Norman R. Ahlheim

Norman R. Ahlheim, 84, 11679 County Route 125, Chaumont, passed away Monday April 30th at home surrounded by his loving family and Hospice. He was born March 25, 1934 in Watertown, N.Y., the son of the late Norman L. and Mary A. Ahlheim. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Richter Ahlheim whom he married on August 26, 1961 and three children, a son Mark Ahlheim, his fiancé Deana Winslow and Dylan Winslow of Chaumont, Mark’s daughter Emily and her fiancé Caleb McGuire of Rochester and a daughter Gretchen Fields, her husband Steven of Essex, Vermont and their sons Tyler and Matthew, and a son and his wife Karl Ahlheim and Paula of Chaumont.

As a young boy, Norman was active in the Cub and Boy Scout troops in the 1940’s, a member for 4 years of the gymnastic team of the YMCA leader’s corps from 1943 to 1948, and was involved with the National Rifle Association youth program from 1948to 1950, winning third place in target competition in NYS in 1948.

Norm graduated from Watertown High School in June 1951 and entered the Navy during the Korean War. He received his naval education at the Great Lakes Naval Training and was assigned to Key West Naval Center. There he spent two years working in the development of underwater guided torpedoes being launched from submarines, destroyers and torpedo boats.

Upon discharge from the Navy Norm entered Syracuse University and graduated in 1957 with a BS degree in accounting and finance. He went to work in his family business Ahlheim Bros., Inc., a wholesale specialty food distributor. In 1960 he became a teacher in the Watertown School of Commerce leaving there in 1962 to become a tax accountant with the Edwin H. Adams & Company CPA’s. In 1968, he became associated with the Bryant-Eager Insurance Agency, subsequently acquiring the Agency from Mr. Bryant and purchasing the Ray Smith insurance agency to create Northland Agency, LTD. Mr. Ahlheim assumed the Presidency and expanded the business by acquisitions and growth and an additional office in Potsdam. In 1987, he sold the agency to Goldome Savings Bank in Buffalo, NY. After the sale, Mr. Ahlheim continued to operate insurance agencies in Utica, Waterville, and Ilion for Goldome Savings Bank. He retired in 1996 and the agency was purchased by Rose & Kiernan, Inc.

Norm was active in Masonic organizations serving as Master of the Watertown Masonic Lodge in 1965, Master of Scottish Rite Masonic Bodies, and 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Media Temple Shriners. He was previously a member of Trinity Church and served on the Vestry of the Church in 1975-76. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Watertown.

Mr. Ahlheim was also active in many local groups and organizations. He served on the Boards of the March of Dimes, Greater Watertown Jaycees in the 1960’s, the Board of the Watertown Chamber of Commerce 1969-71. He was Treasurer and Vice President and Chairman of the Fire Prevention committee of the Chamber for three years, a member of EPS Associates, a stock investment group and served on the Watertown Rotary board where he was President in 1983 and received Rotary’s prestigious Paul Harris Award. He was a Director and President of the Cerebral Palsy Board from 1968-1974, a member of the Jefferson-Lewis Boy Scouts board from 1977-80 and served on the advisory board of Community Savings Bank from 1977-80.

Norm’s community involvement continued for decades. He was United Fund Director from 1975-1980 serving on various fundraising committees. A longtime sailor, Norm was Treasurer of the Crescent Yacht Club from 1963-68 and served as Commodore in 1974-1975. Norm was a Board member and President of the Jefferson County Historical Society from 1975-1980, Trustee of the Jefferson Community College Scholarship Corporation from 1979-82 and served as trustee on the Northern New York Community Foundation from 1985 to 1995. He was also trustee of the House of The Good Samaritan from 1983 to 1993, trustee of Samaritan Keep Home and the Henry Keep Home between 1997 and 2001. He was also the project supervisor for construction of the Ives Hill retirement center. He was on the Board of Brookside Cemetery Association and served as its President 1987-200l.

Mr. Ahlheim also served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Watertown and the Town of Lyme. He belonged to the Cosmopolitan Dance Club, The Black River Valley Club, and two men’s social clubs, the Staplin Creek Society and the Cemetery Sitters.

