EVANS MILLS- Douglas S. Quintin, Sr., 70, of Willow Street, died Tuesday April 18, 2017 at his home while under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Born on October 29, 1946 in Middlebury, VT, he was a son of Claude and Loraine Bushey Quintin and was educated in Burlington, VT then moved to the central Vermont area.

Douglas met Theresa Lessard in 1971, they moved to the Watertown area in 1974 and were married November 4, 1978 at the Black River Methodist Church.

He worked as a diesel mechanic at Freeman Bus Corp., Watertown, NY for many years. His most precious job was providing loving care to granddaughter Macie for the past 8 years and for grandson Brock when he arrived 2 years ago.

Doug enjoyed spending time with his family, on the farm doing field work, watching NASCAR racing and fixing just about anything.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas Quintin, Jr., and Kristopher and Nicole Quintin, all of Evans Mills,NY; two grandchildren, Macie and Brock; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ansel and Kay Quintin, KS, Paul and Claire Quintin, VT, Gerald and Vicki Quintin, VT, Reginald Quintin, VT; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Community College Foundation, 1220 Coffeen Street, Watertown, NY 13601, Samaritan Foundation, 830 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601 or to the NNY Community Foundation, 131 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601.

In honor of his wishes there will be no services.
