Beverly J. King, 91, formerly of Boyd St. and widow of Donald King, passed away Monday morning at the Samaritan Summit Village where she had been a resident since april of 2013.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Sunday November 25th at times to be announced at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.

Mary Ann Langevin,73, of Rt. # 3, Carthage, died Monday evening, November 19, 2018 at her home while under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mary Ann was born on May 16, 1945 in Copenhagen, the daughter of the late Alexander J. and Margaret (Jones) St. Louis. She married Gilles J. Langevin on April 11, 1964 at St. Mary’s Church in Copenhagen. She was an interior decorator, a waitress at Intorcia’s Donut Shop and for many years she worked at Gray’s Flower Shop in Carthage. She was very involved with the Rome State School for the Deaf.

Mary Ann was a member of the Red Hat Society and she loved to play Scrabble and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband: Gilles J. Langevin of Carthage, one daughter, Tina Covey and her fiancé, Richard Vooris of Carthage, two sons: Aaron (Rosemary) Langevin of Michigan and Aarik (Amanda) Langevin of Carthage, five grandchildren; Tiffany Covey, Kiley Covey, Aavry Langevin, Eliza Langevin and Jacee Langevin, four sisters: Joan Davis of Lowville, Linda Intorcia and Shirley Nevills both of Carthage and Karen Davidson of Redwood, two brothers: Robert St. Louis of NC and Kenneth St. Louis of SC and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by four brothers, Richard, Herb, Allan and Warner St. Louis and her sister, Grace Scanlon.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 24 at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Rev. Donald A. Robinson officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral service from 11.00am - 1:00pm at the funeral home on Saturday.

James “Jimmy” L. Sanford, Jr.

James “Jimmy” L. Sanford, Jr., 55, of Co. Rt. 15, died Friday, November 16, 2018 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY, after his hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born on October 23, 1963 in Watertown, NY, he was a son of James and Juanita House Sanford. He attended LaFargeville Central School.

Jimmy married Karin P. Detwiler on February 12, 1983 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Black River, NY.

He worked as a cream cheese operator for Crowley Foods, LaFargeville, NY, retiring after 27 years. He was also previously employed at RoDan’s Auto Electric, Watertown, NY, where he rebuilt starters and alternators.

Jimmy was Vice-President of the Rivergate Wheelers ATV Club and a member of the Aldrich Fish and Game Club.

He could be found restoring and enjoying antique cars and hot rods, building a treehouse for the grandchildren, as well as a camp, Shady Rest II, for his family and friends to enjoy together. He also enjoyed hunting, as well as fishing with Karin, his best fishing partner. For the past several years, he enjoyed playing in classic rock bands, “Midnight Curfew” and “Philabusters”. He also shared his wife’s passion for horses, being owner and operators of Little Jimmy’s Creekside Minis, miniature horse farm.

Jimmy and Karin were always busy in their retirement, enjoying quality time with their amazing friends who they loved like family, be it fishing, doing chicken BBQ’s, socializing, boating or playing music.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Karin; a son, Joseph Sanford, Plessis, NY; a daughter, Brooke Parmeter and husband, Matthew, Hammond; four grandchildren, Katrina, Landin and Katelynn Sanford and Witten Parmeter; four sisters, Juanita (Scott) Titus, Syracuse, Sherry Miller, Syracuse, Wanda (Arthur) Calhoun, LaFargeville, Ivy (Matt) Harrell, FL; five brothers, David (Virginia) Sanford, LaFargeville, Edward Sanford (Colleen Calhoun), Watertown, Ronald Sanford, Watertown, Leslie Carr (Jen Westerdick), Theresa, Wade (Amy) Sanford, LaFargeville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His parents and a brother, George Lesinski, died previously.

Calling hours will be 3-6 pm Friday, November 23, 2018 at the funeral home.

Memorial Services will be 11 am Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY with Pastor Donna Fitchette, officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the LaFargeville American Legion, following services.

Tracy Lynn (Collins) Porter, 52 of Mannsville, NY passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday November 16, 2018.

Services will be held on Sunday November 25th at the Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek, NY. Calling Hours will be from 1pm to 3pm with the funeral starting at 3pm. A Celebration of life will follow at the Sandy Creek Fire Hall.

Tracy was predeceased by her parents Lance and Rita (Gay) Collins. Tracy is survived by her husband Jeff Porter, and one son Kobe “Littleman” Porter, her pride and joy; Five sisters, Cindy Francis, Laurie Nichols, Terr (Kip) Balcom, Sherry Gray, Wendy (Scott) Smith, One brother Lance (Stephanie) Collins and many extended family members.

