Gregg Paul Williams
Gregg Paul Williams, 58, of 49 Rice Road, DeKalb Junction, passed away tragically in a motor vehicle accident on Thursday, July 6, 2017.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Anne Davis-Harmer, celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Hermon Cemetery.
Gregg was born on December 1, 1958, in Oxford, New York, the son of the late Wayne and Janet (Potter) Williams. He graduated from Hugh C. Williams High School in 1977. He married Anne Coloton on September 27, 1986, at St. Henry’s Church in DeKalb Junction with the Reverend Andrew Amyot officiating.
During Gregg’s extensive career, he was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1977 until 1982. He served on the USS Harold J. Ellison DD-864 as a Machinist Mate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1983, he joined the Navy Reserves, retiring in May 2000 with a total of 22 years of military service. Gregg began a career with the State of New York working as a Plant Utilities Engineer at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, SUNY Canton, the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, and with the Department of Corrections in Ogdensburg, Gouverneur, and finally retiring as Plant Superintendent from Riverview Correctional Facility. After his retirement, Gregg worked part-time as a driver for R. B. Lawrence Ambulance in Canton - a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
Gregg is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Anne; his son Bryan of DeKalb Junction, and a daughter Kelly (Jonathan) Zakarauskas of Massena. Gregg is also survived by three brothers, Wayne of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Marty of Portland, Maine, and Scott (Dianne) of New Port Richey, Florida, three sisters, Karen (Roger) Conant of Canton, Sheli (Wayne) Ellison of Potsdam, and Terri Tracy and companion Gordon Lalonde of Gouverneur. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Wayne, mother Janet, and sister Donna Williams Friot.
Gregg had a love of sports, especially the Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, and New York Giants. He was a caring father and always proud to attend his children’s sporting events and activities over the years, often traveling across the state to watch his son play basketball in college. Over the past few months he was proud to watch his son graduate from the New York State Corrections Academy and walked his daughter down the aisle to marry the love of her life. He also was proud to support his daughter and son-in-law competing in truck pulling with “The Hulk.” He loved spending time at his camp on Sterling Pond and traveling throughout the country. He was a proud retiree of the United States Navy and enjoyed attending yearly reunions for the USS Harold J. Ellison and he and Anne really loved their “Ellison Family.”

J. Patrick Meylor
J. Patrick Meylor, 89, of 1124 Jewell Dr., formerly of Flower Ave. W. passed away July 8, 2017, of vascular disease, at Hospice of Jefferson County at the Ellis Farm.
Mr. Meylor was born May 21, 1928, in Watertown, son of John B. and Jessie York Meylor. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1946. During high school, he played football, shot put and discus, winning sectionals two years in a row. As a young man he was a lifeguard at Westcott Beach and a greens keeper at Ives Hill Country Club.
In September 1946, he entered the United States Army. He served as a medic in Seoul, Korea where he worked to eradicate malaria in the region. In 1950, he graduated from St. Lawrence University with an accounting degree. On September 6, 1952, he married Mary Doreen “ Mickey” Mc Reynolds at the St. Francis de Sales Church in Smith Falls, Ontario. Mrs. Meylor died on September 17, 2004.
Mr. Meylor owned and operated J. Patrick Meylor Public Accountant until he sold the business to Jesmore Associates in 1995. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and Holy Family Church, a member of the Elks Lodge, VFW, Chamber of Commerce, the Highline Hunting Club, a volunteer for Holy Family Church and a trustee for St. Patrick’s Church. He enjoyed playing golf at Ives Hill Country Club and Watertown Golf Club. Mr. Meylor assisted the Watertown Golf Club for several years with their bookkeeping. From 2004 until recently Mr. Meylor enjoyed gardening and maintaining his son’s property in Henderson Harbor.
Surviving are a son Edward J. (Maureen), Westfield, NJ, a daughter Susan A. (Harold B. II) Johnson, Watertown, seven grandchildren, Jessica Meylor, James Meylor, Thomas Meylor ( Erica Mungall), Katherine Meylor, Alec (Gabrielle) Johnson, Anna Johnson, Leslie Johnson and one great grandchild, Charlotte Meylor. Mr. Meylor’s son James Patrick “Jay” Meylor died in 1981.

