Mark A. Crary, age 58 of Middle Road, Dexter; passed away at his home Friday August 18, 2017 unexpectedly from a heart attack.
Mark was born July 24, 1959 at the Air Force Base in Tokyo Japan the son of James and Rosalie Strong Crary. Mark graduated from Sackets Harbor High School and entered the Air Force in 1978 and was discharged following an accident in 1979.
He married Debra J. Caputo on August 11, 1979 at St. Andres Catholic Church of Sackets Harbor. The couple has lived on Pillar Point for 36 years.
Mark was a Corrections Officer for the New York State Corrections. He was a member of the Pillar Point Fire Dept. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, playing cards, traveling and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Debra and three daughters: Dedre Breeden of Dexter, Amanda Crary of Chaumont, and Nadine Behrends and her husband Camden of Mt. Sterling, Illinois. A son John Crary of California, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild also survive.
He also has sisters Debbie Adkinson of NM, Victoria Vanscoy of Florida and Rene’ Blanchard of Florida and a brother Steve Crary address unknown as well as nieces and nephews.
A sister Patricia Crary predeceased him.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held from 2-? On Sunday August 28th at 14554 Fawdry Road, Sackets Harbor. There will be calling hours prior to the celebration at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter from 11:00- 1:00 PM. Donations may be made to the SPCA of Watertown 25056 Water St. Watertown, NY 13601.
