pMassena: Clark J. Baker Jr., 68, of Prospect Avenue, passed away on Friday (March 11, 2016) at Massena Memorial Hospital. Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 4:00 PM until time of services at 7:00 PM at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena./ppClark was born on January 11, 1948 in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of the late Clark and Ethelyn (Randall) Baker. He attended school in Madrid Waddington graduating in 1966. After graduating, Clark enlisted in the US Navy and served for three years followed by a four year period in the reserves. Upon returning home, he married Jean Joubert on August 23, 1969 at St. John the Baptist Church in Madrid./ppFor a short while, Clark and his wife lived in Connecticut where he worked at Pratt & Whitney for a couple of years. Later returning home, Clark started working for the Department of Public Works in Massena where he was a mechanic. He spent over 30 years with the municipality retiring in 2006 as Head Mechanic. /ppClark is survived by his wife Jean; a son, Robert Baker of Massena; four grandchildren, Brooke, Brandi, Breanna and Brennan Baker; two great grandchildren, Porter and Avelynne./ppHe is also survived by his siblings, Roxie and Claude Caswell of Madrid, Steven and Kimmarie Baker of Canton, Jerry and Elizabeth Baker of Madrid, Darlene and Charles Bleau of Canton; two uncles, two aunts; several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Clark are his parents./ppClark loved to watch the NY Yankees and different boxing events and at one time raced in the local dirt track circuit. He enjoyed online gaming on his computer and arguing politics any chance he got. He was also passionate about anything related to science, especially ufology and extraterrestrial life. At one time, Clark owned and operated a Texaco gas station in Potsdam and enjoyed the time he spent with his family and grandchildren./ppArrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.
