pLOWVILLE – Melvin T. Zehr, III, 20, of Waters Road, Lowville, died in an automobile accident, early Friday morning, July 29, 2016. /ppCalling hours are from 7 – 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016 and from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Croghan Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in West Lowville Rural Cemetery. Zehr II and Melissa Pavo-Zehr of Lowville; a brother, Kalani; three sisters, Melika, Kimberlee and Jocelyn Zehr, all at home; his maternal grandparents, Barbara and Vincent Heimly of Savannah, GA; and Phillip Pavo of Honolulu, HI; his paternal grandparents, Melvin T. and Norma Zehr of Lowville; maternal great-grandmother, Leonisa Pavo of Honolulu, HI; several aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles and cousins. /ppMelvin was born in Lowville, NY on December 7, 1995, a son of Melvin T. Zehr II and Melissa Pavo-Zehr. He graduated with honors from Lowville Academy in 2014. While in school, Melvin was involved in sports and numerous activities. He was a member of the National Honor Society. Melvin was a member of the soccer, baseball and basketball teams, and was active in the Spanish Club, traveling to Spain. He loved kids, and enjoyed working at the Lowville Academy Summer Recreation program. Melvin was employed by North Country Contractors, Calcium./ppMelvin was always a blood donor. He enjoyed volunteering at the Cream Cheese Festival, working the games for children./ppMelvin enjoyed keeping in touch with his friends in Sweden, Germany and Spain. Some of his favorite hobbies were hunting, car racing, video games, and riding motorcycle. He liked to travel, and had visited Colorado.