Geoffrey J. Wheeler, 47, of 417 Lachenauer Drive, Watertown, passed away in Syracuse on July 6, 2017.
Geoff was born March 3, 1970 in Syracuse, son of John and JoAnn Cullen Wheeler. He graduated from Watertown High School and was a proud graduate of Colgate University where he majored in Political Science and played varsity football. Geoff was employed with Carrier Enterprises as Materials Manager, North America for the past fifteen years.
He married Suzanne Troendle on June 27, 1997 at the Wellington House, Fayetteville, NY.
As a youth Geoff played minor hockey and was a member of the Watertown Peewee team that won the New York state Class B championship in 1982 and was a leader of the Watertown High School Football team that was undefeated in 1987, winning the North Country Super Bowl. Geoff enjoyed coaching youth sports, including hockey in the Syracuse area. Throughout his life Geoff enjoyed summers at the family cottage at Lake Bonaparte, NY.
Geoff was known to many friends and family for his kind heart and generous spirit, He cared for people greatly and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Surviving besides his parents are a daughter, Eleanor Grace Wheeler, Syracuse, her mother Suzanne, two step children, Andrew and Rachel Powell, Syracuse, two sisters, Erin (Christopher) Shortt, Niskayuna, NY, Megan (Daniel) Mettmann, Midvale, UT, several nieces and nephews.

Dr. Moonjohn Kim
Dr. Moonjohn Kim, 52, of Elliott City, Maryland was killed in a tragic motor vehicle accident July 5, 2017 on NYS Rte 81N.
Dr. Kim was born April 27, 1965 in Seoul, Korea the son of Dong and Kyung Ahn Kim. He was educated at Hahnemann (Drexel) University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his residency in General Surgery and Diagnostic Radiology at the University to Illinois at Chicago and a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Rush-Presbyterian- St. Luke’s’ Medical Center in Chicago. He was Board Certified with the American College of Radiology with certification in Vascular & Interventional Radiology. He joined the Staff at Samaritan Medical Center in 2011.
He married Clara Kim on May 26, 2002 in Maryland.
He is survived by his wife Clara along with a son Jonathan and daughters Julianne and Johanna of Elliott City, Maryland. His parents are Dong and Kyung Kim of Silver Springs Maryland. He also has a brother Moon Kim and a sister Grace Kim also of Silver Springs, Maryland.

Denise Herheim
Gouverneur – Passed away at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon O. Herheim; her parents, Henry J. (Pete) and Edith Curtis; her sisters, Jeanne (Toby) Tyler and Hon (Howard) VanNorton. She leaves her children, Dianne Winters, Rochester; David (Janice) Herheim, Gouverneur; Sue Sharpe, Romulus; Marsha Littwitz, Rochester; and Janice Herheim, Malone; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her sister, Joanne Phelps, Farmville, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Gouverneur, she graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1936 and attended Crane School of Music. She could often be seen riding her bicycle around town into her mid-80’s and made a daily stop at the Donut Shop where she was a member of the Golden Girls. She loved traveling and volunteered for the E. J. Noble Hospital Auxiliary, the Gouverneur Garden Club, and the Gouverneur public Library. Susan McLeod, 76, of Henderson and wife of Francis McLeod passed away July 6th at Samaritan Medical Center after a sudden illness.
The funeral will be at 3PM Monday July 10th at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home in Belleville, NY, with Laurel Barber of the Henderson Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours are from 1-3PM prior to the funeral, and a reception will follow at 4PM at the Henderson Fire Hall.
Susan is survived by husband Francis, sons Ian and Andrew, and grandchildren- Janek, Stuart, Callyn and Alister.
Susan was born in Schenectady, February 2, 1941, a daughter to Irene and Koss Fogg. She was a child development graduate of Cornell University and worked at the Rochester School for the Deaf and later at Lansing Head Start after raising two boys.
She married Francis McLeod Jr. on July 8, 1967. Francis is the son of Mildred and Francis McLeod of Scotia NY.
Susan loved to bake, observe nature and help others. She was active in Etude, PEO and the community, a blessing to all who knew her, and the center of her family.