Tracy was a caregiver who took pride in caring for the elderly and her family. As part of her caring nature, if you were in her presence, she made sure you had a full belly. She had a love for cooking and sharing it with others. Aside from taking care of people she also shared that love and passion for animals.

Tracy loved to take care of herself by exercising daily. She loved to make people laugh. Tracy also loved music, dancing and having a good time. Her zest for life was undeniable.

Elaine Lanning, 74 of Cape Vincent, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2018 as a resident of Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont, NY.

Elaine was born on April 21, 1944 in Watertown, NY to the late Gladys and Merton Majo of Dexter, NY. Elaine attended Dexter schools and graduated from General Brown High School.

Elaine enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time on both Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. For 15 years she enjoyed spending the winters in Florida with her beloved husband Ken, along with all her friends from around the United States, Canada, and Great Britain.

She also loved her two fun loving dogs Christy and Pepper. Elaine worked as a clerk for NYSDOT in Watertown for 37 ½ years, retiring in April of 1999.

She is survived by her husband Ken of 38 years, a son Joseph Siraqusa and his wife Jennifer, a Stepson Kurt Lanning and his wife Lori, a sister Joan Mac Jones of Florida.

She is predeceased by her parents, and a sister Jane Bates of Cape Vincent.

Elaine will be cremated upon her request. Calling hours will be Saturday November 24th, 2018 from 2-4pm at Becker-Cleveland Funeral home in Chaumont, NY. A burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery will be at a later date.

Massena: Carol A. Esterline, 75, of Serra Lane, Massena, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Massena Memorial Hospital. At her request, there will be no public calling hours or funeral services.

Carol was born on July 27, 1943 in Amarillo, TX, the daughter of Harold and Etta (Pearson) Collier. She attended and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1961. She then attended Amarillo Junior College, where she received an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Studies. Carol married the love of her life, Richard Esterline, on October 26, 1963, at St. Joseph’s Church in Amarillo, Texas. When she was first married, she worked as a secretary at several insurance companies in the Texas area. After her daughters were born, Carol devoted her life to raising her children and providing a loving home for her family. She had a passion for crocheting, which she often used to make afghans and gifts for others. She also enjoyed reading and watching the birds in her backyard. What she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family, making wonderful meals and treats for them and spoiling her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Richard; two daughters, Holly Esterline of Burlington, VT and Tiffany and Andrew Boulais of Massena; three granddaughters, Amanda Catchings and fiancé Brady Condlin, Alexis and Hailey Boulais. She was predeceased by a brother, James Collier.

Richard L. Phillips

Richard L. Phillips, 68, of Utica passed away at his home on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Friday, November 23, from 4 - 7 PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, November 24, at 9:15 AM followed by the funeral mass celebrated at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM with Rev. Jonas Tandayu, MSC presiding. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Dick was born in Massena on March 13, 1950, son of John Bannon and Thelma Powers Phillips. He was a 1968 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central School, where he played football and baseball. He was united in a wonderful marriage to Mary Ann Ratigliano in October 1971 and she passed on September 30, 2012. After their marriage they spent several years in Pennsylvania, then moved back to New York, residing in Utica since 1977.

He was in the US Navy from 1969 to 1974. For over 35 years he worked for Brodock Press, Utica, starting as a feeder operator, moving to a pressman, and then press foreman. He spent six years in customer service, then Night Plant Manager and retired as a Professional Printer. He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church, Utica. Dick was an avid sportsman, especially bowling and golf. In spring 2018 he made a Hole in One in Myrtle Beach, winning $10,000.

He is survived by his four siblings, John and wife, Mei, Buffalo, Robert and wife, Yolande, Carthage, Laurie Galluccio, Watertown, and Timothy and wife, Vicki, Watertown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; his life-long extensive Ratigliano family; and his dear Utica friends, Bill LaFleur, Dorothy Smithers, and Angie Palazzoli. He was predeceased by brother, Thomas Bannon Phillips, brother-in-law, Steve Galluccio, and sister-in-law, Valerie Ratigliano.

MaryAnn Monteith

MaryAnn Monteith, 81, of Clayton passed away Monday, November 19, 2018, at Samaritan Medical Center.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Wednesday, November 21, from 4 - 7 PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Friday, November 23, at 1:15 PM followed by the funeral mass celebrated at St. Mary’s Church at 2 PM with Rev. Arthur J. LaBaff, pastor, presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

MaryAnn was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on September 7, 1937, daughter of Phillip J. and Rose Bono Nardi. The family moved to Clayton and she graduated from Clayton Central School in 1954.

