pClifford A. Dyke, 90, of Fruitland Park, FL and formerly of Black River, NY, passed away August 25, 2016 at St. Louis University Hospital in Missouri while vacationing./ppArrangements are with the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River. A memorial service will be held at Bruce Funeral Home in Black River on September 6, 2016 at 11:00 am. /ppBorn on November 19, 1925 in Buffalo, NY, son of George and Hazel Pegg Dyke, he graduated from Black River High School in 1944./ppFollowing school he entered the Army in August of 1944 in Syracuse and served with M 358th Infantry 90th Division during WWII; which he recently attended their 98th annual reunion in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX in July 2016. He was honorably discharged in July of 1946 and received the European African Middle Eastern campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal./ppUpon returning home from the Army he worked for the NYS Department of Transportation from October of 1946 up until he retired in May of 1983 as an Assistant Civil Engineer. /ppHe married Jane (Daisy) Greico of Black River, NY on January 29, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church in Black River with Rev Salmon Card officiating. The couple moved to Jacksonville, FL in August of 1984 where Clifford worked for the State of Florida Commercial Swimming Pool Program as a Regional Engineer for 30 months. In 1986 they moved to Fruitland Park, FL. /ppClifford was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Black River, Black River American Legion, former member of the Black River First United Methodist Church, Watertown VFW, Retreads Motorcycle Club and Gold Wing Road Riders Association in Leesburg, FL (Chapter FL1K), and he was a Master Gardner in Lake County FL./ppAmong his survivors are his beloved wife Jane (Daisy), Fruitland Park, FL; three sons and two daughters in law, Allan Dyke, Carnegie, PA, Stephen and Susan Dyke, Magnet, NE, Arthur and Kim Dyke, Watertown, NY; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Kevin Teufer, Rebecca and Adam Suroviec, Jayson Dyke, Justin and Kaitlyn Dyke; four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Haley Teufer, Aidan and Avery Suroviec, nieces and nephews./ppIn lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carpenters for Christ, PO Box 57, Fruitland Park, FL 34731 Reception to follow at Savory Downtown Online condolences may be made on www.brucefh.com./p
