY./ppHe was born on January 22, 1919, the son of Melvin F. and Adah E. Monnat Campany, at his grandparents home on Shady Avenue in Croghan. Pickle grew up on the family farm along the Beaver River on the High Falls Road. He attended early grades in a one room schoolhouse, and then later at Fr. Leo Memorial School in Croghan. After 10th grade, he left school to help operate the family dairy farm, drive horses for logging, and cut ice on the Beaver River. He later obtained his equivalency diploma from Watertown High School. Pickle’s early employment included the Croghan Meat Market, Yancey’s Sugar Bush in Belfort, and various logging jobs. Pickle had a fondness for the family’s work horses, Dan and Cub./ppOn April 17, 1941 Pickle enlisted in the US Army. After training in Fort Eustis, VA and Fort Sheridan, IL, he sailed to Ireland to become part of the 103rd Anti- Aircraft Artillery Unit attached to the First Infantry Division referred to as the “Big Red One.” As part of the First Division he served as a platoon sergeant in the North African Allied Invasion of Sicily (Operation Husky), the D-Day invasion at Omaha Beach Normandy (Operation Overlord), and the Battle of the Bulge in Northern France, Belgium, and Germany. While preparing to cross the Rhine River in 1945, he learned his years of overseas service had earned him a trip home. Sergeant Campany was honorably discharged on June 13, 1945. Despite his extended role in the European Theatre, other than a bout with malaria in North Africa, he was one of the fortunate to return alive and uninjured. For his service he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroic action in Germany, as well as the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Service Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. /ppUpon his return to Lewis County, Pickle worked at various jobs in the area, and on November 8, 1949, he married Helen Claire Hoch in St. Stephen’s Church in Croghan with Rev Amadeus Burke OFM officiating. Together they raised their family, first on Lewis Street in Beaver Falls, and then at a home Pickle constructed in 1958 on William Street in Croghan. His wife Helen died at the age of 65 on August 16, 1986 after a long illness. While maintaining the Croghan home, after 2007 Pickle spent most of his time close to his family in Clayton./ppFor 39 years Pickle was employed by Beaverite Products, Inc. working on construction projects at the company’s three facilities in Beaver Falls, Croghan and Glenfield, retiring as maintenance supervisor in 1984. His construction talent was often integral to community volunteer construction projects such as the Beaver Falls Medical Center, St. Stephen’s Church, and the Croghan American Legion./ppHe was a communicant at St. Stephen’s Church in Croghan, a charter member of the Beaver River Post 1663 American Legion, and a member of the Greggs Lake Hunting Club. His love of the outdoors and the woods took him hunting with his friends for 60 years to Greggs Lake, and Moshier, Duck and Pepperbox Ponds, as well as to a family camp he constructed in the 1970’s (Texas Road) in an area known as Beartown. In early years he played shortstop for the Belfort Baseball Team, and closely followed the New York Yankees for his entire life. He enjoyed family travel, especially his return to Normandy at the age of 80. /ppSurviving are his three children and their spouses, Marcia Campany, Clayton, Julie and Michael Goodison, Cicero, and Robert J. “Rob” and Christine Campany, Clayton; two grandchildren, Michael R. Campany and Lonnie A. Campany; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Martha Jane Campany, Croghan; a brother-in-law, Eugene Nortz, Croghan; and many nieces and nephews./ppHe was predeceased by his parents; his wife; an infant son, Michael; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Martha Campany; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Bernadette (Bernard) Boliver, Ellen (Thomas) Nortz, Patricia Nortz, and Theresa Campany./ppFuneral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. Prayer Service at Scanlon Funeral Home, Croghan, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Stephen’s Church, Croghan, with the Rev. Rounds, 79, of 222 State St. Apt. #1002, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in the Carthage Area Hospital./ppAlbert was born in Carthage on December 18, 1936, the twin son of the late William and Stella Doxtater Rounds. He attended West Carthage and Carthage High Schools. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He married the former Patricia M. Durant on September 8, 1962 at the Carthage United Methodist Church. He was a millwright for the St. Regis Paper Company for 42 years, retiring from Champion International in Deferiet. He later worked for P&C Foods in West Carthage for 6 years. /ppHe is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Rounds of Carthage, three daughters: Kimberley Morrison of LaFargeville and Shannon Chandler and Dana Tooly, both of Carthage, 7 Grandchildren, two sisters: Patricia Fuller and Lillian Berg, both of Rome, one brother: David Rounds of West Carthage and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A granddaughter, Shauna Lynn Tooly died in 2002 and 3 brothers, his twin Alfred and William and Wilbur Rounds and 3 sisters, Pauline, Barb and Lela died previous./ppGraveside services will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage in the spring.
