Leona M. O’Sullivan, 84, of Mannsville NY, passed away July 2, 2017 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.
Leona was born January 5, 1933 in Lansingburgh, NY, to William and Lucy Hart McNulty. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Buffalo State in 1955, and a Master’s Degree in Art Education from Syracuse University. She married George E. O’Sullivan in 1958 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Troy, NY. Leona was lifelong educator, social justice advocate, artist, and NYSUT art teacher who taught in Chatham, Camden, Marcellus, LaFargeville, and Lyme schools.
Surviving are her husband George; their five children, Terry, George (Julie), Daniel (Jackie), Kathleen (Brett), and Kevin (Jenka); her sister, Lois Cook; seven grandchildren, and many friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday July 6, 2017 from 4-8pm at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, and funeral mass held Friday July 7, 2017, 2pm at St. Cecilia’s Church in Adams.