Norm enjoyed his summers sailing on Chaumont Bay and Lake Ontario. When not sailing, Norm could be found cruising around in his vintage Mercedes or biking around Point Salubrious. He was also an accomplished woodworker and furniture maker.

He was a beloved “Papa” to his grandchildren whom he adored as much as they adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John and sister-in-law Grace.

There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 5th at 11am at First Presbyterian Church in Watertown. The burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Norm loved life to the fullest and wrote: “We only pass this way once and I have always felt that one needs to serve their fellow citizens and community to have life’s fulfillment. I feel that I have done my part and had a great time doing it. It could never have been possible without the backing of Cynthia and family.”

Addie Mae Dine, 80 formerly of Depauville/Clayton passed away April 29, 2018 surrounded by family at Samaritan Summit Village where she has been a resident since 2014.

Addie was born October 20, 1937 in Depauville NY. The daughter and only child of Gerald and Harriet (Hartman) Gould. Addie attended Depauville Elementary school and graduated from Clayton High School in June of 1955.

On January 13, 1962 she married the love of her life C. Bernard Dine in Depauville NY. They have 3 children Karen (Russell) Moseley of Rodman, Sharon (Arthur) Gamble of Clayton, Stanley (Virginia) Dine also of Clayton.

Addie became a nurse’s aid and worked for River Hospital (formerly known as EJ Noble), Coutts adult hope in Cape Vincent, and the Thousand Island Adult Home in Alexandria Bay before retiring in 2002 to care for her father. She was also a waitress/cook for several local restaurants in the Thousand Islands area over the years. She was a member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Stars in Depauville for many years.

Addie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, knitting, gardening, canning, cooking, and most importantly spending time and laughs with her family. One of her fondest memories growing up was making doughnuts with her mother and helping out at Gould Brothers Lumber with her father.

Addie was predeceased by both of her parents, and her husband Bernard. Surviving besides her three children are seven Grandchildren: Erica (Marc) Robbins, Kyleigh (Sean) Hummer, Russell (Kristin) Moseley, Amanda (Daniel) Davis, and Kristina (Brett) Kolankowski, Ashley Dine, and Reagan Dine. Three great grandchildren: Reed and Mackenna Robbins, Mason Davis, and one great grandson Carter Moseley on the way.

Arrangements have been in entrusted to T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 4th, from 4-7pm, followed immediately by service with Reverend Don Briant officiating. A burial will be held at a later date at the Depauville Cemetery.

Mr. Fred V. Higby

SYRACUSE/WATERTOWN – Mr. Fred V. Higby, age 91, formerly of the Syracuse and Watertown areas, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 27, 2018, at the Grand Nursing Home in Rome.

Born on May 28, 1926, Fred was the son of the late Mildred Higby. His childhood was spent at the House of Providence in Syracuse, NY, a home for orphaned and homeless boys. He received training as an apprentice in building and construction, and graduated from high school in 1944.

Upon the completion of his education, Fred enlisted with the United States Army and honorably served his country during World War II, obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a lifetime member of the Tipperary Hill American Legion Post 1361, serving as the music director of the legion band for many years.

At one time, Fred was married to the late Constance M. McManus, and from their relationship, came the blessings of four children.

The majority of Fred’s career was spent at Fort Drum, where he worked in maintenance for almost two decades. In his spare time, Fred was a musician, and was very talented on the harmonica and trombone.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Crystal Higby of Utah; his daughters and son-in-law, Tammy Higby of Black River, NY and Cindy & Nicholas Chaney of Arkansas; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his half-sister, Margaret Levesque; and lifelong friends, Louis and Frank Rossi. He was predeceased by his son, David Higby, whose memory he always held close to his heart.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend Fred’s visitation on Thursday morning, May 3, 2018 from 8:30AM – 9:30AM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. Fred’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 9:30AM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, with Rev. Dr. Steven Scarcia, officiating. Procession will follow to the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, where Fred will be laid to rest with military honors.

Mrs. Joan E, Fonda

POTSDAM – Mrs. Joan E. Fonda, 88, a longtime resident of State Highway 11B, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2018 at the St. Regis Nursing Home, where she had been under their care and the loving care of her daughter, Patti Jo and son, Robert, for the past year.

