pFuneral services for Michael Rose, age 69, of Harrisville, will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church at 11:00AM with Pastor Mark Gilbert officiating. Burial will be East Pitcairn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Adirondack Funeral Home in Harrisville, NY. Mr. Rose passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Baycare Alliant Hospital in Dunedin, FL./ppMichael is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Michael Rose of Springfield, IL and Steven Rose and his wife, Jennifer, of Ellenburg Depot, NY; four grandchildren, Riley, Beckett, Conor and Emily; three brothers, Fred Rose and his wife, Elizabeth, of Harrisville, NY, Jamie Rose and his wife, Debbie, of Harrisville, NY and Reed Rose and his wife, Sarah, of Natural Bridge, NY; three sisters, Patricia Bleau of Carthage, NY, Nancy Walton of Harrisville, NY and Barbara Parry of Carthage, NY; and nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by a brother, Leon Rose, in 1973./ppMichael was born on March 1, 1947 in Gouverneur, NY, the son of Robert and Rosemary Riley Rose. He graduated from Harrisville High School. Michael served in the United States Navy in 1964 during the Vietnam Conflict and worked on the PT Boats. He was honorably discharged in 1967. After Michael’s departure from the Navy, he first went to work at J & L Mines, then went to work for Newton Falls Paper Mill. Michael later joined the Local Carpenters and Joiners Union and held the positions of Project Manager and Supervisor. He also at one time worked for Champion Paper. Michael married Patricia Boyd on April 26, 1969, at the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church with Rev. Elliott officiating./ppMichael was a past member of the Harrisville Fire Department and a member of the Greenwood Hunting Club. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing. One his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren.
