Funeral services for Louis C. Lawler, age 89 of Philadelphia NY and Estero FL, will be held at 11:00am on July 25, 2017 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Philadelphia NY. Burial will follow at the Sanford Corners Cemetery in Calcium NY. There will be no public calling hours. Mr. Lawler passed away on Thursday evening July 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family in Calcium NY.
Surviving is his wife Barbara; four children Cynthia, Timothy, Douglas and Karla; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louis was born on March 2, 1928 in Watertown NY, a son of the late Leo W. & Monica (Mohan) Lawler. He attended local schools and later enlisted in the US Navy from 1946 to 1949. He later married Barbara J. Clark on January 18, 1950 and worked as a boiler operator at the St. Regis Paper Mill in Deferiet NY for 41 years until his retirement. Following his retirement he moved to Estero Florida where he enjoyed swimming, dancing, singing, biking and helping others. Louis was also a member of the Philadelphia American Legion, the Volunteer Fire Dept and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
