Potsdam - Randy A. Clifford I., 57, passed away January 28th, 2017 at Riverledge United Helpers. He suffered from Alzheimer’s Which was the cause of his death.
Randy was born on January 10th 1960 in Gouverneur, New York to his parents Gary and Elaine (Ward) Clifford. He was Predeceased by his father Gary Clifford, Mother Elaine McCracken and his step father Rod McCracken. He is survived by his wife Mildred (Curtis) Clifford, and his children as followed Cheyenne and Renee Dashnaw, Randy and Shandelle Clifford, Rocky and Alicia Clifford, Reggie and Jodi Clifford, Rachael Clifford, Greg and Racquel Walrath, Rusty and Rachel Clifford and his siblings as followed, Kim Clifford, Cindy Cardinell, Gary and Carrie Clifford, Jody and Julie Clifford, Scott Clifford, and Tammy Clifford. Randy also had 20 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Randy graduated from Hermon-DeKalb Central School in 1979, upon graduation he served in the U.S Army. After discharge from the military Randy worked at the Potsdam Paper mill for 14 years. Upon departing from the paper mill he worked as a miner, Maintenance man and other odds and end jobs before being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
Randy was an avid outdoors man and loved hunting, fishing, and softball. Randy recorded three ten point whitetails in the 130’s class in his hunting career. He also played in more softball games than any man in the history of the sport. He will be deeply missed by so many friends and family.
There will be no services held for Randy but, in his memory his children and close family will be holding a celebration of life gathering at the Hermon Fire Department on February 19th at 1 o’clock.