Joan was born March 9, 1930 in Canton, the daughter of the late Leon J. and Evelyn M. (LaShomb) Paro and was graduate of Potsdam High School. On November 27, 1947, she married Pascal J. Fonda at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Richards, officiating. Pascal predeceased her on August 19, 1999.

Joan worked for a time at the A&P, Potsdam Bowling Alley, and was a cook at the Theta Xi Fraternity. She then went to work in the kitchen at Lawrence Avenue Elementary School and retired as the kitchen manager at St. Mary’s School. She was also a 25-year member of the Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad and enjoyed knitting.

Joan is survived by her children, Robert and Mary Fonda of Fort Jackson; John and Donna Fonda of Virginia; and Patricia “Patti Jo” Mitchell of North Bangor; her grandchildren, Michael Mitchell, Julie Yates, Jessica, Amanda, Jennifer, and Maribeth Fonda; and her great grandchildren, Brynn, Geo, and Kelsea.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Bruce Fonda in October 2005 and a son-in-law, David Mitchell on April 24, 2017.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Kevin J. “Chappy” Champam

David Richert Haskins

Millinocket, Maine and formerly of Sanfordville, New York – David Richert Haskins died on April 12, 2018 at a Millinocket hospital. He was born July 9, 1939 in Newton, Massachusetts and was the oldest child of Professor Elmer and Louise (Gebhardt) Haskins. Dave (affectionately known as “Trapper”) was raised in Ohio and Vermont before graduating from high school in Potsdam, New York.

He graduated from the College of Forestry at Syracuse University with a degree in Pulp and Paper Technology. Dave was a member of the Syracuse 1957 Crew team. While at Syracuse, he met the love of his life, Luella, a nursing student. Throughout his life, he enjoyed the outdoors, including hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, camping, fishing, target shooting, hunting, and trapping. Dave spent a lot of time with his family, hiking in the Shenandoah Valley; kite flying in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania; and cross country skiing in the Maine woods. Dave enjoyed traveling with his family to Vinalhaven, ME; Philadelphia, PA, Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Glacier National Park; and his family home of Potsdam, NY.

Dave worked at paper mills in Wisconsin, New York, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania before settling in Millinocket. He spent his career in the paper industry, holding positions ranging from paper machine foreman to process engineer. He was active in the TAPPI (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry) throughout his career. At the time of his retirement from the Research Department at Great Northern Paper Company, he was Product Development Group Leader.

Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years, Luella (Brown) Haskins and their children and spouses: Joanne Muscarella (Tom); Carol Haskins (Jorge Santos); Robert Haskins (Mary); and Jon Haskins (Stephanie). Dave enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren; Claire, Peter, Emily, Garrett, Isaac, and Avery. His sister Lynne Matott who resides in Gouverneur, NY, also survives him. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by sisters Cynthia Culley and Natalie Matott. More than just a good provider, he worked hard to teach his children and grandchildren values, tree species, and thinking outside the box.

Memorial services were held at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket, ME. Private interment will be in Dighton, MA at a later date. Walter E. Smithers

OSWEGATCHIE- Walter E. Smithers, age 84, formerly of Oswegatchie, passed away on May 1, 2018 at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown.

Walter was born on September 22, 1933 in Depeyster, NY. He was the son of the late Emery and Nina M. (Willard) Smithers. He attended Depeyster School. In 1953 he entered into the United States Army and served in the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1956. Walter married Sarah Durham on August 18, 1956 in Oswegatchie, NY with Otto E. Voight officiating. Sarah passed away on May 14, 1983.

Walter worked for the Town of Fine for a few years before becoming a tow motor driver for the Newton Falls Paper Mill, where he worked for 30 ½ years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved horses and he used to bowl on the Newton Falls Paper Mill bowling league. He volunteered for nine years at the Rensselaer Falls Food Pantry. He also loved spending winters in Arizona with his longtime companion, Kathleen.

