Surviving are three brother’s William (Julie) Henderson of Morristown, Jamie Henderson of Macomb & David (Penny) Henderson of Addison VT; a sister Jill (Keith) Henderson-Kuca of Morristown; several nieces & nephews and his three beloved dogs. Two sisters Brenda Gilmour & Polly Ann Henderson predeceased him./ppDanny was born on April 27, 1965 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late Richard & Elizabeth “Nancy” (Rusland) Henderson. He graduated from Morristown Central. In his younger years he enjoyed 4-wheeling and woodworking. (Tamara Klock), Calcium; Kenneth A. (Terry), Frost Proof, FL; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; a sister Beverly Umstead, Redwood; a brother Wendell Smith, Black River; many nieces and nephews./ppFrances was predeceased by a son Phillip, who died in 1949. Three sisters Mary Brock, Marjorie Guyette, Betty Clement and four brothers, Donald, Melville, George and Robert Smith also predeceased her./ppShe was born in Glen Park, NY, January 1, 1925, a daughter to Harold and Mable Robson Smith. Frances married Ernest W. Nichols March 20, 1944 in Redwood, NY. In her early years, Frances worked at Ligett’s Drug Store on Public Square, the Blink Bonnie Motel, The Spa Restaurant and the Black River Drive In. She went to work at Chapin’s Watermatics in 1954 and was employed for 27 years as a shipping clerk and fabricator. Frances also worked on the Nichol’s farm and helped her husband with his trucking and firewood business’. Mr. Nichols passed away March 29th, 1991./ppMrs. Nichols was a 4-H leader, a member of the Home Bureau and attended both Rutland and Burrville churches. pIrene M. Winch, 86, of Beverly Hills, FL died on October 17, 2016 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast House in Lecanto, FL. Irene was born on April 12, 1930 in Bangor, NY the daughter of Clifford and Marguerite Rich. She was a secretary. Irene moved to Beverly Hills in 1985 from Star Lake, NY. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, FL. Irene’s favorite pastimes were being with her family, reading, and watching Jeopardy on television. She was a #1 Fan of the Tampa Bay Rays./ppMrs. Winch is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Winch; brothers, Clifford Rich and Harold Rich; and granddaughter, Danyelle. Survivors include her sons, Gary Winch and wife Sandy of Naples, NY, Chris Winch of Palmyra, PA, and David Winch and wife Kathy of Beverly Hills, FL; brother Albert Rich of Rochester, NY; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild./ppA Memorial Service for Mrs. Winch will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Heinz Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services. pNORFOLK— Graveside services for 89 year old Glenden E. Cutway, a resident of the Highland Nursing Home, Massena, and formerly of Potsdam and Norfolk, will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Bixby Cemetery in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Mr. Cutway passed away Saturday evening at the Highland Nursing Home. Glenden is survived by a son, Richard and Sally Cutway, Fullerville, NY; a daughter, Diana and Larry Goolden, Canton; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Milton Cutway, Oceanside Village, SC; two sisters, Betty and James Boprey, Canton; Charlene Cutway, Ogdensburg as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Glenden was pre-deceased by his two wife’s, Marion and Frances; his companions Marjorie Upell and Ann Sawyer; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Carl, Donald and Louis (Bud) and his sisters Carolyn Bushy, Vanita Gill, Doris Bushy, Beverly Warren and a sister at birth./ppBorn in DePeyster, NY on September 6, 1927 to the late Louie and Zelia Petrie Cutway, Glenden entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served for two years. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Marion Theresa Poor and later married Frances Virginia Powers. She also pre-deceased Glenden. Glenden has a longtime companionship with Marjorie Upell, whom pre-deceased as well as Ann Sawyer. He was a self-employed contractor and also worked for Skelly Brothers in Ogdensburg for several years. Glenden was considered a jack of all trades, but truly loved to build cabinets. He enjoyed taking trips to the casino, playing bingo and was active in several bands locally, even at one time starting his own band. He loved to play the guitar and sing. Glenden was a member of the American Legion Post 925 in Norfolk. Memorial Donations in