pLowville - Sylvester J. “Vet” Disotell, 77, of 7579 Cascade Ave., died Thursday, June 16, 2016, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Utica where he has been a patient for 19 days./ppVet was born in Carthage on November 28, 1938, the son of the late Abraham J. and Louise M. Barrett Disotell. He served in the Army from October of 1956 to April of 1957. He married the former Dorothy Cardinal on May 30, 1959 at Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg. He was employed at Braman MFG. for several years before joining Carthage Machine Co. He was a forklift operator for 15 years and retired in 1977 after being injured at work. /ppHe is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Lowville, one son and his wife: Sylvester J. “Zeke” and Susanne Disotell of Clinton Township, MI, three sisters: Johanne Mothersell of Philadelphia, Dorothy Fox of Dexter and Mary White of Texas, four brothers: Carl of Edwards, Thomas of Castorland, Edward of Fort Myers, FL and Floyd of Glenfield, an Uncle, Robert Barrett of N. Syracuse and an Aunt, Leora Oddi of Kentucky. There are several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. He is predeceased by 3 brothers, Roger, Leonard and Robert and a sister, Dawn Marie Westover. /ppFuneral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home in Carthage with the Rev. Donald A. Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Carthage.