Surviving is his longtime companion, Kathleen Brossoit of Rensselaer Falls; a son and his wife, Murray and Teri Smithers of Oswegatchie; three daughters, Naomi Pitts of Star Lake, Nora and Bernard Buckley of S. Colton and Doreen Salcido of Canton; two brothers, Robert and Charles Willard and 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Walter is predeceased by his wife, Sarah; two sons-in-laws, Forrest Pitts and David Salcido; four brothers, Thomas, James, Leonard and Donald Willard; a sister Nina Willard and a sister-in-law, Marion Durham.

There will be calling hours for Walter on Thursday, May 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake. His funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at the Oswegatchie Cemetery. MANNING - Spring Burial for Mrs. Mary I. Manning who passed away on February 12, 2018, will be held on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Hogansburg, NY. Phillips Memorial Home is handling the arrangements for Mary Manning.

MCGREGOR - NORWOOD—Graveside services with Military Honors for 70 year old Virginal McGregor will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Calvary Cemetery in Massena. Mr. McGregor passed away on December 24, 2017 at his home in Massena. Arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood.

WAGSTAFF - Winthrop- Graveside services for Mr. Lawrence E. and Mrs. Joanne M. Wagstaff will be held Saturday May 5 at 9:00 AM at Willis Cemetery (Sweeney’s Corners) in Winthrop, with Pastor Helen St. Louie officiating. Larry passed away on December 31, 2012 and Joanne passed on September 2, 2017. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Peter L. Esposito

Peter L. Esposito, 85, of Sackets Harbor, formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2018 at Samaritan Medical Center.

Peter was born on September 20, 1932 in Watertown, New York. He was the son of Louis and Lucy Dick Esposito. He was a graduate of Watertown High School. On February 3, 1967 he married Patricia A. Davidson at Holy Family Church, in Watertown, NY. Peter served in the United States Air Force from 1955 until 1956, being honorably discharged from the United States Air Force Reserves in 1960.

Peter worked for the Johnson Newspaper Corporation and then completed his career in sales for WWNY TV and 790 WTNY Radio, retiring in 2004. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, a member of the Watertown Elks Lodge, VFW Post # 1400 and American Legion Post # 61. Peter was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. He was most fond of traveling with his wife and spending time with his family.

Surviving besides his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia, are two sons, Peter William, Rockhill, SC, Mark (Sonya), Watertown, two daughters, Lori (Kyle) Ohmann, Conover, NC, Lynn (Troy) Pietroski, Sackets Harbor, three grandchildren, Joshua Ohmann, Sarah Ohmann and Harris Esposito and family friend, Darcy Fargo. He is also survived by his maternal aunt, Lena Bearup, and several cousins.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held Friday at 9:15 am at the funeral home with a 10 am funeral mass at St. Patrick’s Church with Msgr. Robert Aucoin officiating. James (Jim) H. Martin

James (Jim) H. Martin, 88, of Massena N.Y. Passed away April 3, 2018 in New Port Richey Florida.

Jim was born in Massena on May 12, 1929. He graduated from Massena High School and then joined the United States Navy. Jim married, and was predeceased by, Myrt Armstrong.

Jim returned to Massena in 2003. He married (Sara) Jane Parisian Brannen on June 30, 2006.

Surviving Jim is his wife Jane, daughters Sandra Rivett, Debra (Greg) Ritchie, sons James (Lori), Daniel (Dora), David, Todd (Anne), stepdaughters Wanda Flynn, Dureen “DeeDee” (Gary) LaDuke, a brother Richard “Ritchie” Martin, several grandchildren, and great grand children.

A mass to celebrate his life will be held Friday May 4, 2018 at St. Lawrence Church in Louisville N.Y. at 10:00. Burial will be in Connecticut at a later date.

CONSTABLEVILLE – Kayden H. Loomis, 79, of State Route 12D Constableville passed away late Friday evening, April 27, 2018 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia.

A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., in Lowville. Calling hours are Friday, May 11, 2018 from 1-3 and 6-8 prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.

He is survived by 2 children and their spouses; Scott and Theresa Loomis of Constableville; and their children, Courtney and Bruce Kraegar, and their children, Nolan, Brooke, Kayden, Maverick, and Lyra. Shelby and Justin Cobb, and their children, Paxton, Joseph, and Jaymis. Shawn Loomis and his fiancée, Kayla Carberry, and Collin Loomis; Renae(Col.(Ret)David) Hater their children Joanna(Oscar) McGee, 2LT Andrew Hater.

