Foley, 80, of 8212 NYS Rt. 3, Harrisville, died peacefully in the comfort of her family on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Carthage Area Hospital, Carthage./ppVerna was born December 24, 1935 in Harrisville, NY, the daughter of the late Gordon J. and Janette Kilbourn LaParr. She was a graduate of the class of 1953 at Harrisville High School and later attended the Watertown School of Commerce./ppShe married John E. “Jack” Foley on January 8, 1954 in St. Mary’s Church in Richmond, IN. Mr. Foley, a former Postmaster in Harrisville, died on August 28, 2000./ppVerna worked primarily as a mother and homemaker for much of her life taking care of her large family. She also worked alongside her parents for many years assisting them with the operation of the former LaParr’s Restaurant in Harrisville./ppThroughout her life, Verna took pleasure in many activities including competitive bowling in various Harrisville Women’s Leagues. She very much liked hunting, traveling throughout the US with her husband Jack following his retirement, Tuesday night card games at Kilbourn’s, and more recently, traveling to some of the area’s casinos. She also was an avid reader who thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday NY Times crossword puzzle, and above all, loved her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren./ppShe is survived by her five loving children, Laurie J. Martini Pacifici. He was educated at St. Patrick’s Parochial School and Immaculate Heart Academy, where he was an accomplished basketball and football player. Authur was a laborer doing roadwork construction for the Local Laborers Union 322 until his retirement at age 55. He married Elinor A. LaChausse on October 12, 1963 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Paul Labrosse officiating. Mrs. Pacific died on Janurary 16, 1987. /ppHe was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War from July 9, 1952 until being honorably discharged on March 23, 1954, receiving the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church as well as St. Patrick’s Church. He was an active member of the V.F.W. Post -1400, the American Legion Post-61, and the Watertown Elks Lodge-496. pBoonville- Richard A. “Dick” Lee, 84, of Charles St., husband of Gladys, and a longtime owner of Lee Pontiac, Buick and GMC Dealership of Boonville, passed away while surrounded by his loving wife and family on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. /ppDick was born in Lowville, on April 27, 1932, a son of Augustus “Gus” and Alice Mealus Lee. He grew up in Glenfield, where he received his education at General Martin High School. Thereafter he was employed as a log truck driver for Red Walker of Glenfield, before serving his country in the US Army in the Korean Conflict, stationed in Japan and in Korea. /ppOn March 22, 1951, Dick was united in marriage with Gladys E. Millard at Turin Methodist Church. /ppFollowing his honorable discharge from the Army, Mr. Lee went into the auto dealership business with his father, Gus, who had previously purchased a Pontiac Dealership from Earl Higby, of Boonville. Later Gus and Dick purchased the Buick Dealership from Claude and Ethel Gleasman of Boonville. In the early 1960’s they combined the two dealerships forming Lee Pontiac, Buick & GMC Truck Inc., located on Erwin Parkway in Boonville. Later Dick operated the auto and truck dealership with his five sons, continuing to work at the garage and auto dealership until the present time. Aside from his wife, Gladys and his family, Dick’s great love in his life was operating his auto dealership and garage and the host of friends which he made over the years at his garage. /ppDick had a keen lifetime interest in farming; for many years he operated a farm on Potato Hill Road, where he raised heifers. /ppMr. Lee was a member of Boonville United Methodist Church, a life member of the Boonville Elks Lodge # 2158 and a member of New York State Auto Dealers Association. