EDWARDS – June C. Chapin, age 83, of Edwards, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2017.
Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. with Father Shane Lynch officiating. Burial will be in Gates Cemetery, Edwards.
June was born on March 2, 1934 in West Pierrepont to the late Howard and Katherine (Chase) Moore. She graduated from the Colton High School in 1953 and married Edwin C. Chapin on February 17, 1958 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in South Colton. The couple moved to Edwards in 1984. Mr. Chapin passed away on November 19, 1995.
June worked as a Home Care Worker within St. Lawrence County. She enjoyed fishing and hunting. She was always there to help with haying, or cutting wood; and in later years to “supervise”. She loved wildlife, going riding to see deer and watching her birds at the feeders, especially her favorites, the hummingbirds. June’s chuckle would fill the air, and her smile and the twinkle in her eyes would brighten any room.
She is survived by two sons, Tress Chapin of Montana, Brian Chapin of Edwards; a daughter, Kimberly Beyer of California; and 5 sisters, Leota Lincoln, Virginia Moore, Maxine Ricalton, Barbara Curran, and Dawn Atkinson. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, June is predeceased by a son, Kent Chapin and a brother, Lloyd Moore.
