Jeffrey J. Prior, 54 of Johnstown, NY and formerly of Evans Mills, passed away March 11th at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, NY from cancer.
Jeffrey was born August 29, 1962 in Watertown, the son of Noah and Shirley Stahl Prior. He graduated from Indian River Central School and entered the Army in 1980 and served until 1991.
A previous marriage to Tina Haymond ended in divorce. He married Christine N. Armour on July 13, 2009 in Amsterdam.
Jeffrey worked as a Retail Manager for Tractor Supply and later for Dollar General in Amsterdam.
He is survived by his wife Christine, four children: Jeffrey and Heather Prior of Johnstown, PA, Brandi and Robert Evanicky of Sugarland, TX, Amanda and Pat Brooker of Gloversville, Kevin Prior of Johnstown, NY. He also has five grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Ricky and Ann Prior of Madison, Noah and Terry Prior of Theresa, Rebecca and Randy Bushaw of Antwerp, Natalie and Robert Powell of Duanseburg, Todd and Deborah Prior of Harpersville, Bruce and Sue Prior of Watertown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be March 27th at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter at 2:00 PM. There will be a calling hour one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the spring at Dexter Cemetery with military honors.