Glenden’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice. Boliver, 87, formerly of 11028 NYS Rt. 812, Croghan, passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, Lowville, where she had resided since January of this year./ppBorn December 10, 1928 in Croghan, NY, a daughter of Harrison and Maude Hanno Monnat, she was a 1945 graduate of Fr. Leo Memorial School in Croghan./ppShe married Robert N. Boliver on May 18, 1949 in St. Stephen’s Church in Croghan, with Rev. Amadeus Burke, OFM, officiating. Mr. Boliver died on April 16, 1997./ppDorothy worked hard all of her life as the loving mother and homemaker caring for her large family. Throughout her life she was an avid reader, and especially liked murder mysteries. She also enjoyed listening to old country and western music, challenging herself with crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and most of all, loved any times spent with her family at their many gatherings./ppShe was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Church, Croghan, and for many years was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Indian River until its closing./ppSurviving are her five loving children and their spouses, Alan R. (Darice) Boliver, Ricky J. (Melanie) Boliver, and Scott J. Boliver, all of Croghan, Cheryl L. (Karl) VanCour, and Rhonda L. (Paul) Campeau, both of Castorland; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Millie) Monnat and Stanley (Norma) Monnat, both of Castorland; two sisters, Louise Albertson, of Lowville, and Janice (Fred) Anderson, of Port Leyden, and a sister-in-law, Bernadette Planty, of Croghan; and numerous nieces and nephews./ppIn addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Karyl, who died in infancy, a son, Deron J. Boliver, who died in 1990, and a brother, Niles Monnat. /ppDorothy’s funeral will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, beginning with a private Prayer Service for immediate family members at Scanlon Funeral Home, Croghan, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial that all are invited to attend at St. Stephen’s Church, Croghan, with the Rev. pMARTINSBURG - Mrs. Christina (Tiny) Schwartzentruber, 101, Route 26, passed away on October 18. 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Lewis County Hospice./ppShe was born on July 31, 1915 in the Town of Martinsburg, the daughter of Andrew and Barbara (Streicher) Martin, and attended several country schools. On April 18, 1934 she married John M. Schwartzentruber at the Dadville Amish Mennonite Church (currently the Lowville Mennonite Church) with Bishop Chris Nafziger, officiating. Together, she and her husband owned and operated a farm on NYS Route 26 between Lowville and Martinsburg. Mr. Schwartzentruber died on May 24, 1976./ppShe is survived by three sons, Milford, Roger, and Nelson and his wife, Bernadine, all of Martinsburg. Three grandchildren, Eric Schwartzentruber, Dillsburg, PA, Carrie (David) Kanagy, Belleville, PA and John (Marika) Schwartzentruber, Martinsburg, and three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah and Mary Kanagy, all of Belleville, PA, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors./ppIn addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Allyn, who died on August 24, 1985, a brother Christian Martin and three sisters, Bertha Martin, Grace Martin, and Gertrude (Ezra) Schweitzer./pp“Aunt Tiny,” as she was affectionately known by her friends and family, enjoyed raising house plants, knitting, crocheting and reading and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed morning coffee at “Good Ol’ Wishy’s” in Croghan and accompanying Milford with the musical group, Down Home, before her failing health prevented her from attending these activities./ppShe was a member of the Pine Grove Mennonite Church, Naumburg, and the Martinsburg Historical Society. /ppFriends may call at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, October 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Croghan Mennonite Church on Saturday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Warriner Sr., a resident of 8626 St. Highway 56, Raymondville, will be held Saturday October 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. Raymond’s Church in Raymondville with Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Massena, at a later date. