Smithville- Rosemary J. Russell, 86, widow of Donald M. Russell and formerly of Smithville, passed away Friday January 27th at the Samaritan Medical Center. She had been a resident at the Samaritan Summit Village.
Spring graveside services will be held in the Adams State Road Cemetery, Rt 177, Adams Center. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
She was born in Watertown, March 16, 1930, a daughter to Charles and Jennie LaRock Roberts. She married Donald M. Russell December 31, 1947 at the First Baptist Church in Adams Center.
Mr. Russell, a retired truck driver, passed away February of 2003.
Rosemary was a beautician her entire working life in Watertown and later in her home. She loved to knit for her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and wife who loved to cook and bake, and was coined the ‘best cook ever’ by her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Ricky (Cindy) Russell, Arkansas; Lana Russell, Alexandria Bay David R., Florida and; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Allen and Donald Roberts; two sisters Arlene Schultz and Shirley at age 2.
She was a member of the Smithville Baptist Church and the Sackets Harbor Legion Auxillary.
