GOUVERNEUR- Connie M. House, age 68, of Gouverneur, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Gouverneur Hospital surrounded by her family.
Following Connie’s wishes, all are welcome to a celebration of her life on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Gouverneur VFW starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be a burial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Richville later in the spring. Connie was born on July 8, 1948 in Gouverneur to the late Earl H. and Edna I. (Booth) House. She graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1966. She worked at Jumbo’s Diner as a waitress and short order cook for many years. She had also previously worked at Turners Truck Stop. As her grandchildren came, she would frequently babysit them for her daughters. Connie enjoyed doing her scratch off tickets and also liked doing word search puzzles.
Surviving are two daughters, Lena and Ronald Bush and Tonya House; seven grandchildren, Aaron Bush, Alec House-Baillargeon, Cailyn House-Baillargeon, Nevaeh House-Hall, Haydn House-Hall, Niciara House-Bowman and Amirian House-Bowman; two great grandchildren, Klyrissa and Kendall Bush; and a brother, Mike House and several nieces and nephews.
Connie is predeceased by seven brothers, Lyle, Aubrey, Howard “Buster”, Carlton, Dan, Ralph and Richard and two sisters, Judith House- Passage and Joyce House Terry.
