Funeral service for Mr. Richard A. Fancher, 65, of Canton will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 6:00pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton with Pastor Michael Terrell, officiating. Richard passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 in Kemptville, Ontario.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Potsdam Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 793; Potsdam, New York 13676.
Richard is survived by his wife Karen of Canton; two sons, Richard E. and wife Jennifer of Greenwich, CT; Robert H. of Canton; a daughter, Renee Webb and husband Kevin of Binghamton; by a step son, Ryan Premo of Canton; grandchildren, Marissa and Seth Webb and Alison Fancher, Lauren Premo, Natalie Printup, Adelynn Premo, Michael Premo, Amara Russell, Destiny Premo and Kyle Spinner. Also surviving is a sister, Beverly.
Richard was born February 14, 1952 in Utica, NY the son of the late Ernest Fancher and Ruth Wilson Crater. He graduated from Whitesboro High School. Richard served his country by enlisting in the US Air Force. Richard was self-employed, owning a mobile home rental business and a pilot car service. On May 7, 2005, Richard married Karen “Kitty” Buckley at the Canton United Methodist Church with Rev. James Brand, officiating.
He enjoyed all sports, especially the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed camping, boating, golf and skiing. Richard was also an active member with the Potsdam Kiwanis Club for many years.