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Mr. Warriner passed away suddenly early Wednesday morning at the Massena Memorial Hospital./ppAlbert is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elaine, Raymondville; his sons, Steven Warriner, Syracuse; Albert Warriner Jr., Massena; Mark Smutz, Stockholm; Eric and Leslie Smutz, Rochester; Michael and Katie Edwards, Rochester; his daughters, Kelly Warriner, Massena; Ann and Eric Jenson, Rochester; Pam Vail, Rochester; Julie Edwards, Rochester; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce and Charlie Reynolds, Massena and Shirley and Jack Chenaille, Glens Falls as well as several nieces and nephews. Albert was pre-deceased by a son John Warriner in 2010, a granddaughter, Erica Smutz and a sister, Janet DiTullio./ppBorn in Massena, NY on June 15, 1935 to the late Albert H. and Ruth Kellison Warriner, Albert graduated from Massena High School in 1954. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1957. When he returned home, Albert served with the Massena Police Department for 5 years and then worked in the Shipping and Cast House Departments for Reynolds Metal in Massena, retiring in 1997. He married Elaine C. Hartford on July 6, 1984. Albert loved sports and was an avid NY Mets, NY Giants and Syracuse University fan. He also played semi-pro football in Massena for the Massena Warriors in his earlier years. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and truly loved spending time with his family. pGouverneur - Julanne “Dudy” Howe Alt, daughter of Sedrick Howe and Margret Homer Howe Crumb, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016./ppShe was born in Hailesboro, NY on November 4, 1923 and graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1941. Dudy went on to graduate from Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri in 1944. At Stephens, she was president of Zeta Tau Alpha, a national secretarial sorority. /ppShe married Warren Charles Alt of Brooklyn, NY on June 7th, 1947 at the First Methodist Church in Gouverneur, Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Mr. Alt died February 20th, 1998 in Hawkinsville, GA where they spent their winters. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. /ppThey lived in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, NY from 1952 until 1981 and moved to Gouverneur after Mr. Alt retired from the Long Island Railroad. /ppDudy was a great believer in volunteering. In Port Jefferson, she was active in the Stephens Collage Alumni, was president of the American Legion Auxiliary for 4 years, and was an active volunteer at St. Charles Hospital where she was the manager of the Coffee Shop for 5 years. /ppIn Gouvernuer, she was Curator of the Museum for 7 years, a member of the Library Board for 23 years, president of the Garden Club for 4 years, and was active in the Gouverneur Travel Club until it was disbanded after 100 years./ppIn Hawkinsville, GA she received her 1,000 hour pin volunteering in the Taylor Hospital gift shop over a period of 12 years./pp“Dudy” and her husband were active in harness racing from 1953 until 1998, racing at Yonkers, Roosevelt, Saratoga, tracks in Canada, as well as the Northern New York Fair circuit. /ppSurvivors include 4 children, Robert E and Genevieve Alt of Chapin, SC, Richard B and Deborah Frank Alt of Southport, NC, Julanne E and John Capelli of Alameda, CA, Rand E and Karen Alt of Shoreham, Long Island, NY, and 4 grandchildren, Rachel Djuric, Kathryn Alt, Palma Capelli, and step-grandson John Capelli./ppA graveside service will be held Friday, October 21st at 11:00 am at Hailesboro Cemetery. pLOWVILLE – Mary Kloster Buckingham, 75, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday morning, October 19, 2016./ppBorn in Watertown, May 15, 1941, she grew up in Croghan with her adoptive parents, Albert and Anna Kloster. Mary graduated in 1958 from Father Leo Memorial School in Croghan and graduated in 1959 from Albany Business College. She worked at the Wellington Hotel in Albany until her marriage in 1960 to Bernard (Oogie) Buckingham on August 6, 1960. Bernard worked for Niagara Mohawk and they moved to several power plants until settling on Sharp Street in Lowville, 1967, where they raised their four children: Jeffrey (Joan), Tim (Cathy) and Chris (Sheila) Buckingham and Allyson Samsa. They have six grandchildren, Chad and Evan of Charlotte, NC and Chloe and Jack Samsa and Lee and May Buckingham of Lowville, also surviving is her sister, Sue (John) Sawyer, brothers, Ed (Carol), and Jim (Linda) Van Dusen, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Van Dusen. She is predeceased by her brother Nelson./ppMary