pWatertown- Mrs. Joan Marie Dozier, age 72, passed away peacefully September 3rd, at Upstate Medical University, where she was surrounded by her family, following a brief battle with Leukemia./ppJoan was born December 19th, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY, to Mable Howes and Michael McNeece. /ppShe attended schools in Brooklyn and Watertown./ppJoan married Norman Moss and had five daughters, Christine (James) Loomis of Watertown, Michelle Moss of Mississippi, Sherri (Brad) Thompson of Tennessee, Leslie (Jerrell Davis) Moss of Watertown, and Sandra Moss of Watertown. She had 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews./ppHer marriage to Norman ended in divorce./ppJoan received her LPN license from Jeff-Lewis Boces. She worked at Mercy Hospital in Watertown for several years before moving to Tennessee, where she met the love of her life. /ppShe married Ernest Dozier, and gained three more daughters, Laura (Kevin) Perkins, Amanda (Todd) Allen, and Sara (Michael) Burris, all of Tennessee. She also gained seven more grandchildren./ppJoan worked for and retired from Stallworth Rehab Facility in Nashville, Tennessee. Upon retiring, she and her “Bunny” moved to Watertown./ppShe loved her big family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. She also loved the snow, Christmas, her cat Lacey, baking and playing cards./ppShe was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Ethel Mortellero, several step-siblings, and her great grandchildren, twins Nathan and Natalie McAllister./ppJoan lived a full live and will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know her./ppThere will be no calling hours or services per Joan’s requests. Instead a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at the family’s discretion. /ppIn lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation./ppArrangements are with the TLC Funeral Home in Watertown./p