On May 19, 1956 she married William L. Monteith, Jr. at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. George E. Racette officiating. Mr. Monteith died February 17, 2015.

MaryAnn worked at Clayton Locker Plant. She then worked 25 years for McCormick’s as a waitress, then an office manager. She then went to work for the Village of Clayton as a deputy clerk and treasurer, retiring on December 3, 1997 after thirteen years with the village. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and a member of American Legion Colon-Couch Post 821 Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and snowmobiling. She also enjoyed the River and shore dinners at Thurso Bay with her family and friends. Time spent with her family and her dogs, Corky and Nicky, were very precious to her.

MaryAnn is survived by her son, William J. Monteith and wife, Kim, Sims, NC; two daughters, Lorraine M. “Laurie” Monteith and companion, Jack Reff, LaFargeville and Rosanne L. Monteith and companion, Kelly Bragger, Watertown; two grandchildren, Ashlie Monteith and fiancee, Ryan Blanchone, Clayton and Philip William “Nug” Monteith, Watertown; sister, Ann Rose Bennett and husband, Leroy D., Manassas, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Massena: It is with profound sadness, that the family of Mary P. Cappione announces her passing

on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Mary was born to the late Basil and Margaret (White) Post in Ogdensburg, NY, on October 30, 1930. Mary graduated from Massena High School in 1948 and later from Utica Business School in 1949. On February 25, 1952, Mary married Francis “Bucky” Cappione at St. Mary’s Church, Massena. Mary was a lifelong resident of Massena and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She worked many years for the Massena Banking and Trust and later began a career as a real estate agent for Kassian Real Estate. She was also a former member of the Massena Country Club.

Mary’s true passion in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many. To Mary, family was truly her heart and soul. Her annual Christmas dinners that were shared by family and friends will truly be missed. Mary was also a dedicated fan of Massena’s Hockey teams, especially any team with a family member. Her proudest moments were those spent with family.

Mary is survived by Francis “Bucky” Cappione, her three children, Kristine “Tina” and husband Frank Grace of Pompano Beach, FL; David Post and Micheline Cappione, and John Robert “JB” and wife Nancy Cappione of Massena, NY. Her beloved grandchildren, Trista and husband Eric Drake, Ryan, Marissa and Alexa Cappione all of Massena, along with her cherished great-grandchildren, Liam and Isabella Drake. She is also survived by sisters, Margaret Casey and Patricia and husband Wayne Tyo of Louisville, NY; sister-in-law Loretta Opalka, brothers-in-law Samuel and Lena Cappione, Amedeo and Sue Cappione and Joseph and Sally Cappione all of Massena along with several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Basil and Margaret Post, two brothers, Robert and John Post, sisters-in-law Judith Post, Marjory Cappione, Constance Wing and Barbara Sharlow, brothers-in-law James Casey, Benjamin Cappione, Daniel Opalka, Robert Wing, Michael Cappione, Alton Sharlow, niece Margaret Fleming, and nephew Mark P. Tyo.

Friends and family may be received on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Phillips Memorial Home, in Massena. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, with Fr. Scott Belina officiating. Internment to be held in Calvary Cemetery following the services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.

CANASTOTA- Eric T. Wakeman, 39, of South Main Street, passed away peacefully at his home, on Friday, November 16, 2018.

Born in Syracuse, on April 29, 1979, Eric was a mechanic for most of his adult life, most recently employed with Jerome Fire Equipment in Clay.

Surviving are his parents, Ralph (Lori) Wakeman of Chittenango and Sherrilynn (Steve) Wakeman of Canastota; his soulmate Tammy Wratten of Canastota; his brother, Zachary L. Wakeman of Canastota; his sister, Hanna B. Midlar of Cicero; six children, Zachary B. White, 19, Trinity S. Wakeman, 15, Destiny S. Wakeman, 14, all of Mexico, NY, Eyan Yazzie,13, Wyle Yazzie, 11, and Lilabella Wratten,6, all of Canastota; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandparents.

So many lives will never be the same. RIP Eric Wakeman.

Per Eric’s Wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral, he wanted a “Celebration of Life “party, which is currently in the planning stage. Details will be disseminated in the near future.