worked for 25 years at Lewis County General Hospital in several positions retiring as Business Office Manager and overseer of Ancillary clerks. She retired in 1995, a year after her husband and in 1996 they took a 3 month road trip across the United States. In 1997 they began going to Melbourne Beach, FL for 3 months in the winter./ppMary was a member on the Board of Northern Federal Credit Union and was instrumental in bringing an office to Lowville. /ppLater years, when her son Chris bought the building across from the Court House, now known as the 1812 house, she and husband spent many hours there helping to restore it to the event center and Bed and Breakfast that it is now./ppShe loved playing Mah Jong and Euchre and especially enjoying all the friends she made while playing those games./ppMary cherished her family as well as all the friends she made through the years./ppThere will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Saturday, October 22nd at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. pMrs. Gwendolyn Rita “Angel” Carpenter, daughter of the late Florence “Rita” “Chick Pea” and Lucien Dumond was born August 13, 1946 and attended Augustinian Academy in Carthage, New York. Angel worked for many years at P&C Foods as a head cashier./ppShe was united in holy matrimony to Gary William Carpenter on September 16, 1978 in the home of their friends, Maryann and Malcolm “Juny” Wetmore. Angel and Gary lived in West Carthage, New York until 1993 when they moved to Atlanta, Georgia./ppAngel enjoyed good conversations. She could easily sidle up next to anyone and talk his or her ear off. She kept up with friends through Facebook and sent hundreds of humorous emails to friends and family. She will be missed for her quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor./ppAngel quietly departed this life Wednesday, September 28, 2016./ppHer beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughter, Stacy Byous; son-in-law, Ken Mullin; two grandchildren, Skylar and Brodie; and brother, John Dumond. Angel, “Gema” undoubtedly derived her greatest joy from her grandchildren. She woke them each morning, cooked breakfast for them, got them dressed, and drove them to school. In the afternoon, she met the kids at the bus stop with a smile on her face and open arms for a hug. She loved them to the moon and back. Gema took great pride in her family and went to every minor and major event in her grandchildren’s lives./ppA ceremony will be held at the American Legion in Duluth, Georgia on November 5, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Her remains will join her husband, Gary who passed away in 2014, at the Georgia National Veteran’s Cemetery in Canton, Georgia./ppEven though Gema passed away at such a young age, she did have plenty of time to develop a philosophy of living life that can be summed up in this borrowed quote by Hunter S. Thompson. Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, “Wow, What a Ride!”/ppIn lieu of flowers or donations, please take your family out for a special treat. Life is too short not to spend every moment you can with them./p

Poore Post and attended South Lewis Central School. She enjoyed spending time with her fiancé and her family, especially her grandparents, Effie and George. She loved to ride her four-wheeler, shoe shop, animals, movies, TV and going out to dinner. She always thought of someone else first./ppSurviving are mother, Georgia “Peach” and Rob Winters, her father, Ricky and Robin Post, her fiancé, Kaleb Morak, brother, Dustin L. Post (Samantha), step-sisters, Ashley and Alison Gorczyca, maternal grandparents, Effie and George Post, special niece, Galaxy, nephews, Daniel and Ayden and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by daughters: Diane Ruttenbur Moore (Scott) and Mary Beth Ruttenbur Goettee (Milton), son: Kevin John Ruttenbur (Gina), brother: Michael John O’Neil, son-in-law: John Hanna, grandchildren: Michael Moore, Johnny Hanna, Kelly Moore Hansard, Phillip Hanna, Christopher Goettee, Susanna Moore Whiteside, Jennifer (Goettee) Bennett, and Eric Ruttenbur. “Gigi” is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. /ppPatricia was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Manning Ruttenbur, daughter: Kathy Ruttenbur Hanna, son: Paul Michael Ruttenbur, parents: George Michael O’Neil and Ruth Fuller O’Neil, and sisters: Sally O’Neil Ellis and Nancy O’Neil Hovendon. /ppPatricia graduated from D’Youville College in New York (undergraduate), and Georgia State University (post-graduate). She was, for many years, a teacher at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School and a long-time member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Patricia enjoyed reading, music, and spending time with her family on the St. Lawrence River./ppA funeral mass will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Atlanta, GA, on Saturday, October 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., after which she will be interred at Floral Hills Cemetery in Tucker, GA./p

