Donald J. Martin 70 of Turin NY passed away peacefully on March 19, 2019 while in the care of his son Michael Martin. At the time of his death he was surrounded by Michael, daughter Carrie Martin, sister-in-law Christine Dunn, and Hospice Caregiver Irene.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Dunn Martin who died May 24, 2015. Carol was the love of his life for 48 years and a day didn’t go by when he didn’t think about her.
Also preceding him were his parents Robert and Gladys Martin, a brother Robert of Florida, and brother Kevin of NY.
Don graduated from Boonville High School in 1969. He joined the Army in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1971. He attended Utica School of Commerce in 1971 with his wife Carol. Don worked at Business Services of Watertown, Kraft Foods, owned and operated with Thomas Dunn, the Turin Inn, and owned a potato chip franchise called Uncle Dons Chips. He worked for various businesses such as Turin Golf Course, and local restaurants. Everyone loved that smile.

Per the family wishes, no formal services are planned. The family will hold a remembrance celebrating his life at a later date.