Spencerport, Flagg G. Smith (Bud). Peacefully on November 13, 2018 at age 93. Survived by his children, Douglas (Penny), Randall (Karen), Todd, Kimberly; grandchildren, Kristin, Brandon, Julie, Trevor, Daniel, Douglas K., Ryan, Ashley, Megan, Kellen and 1 great grandchild, and several nieces & nephews.

Alyce A. Tavernier

Alyce A. Tavernier, 89, of 827 State St. Carthage, died Wednesday morning, November 21, 2018 at her home where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Alyce was born on October 27, 1929 in Theresa, the daughter of the late Glenn and Helen (Giltz) Alverson. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from Potsdam State College. She married Jack M. Tavernier on June 25, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church in Evans Mills with the Rev. Henry W. McFadden officiating. Alyce was a kindergarten, second grade and remedial reading teacher for over 30 years. She taught in Rochester, Great Bend, Deferiet, Lowville and Pulaski, eventually retiring with the South Jefferson School District in 1990. Jack died on October 23, 1993.

Alyce was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved reading while sipping coffee, gardening, feeding and watching the birds. Her favorite memories were spending summers at camp fishing on the St. Lawrence River near Ogdensburg with friends and family. She was a volunteer at the Carthage Free Library and helped with the playground construction at the Carthage Park.

She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law: Susan Tavernier, Kathryn and her husband William Sochia, all of Carthage; four grandchildren: Matthew, Stephanie, Amy and Juliet. Her three sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive her. She is predeceased by her two brothers, Austin and Charles Alverson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 25 at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Giles officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1-3pm at the funeral home.

Emma Jean Landis MSN

Emma Jean Landis MSN, 82, of Tunkhannock, PA died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at her son’s home in Croghan NY.

Jean was born in Harleysville, PA. of the late Ellis and Edna Good Mack. She married Ray Laverne Landis on June 10, 1958.

She was a member of Towamencin Mennonite Church, Harleysville and First Baptist Church of Factoryville. She received a BSN degree from Eastern Mennonite University in 1962 and a Masters in Nursing Administration from College Misericordia in 1990.

She became a registered nurse in 1957. Her nursing career was diverse and included; teaching obstetrics, working in pediatrics, surgery and podiatry, educating and caring for women and children in Jamaica, serving on several Native American reservations and founding and operating Tunkhannock Adult Day Care. She was also pivotal in the day to day operations of her husband’s medical practice.

In addition to “seeing the need, and finding a way to fill it” through her nursing career, Jean enjoyed her family and friends, traveling, and birding. During her retirement, she knitted over 1000 hats for Samaritan’s Purse and MCC, and pieced over 440 quilts and comforters for MCC. Throughout her life, she had a knack for making the impossible possible.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Laverne Landis, M.D.; a daughter, Konnie Landis, M.D.; a son, Kenton Landis; sisters, Edna Yoder and Mary Loux, and brother, Paul Mack. She is survived by her daughters Karen (Tim) Alderfer of Athens, PA, and Kathy (Miles Reimer) Landis of Newton KS; son Kenneth (Rosetta) Landis of Croghan, NY; a son-in-law, William Sutherland of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Esther Delp of Lansdale, and Hannah (Joe) Lapp of Harrisonburg, VA. She has seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on December 1st, from 1-3pm at First Baptist Church of Factoryville, PA. A Celebration of Jean’s life will begin at 4pm at First Baptist Church. Interment will be a private family service at Plains Mennonite Church, Hatfield PA. RAYMONDVILLE—Funeral services for 72 year old Jon D. Hazen, a resident of 1 Woodland Drive, Raymondville, will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Raymondville United Methodist Church with Rev. David and Jamie Barnum presiding. Burial will follow the services in Bixby Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Mr. Hazen passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, November 20, 2018 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital with his family at his side.

Jon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cheryl, Raymondville; his twin daughters, Christine and Michael Bateson, Brewerton, NY; Colleen and Donald Clark, Pennellville, NY; his four beloved grandchildren, Ryan and Emma Clark and Nicholas and Allison “Allie “ Bateson; his sister, Jennifer and Roy Bixby, Malta, NY as well as several special nieces and nephews.

