pANTWERP - Kenneth R. Eager, 91, of Fox Ranch Rd., died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Hospice of Jefferson County at Ellis Farm, Watertown, NY./ppBorn on November 29, 1924 in Antwerp, NY, he was a son of Willard and Laura Beatrice Harten Eager. He graduated from Antwerp High School in 1943./ppKenneth was a WWII veteran, entering the US Army October 31, 1943, serving twenty months in the Pacific Theater with the Headquarters 6 Reconnaissance Group, being Honorably Discharged on December 12, 1945./ppHe married Virginia Ellen Spicer on February 21, 1946 in Antwerp, NY. They were married for 70+ years before her death on June 18, 2016./ppKenneth worked for St. Regis Paper Co., Deferiet, NY, for 30+ years, retiring in 1986. After retiring he renewed his love of flying. He also had a great interest in motorcycles and music./ppA 61 year member of Antwerp American Legion, Post No. 916 and a member of the Clipper Club of the Antwerp United Methodist Church and a past member of the Antwerp Drum and Bugle Corp./ppSurvivors include three children; a daughter, Mary Hewitt, Antwerp, NY; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Eager, Brownville, NY and Karl and Jeanne Eager, Carthage, NY; seven grandchildren, Jason Hewitt and husband Sean, Kari Hewitt, Kyle Eager, Kennady Eager, Kristopher Eager, Amanda Martin and husband Kain, and Shane Eager; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ralph and Evelyn Eager, Jacksonville, FL, Howard and Rae Eager, Greenville, SC./ppIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Antwerp American Legion Post No. 916, PO Box 98, Antwerp, NY 13608 or to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street, Watertown, NY 13601./ppThere will be a Memorial Service 3 pm Wednesday November 9,2016 at Frederick Bros.