Currently, Rod was employed with the R.B. Lawrence Ambulance Service in Canton as the EMS Supervisor as well as a Critical Care Technician for the past 12 years. Rod was a member of the Potsdam Rescue Squad and was a faithful communicant of the Parishville Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Rod also enjoyed woodworking, reading and most of all, helping others. Mrs. Seguin passed away on Monday evening July 3, 2017, at the Sun City Hospice House in Ruskin, FL surrounded by her loving family.
Surviving is her husband James of Riverview, FL; two sons Steven (Tami) Seguin of Riverview, FL and Eric (Molly) Seguin of Medford, NJ; a daughter Penny (John) Burt of Watertown, NY; two brothers Paul (Beryl) Trombley of Northport, FL and Roger (Carolyn) Trombley of Lake Wales, FL; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews & cousins.
Carole was born on December 22, 1939, in Potsdam, NY, a daughter of the late Wilber & Ivah (McEwen) Trombley and stepfather Henry Polniak. She attended school in Herkimer, NY and married James Seguin on October 20, 1956 at the First Congregational Church of Ogdensburg. During her career, she worked for the Ogdensburg City School District as a Teacher’s Aide and later as a Senior Financial Counselor at the Rutgers University School of Medicine in Piscataway, NJ until her retirement in 1994.
Carole was a past member of the First Congregational Church in Ogdensburg and the Ogdensburg Moose Lodge, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, crocheting and traveling. She served as the Vice President of the first St. Lawrence County Foster Parents Association and was a member of the first Juvenile Conference Committee in Ogdensburg; with Carole and her husband Jim serving as foster parents for 25 children during a 17-year period.

Donald Gould
Donald D. Gould, 86, of Sackets Harbor and formerly of Henderson, died Friday July 7th at the Samaritan Medical Center emergency room after becoming ill at home earlier in the day.
Services will be scheduled at a later day and time. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Henderson. Arrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
He is survived by three sons, Kenneth, Oswego, Robert, Watertown, John, Weedsport; a daughter Susan Curry, New Orleans; grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters Inez Bates, Nevada and Sandra Marr, Georgia; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Betty L. (Brandt) and a son William.
Donald was born December 8, 1930, a son to Frederick and Ruth Dorr Gould. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
Donald worked for the Thousand Islands Park Commission, serving as Superintendent of Westcott’s Beach for many years, retiring in 1990. He later served as Town Supervisor for the Town of Henderson for several years.
Donald was a member of the Adams VFW.

Muriel DeBuque
St. Regis Falls – Muriel (Merriel) D. DeBuque, 78, of St. Regis Falls, NY passed away peacefully on July 5, 2017. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home, St. Regis Falls, NY.
Born on May 28, 1939 in Dickinson Center, NY to Laurence and Marguerite (Earl) Powell, she often spoke of her early years and family home. Married on August 6, 1955 to Loren P. DeBuque, she was devoted to her family and home. Muriel was an advocate of higher education and returned to her academic career later in life, successfully obtaining a college degree. Throughout her life she had several rewarding careers; owning and operating a day care from her home; became a highly skilled and sought-after cake decorator and was dedicated to working with, and advocating for the physically and mentally disabled. Upon retiring, Muriel launched her writing career. An avid reader, she took great joy in the development and publication of her own works.
Muriel is predeceased by her parents, Sister – Barbara Hazen and two Grandchildren: Jonathan Fitzgerald and Derek MacDonald.

