LOWVILLE - Patrick Francis Wallace was born to the late Francis and Doris Wallace August 18, 1949 in Watertown, NY and passed peacefully into rest April 16, 2017. Patrick attended Lowville Academy and graduated with the Class of 1968, then the Canton College Class of 1970.
While at Canton he met the love of his life, Miss Abigail Westfall. They married on August 14, 1971 and together they raised 5 children. Patrick went on to serve in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and Civil Engineer from 1971-1975. He worked for the NYSDOT in Watertown as a Civil Engineer from 1971-2009 and retired as Asst. Resident Engineer Lewis Co. in 2009. He served as a Lewis County Legislator for three Terms from 2007-2013.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Abby Wallace, their children, Colleen (Eric) Rosenthal, Jamie (Carolyn) Wallace, Megan (Chris) Kempney, Brian (Katie) Wallace and Michael Wallace; 10 grandchildren, Audrey, Patrick, Emily and Lillianna Rosenthal, Riley Wallace, Colin, Cody and Carson Kempney and Brennan and Connor Wallace; his siblings Stephen Wallace, Elizabeth (Gene) Heidenreich , Leslie (Wayne) Terrillion, Teresa (Joseph) Fayle and Joanne(Larry) Pisarski; 15 Nieces and Nephews, 10 Great Nieces and Nephews; his loving caregiver Gail Stone and an amazing extended family.
Patrick was a member of the Upper Balsam Flats Hunting Club, the Elks Club and St. Peter’s Parish. He loved golfing, hunting, Irish Sing-Alongs, being at the lake and spending time with family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 19th from 4 to 7:00 PM at Sundquist Funeral Home in Lowville. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor, officiating. Military burial immediately following at Lowville Rural Cemetery.