Born in Potsdam, NY on November 8, 1946 to the late Heywood and Frances “Petty” Ferguson Hazen, Jon graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School and obtained a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Potsdam. He married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Kingsley on August 19, 1967. Together, they raised their twin daughters while Jon taught school at Norwood-Norfolk as well as being a coach. Jon was very active within the community as he was a current member and President of the NNCS School Board, the vice-president of the St. Lawrence School Board Association, a member of NYSUT, a NYS Track Official and Jon was the founder of the youth soccer program in the Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville area. Jon was also a past member and president of the Norfolk Lions Club and enjoyed attending any sporting events, especially soccer and track. Above all, Jon was devoted to his family and enjoyed watching his children and grand-children grow as adults. Upon his retirement in 2002, Jon worked with the Buck Funeral Home. Jon was a perfect fit with his personality and connections within the community. He truly enjoyed his work there as he could “catch up” with all of his former students, as he loved to visit and had a gift to tell a story or two. He was a well-respected and valued person to both the community and the funeral home. Memorial donations in Jon’s memory can be made to the Norfolk Rescue Squad, the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Cancer Center or consider being a blood donor in his memory. Beverly J. King, 91, widow of Donald King, passed away Monday, November 19th at the Samaritan Summit Village where she has resided since April 7, 2013. She had previously resided at the Mercy Center since June 2010.

The funeral for Bev will be 2 pm Sunday, November 25th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 12 noon – 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery later in the week.

She is survived by three daughters Yvonne (Henry) Tarwater, Beverly J. King and Darlene (Wayne) Scott, all of Watertown; two sons Donald E. King, Clayton and Mark (Tina) King, Watertown; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Two children Ruth and Katherine died in infancy. She was predeceased by a son Robert in March of 2018, two brothers Howard and Angelo Amody and a sister Vivian Hammer predeceased her.

She was born in Syracuse February 27, 1927, a daughter to Angelo and Ruth Moore Amody. She married Donald King in 1947. Beverly worked at JJ Newberry’s and Woolworths before going to work at Production Unlimited until her retirement.

Beverly enjoyed Shopping, cooking, dancing and roller skating.

Helen P. Fetterly

Helen P. Fetterly,95, of Carthage, died Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Carthage.

Helen was born on October 17, 1923 in Swanton, VT, the daughter of the late Emmett and Lillian (Thomas) Poquette. She married Alfred S. Fetterly on June 28, 1941 at Sacred Heart Church in Massena. Alfred, a former truck driver died on March 28, 1972. Helen worked at the Carthage Area Hospital Coffee Shop and the Cafeteria for 7 years. She also was a home health caregiver for several years.

Helen was a member of St. James Church, the VIP’s, Ave Marie Circle and was a lifetime member of VFW Post # 7227 Auxiliary in Carthage. She is survived by two daughters: Joanne Stanley and Marilyn Gardner, both of Tacoma, GA, four sons: Robert F., Richard S. and David A. Fetterly, all of Carthage and Douglas W. Fetterly of Harrisville, 10 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, a sister: Ann Revier of Spencerport, a brother: Francis Poquette of North Lawrence and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three sisters, Marjorie LaGray, Edna Durant and Altha Rodden and two brothers, Silas and Kurt Poquette.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, November 26 at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Rev. Donald A. Robinson officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Monday, November 26 from 10:00-11:30am at the funeral home.

Lynn A. Wills, 55, of 609 New York Ave., Watertown, passed away November 20, 2018 at home where she was surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home 117 N. Massey St., Watertown. It was Lynn’s wishes to be cremated. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29 at the Sanford Corners Cemetery.

She was born on July 12, 1963 in Watertown , daughter of Darwin and Rose Danks. Lynn graduated from Indian River High School and went onto to attend vocational school. Following school she held various jobs in the local area.

She had a passion for cooking, enjoyed wallpapering, cake decorating, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Among her survivors are her loving companion, John Wright, Watertown, her daughter and son in law, Erica R. and Herbert C. Forbes, Watertown, two grandchildren, Lily and Leo. She is also survived by three stepbrothers and three stepsisters, several nieces and nephews.

Carole A. Johnson, Dexter, wife of Walter “Mike” Johnson, passed away Wednesday, November 21st at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Funeral services will be private for the family on Monday, November 26th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Mike, Dexter; three daughters Linda (Michael) O’Connor, Carthage, Susan (Robert) Joanette, Dexter, and Jennifer (Todd) O’Donnell, Chaumont; one son Jared Johnson, Dexter; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; a brother Donald Foote, Adams; several nieces and nephews. A sister Linda Jean Foote and her step-father and mother, David and Dorothy Dawson (Foote) Parry predeceased her.

She was born in Watertown, February 24, 1944, she was educated in the Watertown School District. Carole was a hairdresser for many years.

She was active in the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brownville and Trinity Episcopal Church in Watertown.

Carole enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, at the Dawson family cottage on Lake Ontario.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of her mother or to Trinity Episcopal Church, Watertown, NY.