Renae along with one of Kayden’s best friend, co watcher of Women’s college softball and fixers of all big and small,David Ewing enriched Kaydens life with even more grandchildren he called his own. Kevin(Shelby)Ewing,Japheth(Jessica,Parker,Clara)Gossage Jonathan ( Destiny, Damon, Mariah) McCrea, Cora (Jaguar)Ludwick; a sister, Shirley Meekins of Lowville; longtime hunting partners, Mike and Esther Kilbourn of Lyons Falls; his beloved dog, Freida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by three brothers; Francis, Eldon, and Doug Loomis.

Kayden was born on August 14, 1938 in Lowville, NY a son of the late Fay D. and Louise Wilcox Loomis. He attended Port Leyden School. His father died when he was 16 and he went to work to support his family (for 6 years), and went to work at Georgia Pacific in Mckeever, until they closed in 1959. In 1961 he went to work for AMF, and he was then drafted into the U.S. Army, serving from 1961 to 1963. After his service, he returned to AMF and worked for 39 ½ years, retiring in 2000. A marriage to Florence Carpenter ended after many years.

Kayden enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars like his 1950 Pontiac.

Deborah P. Hughto, 64, of Catherine Avenue, Alexandria Bay, passed away at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, with her loving family by her side.

Deborah was born on July 18, 1953 in Alexandria Bay, the daughter of Donald and Virginia Moore Simpson. She graduated from Alexandria Central School. She worked for many years at the Corner Pharmacy in Alexandria Bay and then for Kinney Drugs, where she had been currently working as a supervisor.

Debbie married David Hughto on June 9, 2006 at the Alexandria Bay United Methodist Church.

She was an active member of Alley Cat Rescue of Alexandria Bay, an organization to prevent cruelty to animals.

Debbie is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Kelly Clark, Buffalo, NY; her sisters, Cindy Simpson and Sarah Smith, both of Alexandria Bay; her brother Donald “Butch” Simpson, Alexandria Bay; her brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Sheila Hughto, Richlands, NC; and three grand-daughters.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 4th from 5-7:30 and from 11-12 noon on Saturday at Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. A funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Frederica Webb on Saturday at 12 noon at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Jeffrey J. Stout, age 46 of Sand Street in Brier Hill, will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday (May 5, 2018) at the Brier Hill Fire Department with Pastor David Sheppard officiating. Burial will be at the Ingham Cemetery at a later date. Following the service there will be celebration of life at the Brier Hill Fire Department, please attend wearing your Pittsburg Steelers colors black and yellow.

Surviving is his father David W. Stout Jr.; two brothers David (Susan) Stout III and Michael (Cathy) Stout all of Brier Hill; nieces and nephews Aaron Stout, Abigail Stout, Anna Stout, Parker Stout and Tiffany (Lopez) Stout.

Jeffrey was predeceased by his mother Petronella “Nelly” Stout on April 13, 2018.

He was born on February 16, 1972 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of David & the late Nelly (VanErp) Stout. He graduated from Morristown High School and continued his education at SUNY Potsdam State where he earned a Bachelor’s degree.

In 1995 Jeff attended and completed an internship at Gallaudet University, a renowned education institution for the deaf and hard of hearing. Jeff’s work at Gallaudet demonstrated to the students at Gallaudet that people with a disability could overcome that challenge and work side by side with able-bodied persons. Jeff was a support system for other quadriplegics and paraplegics

Jeff was a prominent athlete at Morristown Central School. He was a four-year starter on the varsity soccer and baseball teams making several league all-star teams in both sports and in his senior year was the starting point guard on the most successful basketball team in Morristown Central School history. That year his team went 28-2, losing in the final four to the eventual State Champion. Jeff was extremely proud of this team accomplishment and recalled those memories fondly.

Jeff was a fixture at many of the areas sporting events. People would often go out of their way and walk over to say hi to them. He cared very deeply about the Sports Programs much like his Uncle Dean Daniels. Jeff could always be heard cheering for his hometown Green Rockets.