William J. Seymour
William J. Seymour, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home. He was surrounded by his loving family who will remember him as a caring, generous, and supportive husband, father, and grandfather.
Bill was born in Ogdensburg, NY on November 29, 1934 to the late Lucien and Mary (Brennan) Seymour. As the youngest, Bill adored his seven older siblings – James (Rose) Seymour, Robert (Clara) Seymour, Thomas (Barbara) Seymour, Anna (Thomas) DuPré, Lucien David (Janet) Seymour, Marie (William) Morley, and Ellen (Herman) Bova. Each of them played a role in Bill’s formative years, laying the foundation for his love of family. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1952, where he was a respected athlete and specifically enjoyed basketball, football, and baseball. After high school, he attended Canton ATI and was employed at Niagara Mohawk for over thirty-eight years.
Bill married Mary Ellen LaRose on June 9, 1956 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Over the course of their 61-year marriage, Bill and Mary Ellen built a loving home with their eight children – Linda (Kelley) Geary, Patricia (Jeffrey) Bouchard, Joann (Michael) Marshall, William (Elaine) Seymour, Gary (Cheryl) Seymour, Thomas Seymour (deceased), Diane (Matthew) Mitchell, and Julie (John) Rhodes. Bill and Mary Ellen’s devotion to each other transcends life-long commitment. Their marriage epitomized teamwork, perseverance, and strength.
Bill was blessed with 16 grandchildren – Megan, Kelsey, Ryan, Lauren, Sarah, Josh, Krista, Erin, Hannah, Shannon, Bryan, Micaela, Natalie, Thomas, Jennifer, and Kyle, and 17 great-grandchildren. He found joy in watching each child grow. His grandchildren fondly remember him cheering them on at sporting events, sharing an ice cream or a Snickers, and enjoying the river together. His great-grandchildren brought a smile to their Poppy’s face with every visit. Although they are young, his legacy as a fun-loving and joyful patriarch has laid the foundation for their appreciation of family.
Family and friends will reminisce about Bill as an avid whistler, a Syracuse fan, and a chocolate-fiend. His wife, children, and grandchildren will always strive to achieve his core wish, “I want everyone to be happy.” They are relieved to know that Bill joins his parents, deceased siblings, son Tom, and great-granddaughter Tyler in watching over all of us.
For those who wish to pay their respects, calling hours will be held at Frary Funeral Home on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10 AM, at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Jason Morgan
Jason Duane Morgan, 42 of 24892 County Rte 53 Watertown, New York; died Wednesday June 28th, 2017 in Van Nuys, California where he had been residing since April.
He was born on September 16, 1974 in Watertown, New York, a son to Lewis Morgan 3rd and Wenda Potter. He attended General Brown School. He worked for the New York State Corrections. He had been an officer for 18 years.
He married Lisa Burdick on April 18, 1998. The marriage ended in divorce. They had four children: Jason 2nd of Watertown, NY, three daughters: Catarina (Cat), Scarlett (Rosie) and Willow all of Philadelphia, New York.
He is also survived by his mother and stepfather Wenda and Kevin Frasher of Watertown, two brothers: Tim Frasher of Pillar Point, Mike Frasher and Wife Jennah of Brownville, NY. Two nephews Trevor and Keegan Frasher and a niece Hannah Frasher. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jason was predeceased by his father Lewis Morgan 3rd, his grandfather Lewis Morgan 2nd, his grandmother Millie Potter, his great grandparents Lillie and Howard Whittle (Gammie and Gampie) and step grandparents Gert and Harold Frasher.
He was a loving father and will be sadly missed by his family.

Cory Erwin Moore
CANTON—CLARE - Cory Erwin Moore, 50, of 4482 CR 27, died tragically on July 5th as a result of a motor vehicle crash in the town of Sandy Creek. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 11th at 3:30PM at Moore’s Field Airport, CR 27 in the town of Clare, NY, with Rev. Thomas Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Moore Family Cemetery on the airport property. Those wishing to honor by arriving by airplane are asked to please have your plane landed and parked on the field between 2-2:30PM. As the committal service is ending, in a symbol of lifting his spirit to heaven, the planes will be asked to follow Wayne Lincoln who will be flying Cory’s Cessna 182 to lift off the runway.