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of White Otter Fish & Game Club, Woodgate and the Boonville Rod and Gun Club. /ppIn addition to his wife, Gladys, Dick is survived by five sons and daughters in law; Rick and Lori Lee, Boonville, and their family, Rieanna Lee, Mandi (Jason) Croniser, Randy (Renee) Lee, White Lake, and their family, Shannon Lee and Shawna Lee, Michael (Denise) Lee, Boonville, and their family, Brooklynn, Mikala and Mikey, Robert (Wendy) Lee, Boonville, and their family, Kristin (Matt) Johnson, Megan and Justine, Rodney (Jill) Lee, Boonville, and their family, Tucker, Owen and Jett and four great grandchildren. Fitzgerald, at Mt. Carmel Church, Utica. In 1964, she moved to her home in Glenfield. /ppAngeline had attended St. Mary’s Church, Glenfield and a member of FRAT Deaf Club of Utica. She greatly enjoyed growing flowers and doing cross word puzzles and crocheting. /ppIn addition to her husband, James, Angeline is survived by two sons, David J. Depew, 87, of Burchard Street, Watertown, passed away August 12, 2016, at the Samaritan Medical Center, after a brief illness./ppMrs. Depew was born June 27, 1929, Town of Brownville, a daughter of Clarence and Gladys Gould Lucas. She received her GED at the age of forty seven. Her marriages to Clarence Parker, Carmine Appolonia and Claude Depew, all ended in divorce. She spent thirty nine years with her life partner Nick Masiello. Mr. Masiello died September 27, 2015./ppMrs. Depew was a dispatcher for the Watertown Fire and Police Department’s and retired from there when she was 57.. She then went to work part time in the commissary on Ft. Drum retiring in December of 1998 at age 69. Mrs. Depew enjoyed being a representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics for seventeen years. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She enjoyed knitting, counseling people and being the family matriarch, “Queen Mary”./ppSurviving are five out of her six children, Clarence “Butch” (Carol Ann) Parker, Wolcott, NY, Carol Jean Parker, Plessis, NY, Linda Kay (Don) Eva, Interlaken, NY, Carmine “Joe” (Nancy) Appolonia, Rhode Island, , Sarah M. (Tony) Bucci, Rhode Island, a sister Ina “Tiny” Filley. Dexter, 18 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, her dog Babe, many nieces and nephews. Her daughter Suzanne Parker passed away in 1999; six siblings, Herbert Lucas, Emma Lagodich, Catherine “Kitty” Babcock, Clarence “Sonny” Lucas, Gladys “Frenchie” Kinne, Wiltsie “Teany” Wischoff, all died before her. Mr. O’Meara died August 12, 2016 at University Hospital in Syracuse, NY after a brief illness and with his loving wife Beth, by his side. /ppPat was born August 28, 1949 in Malone, NY the son of Arthur and Pauline Perry O’Meara. He graduated from Carthage Central School in the class of 1968. He married Elizabeth A. Rielly on August 21, 1993 in Great Bend, NY with Rev. James Lesch officiating. A previous marriage to Diane Lee ended in divorce in 1992. /pp Mr. O’Meara served as the Highway Superintendent for the Town of Wilna Highway Department for 30.5 years and was superintendent at the time of his passing. As he attended various appliance schools, Mr. O’Meara also worked for Sherman Electric in Carthage for 17 years as a service tech. He was an accomplished electrician and was mentored by Bill Weigelt , Joe Brady and Fred Smith and passed this trade on to his son, Jason O’Meara. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Sons of the American Legion, was a past Chief, 40 year member, and long time financial secretary of the Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, Past President of the Jefferson County Highway Association and a communicant of St. James Church. Pat enjoyed spending quality time with his four grandsons, mowing the lawn obsessively, wood working, NASCAR, traveling, Saturday night party crew, story telling and was always interested in the latest gossip and was an avid pilot. /pp In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Natural Bridge Fire Dept. He graduated from West Carthage High School in 1953. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War./ppHe married Marlyn Millard on June 13, 1959 in Carthage. The couple lived in Houghton, Chicago and various places in Jefferson County./ppWilliam was a plumber for Burkhard’s Plumbing and Heating in Watertown until he retired in 1989./ppHe was a member of Life Church of Nazarene in Watertown; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing chess, gardening and playing cards. He loved to go out to eat. He was a very loving family man to his wife and kids, devoted Christian man and loved the Lord.