Jeff was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. His love for his team often drove his friends to the edge of insanity as he playfully badgered them with the Steelers success. Jeff volunteered at several high schools doing talks on DWI. Jeff loved watching comedians and live comedy shows. Jeff loved spending time on the 4th of July in Morristown taking part in the festivities. Jeff enjoyed game nights, sewing club after hours at Lang Brooke and spending time with his family and numerous circle of friends.

Two of Jeff’s greatest enjoyments was attending his nieces and nephews sporting events and also going to the Akwesane Mohawk Casino playing black jack with his friends.

CROGHAN – Glenn R. Widrick, 77, passed away Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018 under loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at Croghan Mennonite Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 with Pastors Paul Mast, Bruce Roggie and Ed Steckly, officiating. Calling hours will be held at Croghan Mennonite Church from 2-4 and 6-8 on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Burial will be private in Croghan Mennonite Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Margie; his 3 children and their spouses, Colleen and Gene Sundberg of Beaver Falls, Cheryl and Ed Steckly of Croghan, Cathi and Beryl Roes of Beaver Falls; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Yousey of Lowville; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Widrick of Lowville, Frances Widrick of Bangor, PA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dorrance and Janet Moshier of Fort Meade, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Derwood Widrick, Gerald (Betty) Widrick, Imelda (Ronald) Hills, Maxine (Vernon) Nafziger, and Douglas Widrick; and a brother-in-law, Norman Yousey.

Glenn was born on June 21, 1940 in Kirschnerville, NY, a son of the late Leon H. and Katherine D. Lehman Widrick. He attended Beaver Falls School and Henry Hill School at Kirschnerville, and then went back to Beaver Falls School. He worked in Lewis Schweitzer Sawmill and worked for Climax Manufacturing. He married Anna Margie Moshier on June 25, 1960 at Lowville Mennonite Church with Rev. Lloyd Boshart, officiating. He worked at Climax for 18 years, and then drove truck for Elmer Moser and Sons for over 25 years.

Mr. Widrick was a member of the Croghan Mennonite church, where he held many positions within the church; and was a member of Beaver Camp. He enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and most of all spending time with his family.

Beverly H. Champlin

On Friday January 5, 2018 Beverly H. Champlin passed away at the age of 88. Beverly was residing in the Village of St Edwards memory care and nursing home in Fairlawn, Ohio where she moved to from Watertown, NY in March of 2017. Beverly will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Roger (Patricia) (Copley, OH), Richard (Dayton, OH), Melody Brenon (Watertown, NY) and Marie Fuhrken (Sparks, NV). Beverly has 12 grandchildren & 20 great grandchildren and her love for these children could always be seen in that special smile, when the kids were around her. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Augustus in August of 2015. They were celebrating 67 years of marriage that year. Beverly graduated from Henderson High school in 1947. Mom will always be remembered for her unselfish caring for her husband and family. Mom always enjoyed packing the family camping gear and heading out for summer weekends in the surrounding New York State Parks. Beverly worked as the bookkeeper for the Gus Champlin Fence Construction Co for the many years that the family business was in operation. Beverly was a member of the Henderson Historical Society where she assisted in activities. A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. Jonas will be celebrated in memory of Beverly on Monday May 7, 2018 @10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 320 W Lynde St. Watertown, NY 13601. The family welcomes friends to attend the service and a luncheon reception at the Italian American Club (Bellew Ave) following burial at Glenwood Cemetery.

Tsuneko Bleau, 85, formerly of Canton passed away on July 26, 2018 at the Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown, where she had been a resident for some time.

Tsuneko is survived by several nieces and nephews, Clara Woodley, Charles Bleau, Paula Schraefer, Leila, Larry, Loren, Theresa, Tom, Lynette, Joe, Matt and Donald Arquitt.

She is predeceased by her husband Lyle Bleau.

She was born on June 2, 1932 in Japan, the daughter of the late Kimitaro and Kono Kano. She worked at a plastics factory in Mass., where she designed heels for shoes.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton , with Lay Pastor Martha Helmer, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Edwards.