pMrs. Gwendolyn Rita “Angel” Carpenter, daughter of the late Florence “Rita” “Chick Pea” and Lucien Dumond was born August 13, 1946 and attended Augustinian Academy in Carthage, New York. Angel worked for many years at P&C Foods as a head cashier./ppShe was united in holy matrimony to Gary William Carpenter on September 16, 1978 in the home of their friends, Maryann and Malcolm “Juny” Wetmore. Angel and Gary lived in West Carthage, New York until 1993 when they moved to Atlanta, Georgia./ppAngel enjoyed good conversations. She could easily sidle up next to anyone and talk his or her ear off. She kept up with friends through Facebook and sent hundreds of humorous emails to friends and family. She will be missed for her quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor./ppAngel quietly departed this life Wednesday, September 28, 2016./ppHer beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughter, Stacy Byous; son-in-law, Ken Mullin; two grandchildren, Skylar and Brodie; and brother, John Dumond. Angel, “Gema” undoubtedly derived her greatest joy from her grandchildren. She woke them each morning, cooked breakfast for them, got them dressed, and drove them to school. In the afternoon, she met the kids at the bus stop with a smile on her face and open arms for a hug. She loved them to the moon and back. Gema took great pride in her family and went to every minor and major event in her grandchildren’s lives./ppA ceremony will be held at the American Legion in Duluth, Georgia on November 5, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Her remains will join her husband, Gary who passed away in 2014, at the Georgia National Veteran’s Cemetery in Canton, Georgia./ppEven though Gema passed away at such a young age, she did have plenty of time to develop a philosophy of living life that can be summed up in this borrowed quote by Hunter S. Thompson. Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, “Wow, What a Ride!”/ppIn lieu of flowers or donations, please take your family out for a special treat. Life is too short not to spend every moment you can with them./p

pJames (Jim) E. King, 81, of Sackets Harbor, NY passed away on October 21, 2016 at his home after a short illness./ppHe was born in Glens Falls, NY on November 26, 1934, son of the late George and Helen King. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sarah (Sally) King and four children, James (Jimmy) King, Jean (King) Ariante, Christopher King, Kathleen (King) McColgan; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one sister, Ann O’Connell of Methuen, MA./ppJim graduated from Whitehall High School (Whitehall, NY) in 1952 and served four years in the Navy. He played minor league baseball for the Milwaukee Braves and then established his career as a U.S. Border Patrol Agent and Immigration Inspector. He retired in 1988./ppJim loved the Adirondacks and spent many hunting seasons with good friends in Newcomb and later on at his own camp in Lowville, NY. His Adirondack friends included Bill Beach, Penny and Gary Smallman, and Steve Piano. He enjoyed Civil War history, coin collecting, Jameson’s Irish Whiskey, black licorice jelly beans, and telling funny jokes./ppThere will be no calling hours or funeral services. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the funeral home./ppDorothea passed away Friday, October 21st at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had resided since 2013. She was 97 years old./ppDorothea was born in Watertown on February 28, 1919. She was the daughter of Charles and Lena Sayer Howell. She attended Watertown schools, graduating from Watertown High School in 1937. /ppShe worked for Empsall’s Department Store in the forties, and retired from Watertown Surgical Group in 1964. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, cooking, and being with family & friends. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Watertown./ppShe married Louis J. Papineau on June 9, 1943 at Holy Family Church.
