Our beloved father and friend passed away on Thursday July 13, 2017 in Upstate University in Syracuse N.Y surrounded by his family. Charles donated his body to Upstate Medical Research and a Memorial service will be held a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to American Stroke Association.
Surviving are his daughters Barbara Main and companion Mike Sharpless of Watertown; Mrs. Mark (Tina) Vanwie of Brockport NY; Mrs. Robert (Victoria) Lovely of Ogdensburg; 6 grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Soulia, his sisters Rosemary Barr, Helen Gibson and Rita Langtry.
Charles was born on Aug. 19, 1945 in Malone NY. Son of the late Ralph and Anna Soulia. He attended Morristown School and served in the United States Army, and was a Veteran. In 1966 he married Mary Hall. The marriage ended in divorce in 2004, they still had a friendship and she was by his side during his death.
Charles drove tractor trailer for many years and retired from his own business C + D Heating. He was a volunteer driver for the VA van.
Charles was a unique Soul and very funny. He enjoyed being around people. People will remember him as the life of the party. He will be greatly missed.
