pDaniel Roscoe Crean, 67, of Liverpool, passed away on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, after a long illness. He was born in Syracuse on April 14th, 1949; son of Raymond H. and Doris (Harper) Crean. Dan graduated from Chittenango Central School in 1967 and went on to SUNY Potsdam, graduating in 1971 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. He was an exceptional athlete in both high school and college basketball and was an active member of the Kanon Valley Golf Course for over twenty years. Throughout his career he worked for Travelers and CNA Insurance Company, before retiring as a Claims Adjuster from Fort Orange Insurance Company, Syracuse, in 2008. Dan was also an avid fisherman who lived most of his life in the Bridgeport/Lakeport area, and only recently moved to Liverpool./ppDaniel is survived by his sister Colleen (Edward) Nee, of Canton; nephews, James A. (Beth) Nee, of Canton, and Kevin D. (Carissa) Nee, of Virginia; niece Kathleen L. (Marshall) Fiese, of Virginia; one great-nephew; four great-nieces; as well as many dear friends and cousins./ppCalling Hours will be held on Sunday, 1 pm to 3 pm , at Traub Funeral Home, 7975 Rt. 31, Bridgeport./ppDan was a passionate reader and enjoyed sharing his love of reading with friends and family; in memory of that, the family requests that contributions be made to the Bridgeport Public Library, in lieu of flowers./p