Born on September 30, 1966 in Gouverneur, NY, the son of Lloyd Edward Moore and Kathryn May Wallace, Cory graduated from Knox Memorial Central School in 1985. Cory worked in Florida before returning to his roots in Northern New York. Upon his return, he worked at Jefford Steel in Potsdam. In 2005 he went to work with R.B. Lawrence Ambulance as a vehicle maintenance manager until the time of his death. A skilled mechanic with a knack for detail, Cory treated the ambulances as his own baby. He knew the “ins and outs” of each vehicle like the back of his hand. Nothing got by him.
Cory is survived by his fiancé`, Robin Lynn Selleck; four daughters, Heidi Moore, Taylor Dunbar, Darian Moore, Jazmin Lopez and one son, Cory Moore; his mother, Kathryn of Clare; three step-daughters, Mackenzie Banks, Hayley Lamere, Betsey Banks; three step-grandchildren, Mason and Lucas Lamere and Ethan Gollinger; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Wallace (Cynthia), Edwards and Giles (Tammy Mantor), Clare; three sisters, Carlene (Cheyenne Kerr) Dowling, Oswegatchie, Ronda (Jerry) teReile of Canton, Brendalee (Chad) Emerson of Potsdam; grandchildren Chandler, Baila, Cory Robert, and Eliza, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Lloyd Moore of Clare, a St Lawrence County Legislator.
An avid NASCAR fan and hunter, Cory was a true” jack of all trades”. He was a member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) and the co-owner and operator of Moore’s Field Airport, airport Identifier 1E8, affectionately known as “Clare International Airport”. Cory had passed his written exam and was preparing for his check ride proficiency exam to complete his private pilot’s license. He proudly owned his dads 1968 Cessna 182. You could not have found a harder worker, or someone who was more passionate about his life and family, than Cory.
Edith Herheim
Gouverneur – Edith Herheim passed away at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon O. Herheim; her parents, Henry J. (Pete) and Edith Curtis; her sisters, Jeanne (Toby) Tyler and Hon (Howard) VanNorton. She leaves her children, Dianne Winters, Rochester; David (Janice) Herheim, Gouverneur; Sue Sharpe, Romulus; Marsha Littwitz, Rochester; and Janice Herheim, Malone; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her sister, Joanne Phelps, Farmville, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Gouverneur, she graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1936 and attended Crane School of Music. She could often be seen riding her bicycle around town into her mid-80’s and made a daily stop at the Donut Shop where she was a member of the Golden Girls. She loved traveling and volunteered for the E.J. Noble Hospital Auxiliary, the Gouverneur Garden Club, and the Gouverneur public Library. Leona M. O’Sullivan
Leona M. O’Sullivan, 84, of Mannsville NY, passed away July 2, 2017 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.
Leona was born January 5, 1933 in Lansingburgh, NY, to William and Lucy Hart McNulty. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Buffalo State in 1955, and a Master’s Degree in Art Education from Syracuse University. She married George E. O’Sullivan in 1958 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Troy, NY. Leona was lifelong educator, social justice advocate, artist, and NYSUT art teacher who taught in Chatham, Camden, Marcellus, LaFargeville, and Lyme schools.
Surviving are her husband George; their five children, Terry, George (Julie), Daniel (Jackie), Kathleen (Brett), and Kevin (Jenka); her sister, Lois Cook; seven grandchildren, and many friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday July 6, 2017 from 4-8pm at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, and funeral mass held Friday July 7, 2017, 2pm at St. Cecilia’s Church in Adams.
Harold N. Stark
Nicholville – Harold N. Stark, 69, passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening, July 7, 2017 at Canton Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Harold was born on August 18, 1947 in Potsdam, son of the late Harold A. and Joyce (Bullock) Stark. He married Cynthia C. Gilbo at the Potsdam United Methodist Church on February 25, 1967. During their 50 years of marriage, they were blessed with four children and many grandchildren.
Harold spent his working career as a farmer, woodsman and mechanic. He could fix anything, but especially liked to work on tractors and lawn mowers. He enjoyed the quiet of fishing and the exhilaration of tractor pulls. He loved his family and cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife- Cynthia, Four Children-Christine and Douglas Judware, Jr. of Winthrop, Cathy and Lee Gonyea of Potsdam, Harold and Amanda Stark, Jr. of Winthrop and Michele Ladison and Timothy Burcume of Madrid, His Siblings – Ralph Stark of FL, Sally Brothers of Rochester, Gary Stark of Ogdensburg, Linda Razis of Winthrop, Kenny Stark of Brasher, Terry Stark of Potsdam and Carol LaBier of Nicholville, 24 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by one sister, Jeannie Ryan.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Harold’s Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Brasher Falls.
