Funeral services for Roberta W. Evans, age 76, of Peru, will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 11:00AM at St. Peter’s Church in Hammond with Rev. Jay Seymour officiating and Rev. Alan D. Shnob concelebrating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rossie in the Spring. Arrangements are entrusted to Frary Funeral Home. Ms. Evans passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 27, 2017, in Peru, NY.
Roberta is survived by her brother, Nelson and his wife, Marilyn, of Hammond; niece and nephews, Laurie J. Evans and her companion, Eddie Rushton, of Prattville, AL, Chad Evans and his wife, Andrea, of Cazenovia, NY and Chase Evans and his companion, Stacy, of Rossie, NY and several great nieces and nephews.
Roberta was born on April 22, 1940, in Hammond, NY, the daughter of William and Lana Cuthbert Evans. She graduated from Hammond Central School and later Canton ATC with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Roberta worked at Ticonderoga, Massena and Hepburn Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Later, Roberta worked in housekeeping for the Rectory of St. Augustine for thirty years until she passed away.
