Waddington: Robert S. Bouchard, 83 passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Conway Medical Center in Conway, SC. Friends and relatives may be received on Sunday April 23, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at Phillips Memorial Home in Waddington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:00 A.M. Monday (April 24, 2017) at St. Mary’s Church in Waddington with Rev. Joseph A. Morgan officiating. Entombment will be held in Foxwood Memorial Park in Ogdensburg.
Robert was born on December 8, 1933 the son of the late Edmond and Victoria (Kinch) Bouchard. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1952 and attended Canton ATC in Criminal Justice, receiving his Associated Degree. He served in the National Guard for four years, then the Coast Guard and followed by the Army Reserves. He then worked for A & P Tea Company for many years and the Nubler Company, later he took a position working for the St. Lawrence Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff, having to retire early in his career due to macular degeneration. Bob went to work as a Teacher’s Aide at BOCES for 21 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Waddington, and a member of the American Legion Post # 420. He was a devoted husband of 51 and a half years, and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed the company of his toy poodle “Ginger”.
He is survived by his wife Patricia J. LaRue, whom he married on October 2, 1965. He was previously married to Doris Belfy which ended in divorce. Also surviving Bob are his sons, Robert Bouchard Jr. and Susan McPherson of Ogdensburg, Louis and Lori Bouchard of Ogdensburg, two step-daughters, Deborah and Stephen Gravlin of Madrid, Karen Wheeler of Florida. His grandchildren Heather Bouchard, Emily Bouchard, Steven A. and Beth Gravlin, David J. and Emily Gravlin, Brian Tynon, Christopher Moody and Emily Shampine. Great-grandchildren Maddison, Harper, Braydon, Lucas and Tyler Gravlin, Alex, Adam and Emma Gravlin, Maressa and Abigail Shampine. Bob is also survived by a brother in-law Leo Perry, two nieces Debi Compani and Cindy Vanvoorst along with several nieces other and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his a sister Betty Perry. Bob’s family would also like to thank John and Leeann Bouton for their help through this difficult time.
