Kirch, 91, Maynard Ave., Dexter passed away at her home Tuesday morning, August 2, 2016./ppA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 5, at 1PM at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville with Rev. H. Michael Gaffney, pastor, presiding. Entombment in Glenwood Mausoleum will be at the family’s convenience. There will be no calling hours and arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown./ppPhyllis was born a twin in Adams, MA on April 25, 1925 of the late William and Lillian (Paradise) St. Hilaire. She grew up in the Berkshire area and attended Notre Dame Elementary and C. T. Plunkett Junior and Senior High School. She was a graduate of Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH and attended Potsdam University for further study. /ppShe taught at St. Mary’s Elementary School, Clayton, Holy Angel’s School, St. Albans, VT, a mission school in British Colombia, and an elementary school in Manchester, NH./ppShe has been a resident of the Dexter area for the last 30 years and in 1991 she retired from Dexter Elementary School as a fourth grade teacher, where she taught for twenty years. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Dexter and Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville. She had taught fifth grade religion class and was a Eucharistic Minister at Samaritan Medical Center on Thursdays. She was a former nun in the Sisters of the Holy Cross and of the Seven Dolors./ppPhyllis is survived by her three stepchildren, Peggy Kirch, TN, Cindy Kirch, TN, and Michael Kirch, Brownville; brother, Clement St. Hilaire, Adams, MA; three sisters, her twin, Sr. Patricia St. Hilaire, CSC, Manchester, VT, Doris Rougeau, Adams, MA, and Gabrielle Downey, Pittsfield, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Kirch, two brothers, Vincent and Roland St. Hilaire, and two sisters, Rita Rose and Roma Tanguay. /ppMasses for the repose of her soul may be made to a church of your choice. Kohl, 99, of Ellisburg passed away Tuesday, August 02, 2016 at the Hospice Residence at the Ellis Farm where she had been a resident since July 20th. /ppThe funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, August 5th at the Carpenter Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with a burial to follow at the Ellisburg Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 12-2 pm at the funeral home. /ppShe was born June 25, 1917, in Adams Center, NY a daughter to Bert and Lottie Washburn Miner. She attended Union Academy, Belleville and married Earl A. Kohl on October 18, 1934 at the Belleville Methodist Church with the Rev. Miles Hutchinson officiating. Mr. Kohl died April 26, 1992. /ppFollowing their marriage, the couple resided in the Henderson area, in the early 1940’s they lived in Adams Center. After Mr. Kohl returned from World War II the couple lived in Smithville and in 1963 they moved to Ellisburg where Addie had lived until recently. /ppIn her early years she worked for Morgia’s and Cavalos in Sackets Harbor and was a housekeeper for many families. Addie loved her children, grandchildren, everyone’s babies and her cats and dogs. /ppSurviving are her son and daughter in law, Richard and Theresa Kohl, Adams Center; a daughter Cora Stevens, Mannsville; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren. /ppBesides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her son, Roger, her daughter, Charlotte Barney, 3 brothers, Louis, Eugene (Red) and Charlie Miner. /ppDonations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson Co., 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601. /ppOnline condolences can be made at www.carpenterstoodley.com/p

pWaddington: Barbara A. Planty, 74 of County Route 44, Waddington, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Massena Memorial Hospital after being admitted for a week. There will be no public calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 11:00 am at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Louisville./ppBarbara was born on December 14, 1941 in Potsdam, NY, the daughter of the late Henry and Gilberta (LaBelle) Matthews. She attended school in the Norwood-Norfolk area and at one time worked as a waitress at Fiacco’s Restaurant in Potsdam. Barb also worked at the local grocery store in Norwood as a cashier and was a house cleaner for many years around the area. She married Ronald Planty on April 18, 1964 in Madrid. More recently she worked as a cleaner at the Post Office in Waddington for over ten years. Barbara enjoyed cooking, baking and watching the different birds that were around her house. She also cherished the time that she spent with her family and grandchildren./ppBarbara is survived by her five children, Henry Paro of Waddington, Ronald and wife Tina Planty of Waddington, Christopher and wife Billie Jo Planty of Norfolk, Terry Halpern of Waddington, Rhonda and husband Jeffery Seguin of Chase Mills; thirteen grandchildren and three great- grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth and husband Robert Agen of Massena; many nieces and nephews./ppBesides her parents, Barb is predeceased by her husband Ronald who passed in 2009; a sister, Diane in infancy and a brother, Robert Matthews. /ppIn lieu of flowers, a donation in Barbara’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311. pCARTHAGE- Michael Robert Young, 74, formerly of 63 Madison Street, died on Monday, August 01, 2016 at the Lewis County General Hospital. He was born on June 18, 1942 in Syracuse, New York the son of the late, Robert and Antoinette Listas Young. He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1961. /ppHe married Margaret Strife on June 6, 1964 at the St. Stephens Church. The couple has three children, two sons, Michael Young, Watertown; Mark and Angela Young, Carthage; a daughter, Mary and her husband Ronald Mayer, Arizona. He is also survived by three grandchildren, RJ Mayer, Cody Young, and Zachary Young and a step grandson, Tyler Moroughan./ppHe was a tester, for Boise Cascade Company an American manufacturer and distributor of lumber & building materials./ppHe was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, the Beaver River fishing and game club where he was an avid hunter, he also enjoyed woodworking./ppA Memorial Service will be held in the LUNDY Chapel on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:30am with the Reverend, Donald Robinson officiating, he is the pastor of the St. James Catholic Church. pCARTHAGE – Marion E. Moody, 95, formerly of Grandview Courts and Meadowbrook Terrace, died late Tuesday evening at the Lewis County Hospital in Lowville, where she had been a patient for a short time./ppBorn on April 26, 1921 in Antwerp, the daughter of Henry J. & Bertha Tomlinson Yaddow, she attended area schools. She married Clifford Nier on June 5, 1939 in Antwerp. Mr. Nier died at age 49 in 1964. She then married Robert Moody in Carthage on December 2, 1967. Mr. Moody died at age 44 in 1971./ppMrs. Moody was a life member of the Carthage VFW and Carthage American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries. /ppShe is survived by her children; James Nier, Texas, William Nier, Carthage and Eddy Nier, Harrisville. Also surviving are her siblings; Millicent Harris, Gouverneur, Mayfred Chaffee, Natural Bridge and Henry Yaddow, Carthage, along with several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews./ppA funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 9th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Champion. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, August 8th from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM./p

pChristopher J. Lawler, 43, Brown Rd., Watertown, passed away August 3, 2016 at the Samaritan Medical Center./ppChristopher was born February 22, 1973, in Watertown, a son of Carl E. and Margaret A. Pfister Lawler. In 1991, he graduated from General Brown High School and in 1995, received a bachelors of science degree in French from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. While at Dickinson College he spent his junior year in Toulouse, France studying French. Christopher worked in New York City before moving to California where he worked at Home Instead Care where he was a marketing manager. He moved back to Watertown in 2014./ppChristopher volunteered at the Covenant House in New York City, enjoyed dancing, singing and spending time with his family. He had a kind and gentle heart and will be deeply missed by his family and friends./ppSurviving besides his parents, Carl and Peggy, are a brother Jeffrey (Janice) Lawler, PA, a sister Caitlin Lawler, VA, a nephew, Jackson Lawler, a niece, Gracyn Lawler, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends./ppThere will be no calling hours or funeral service. pWoodlands, Texas- Frank E. Wright, 89, passed away in The Woodlands, Texas on Tuesday, July 26th, 2016. Born in Watertown, New York on September 17, 1926, he was the son of Simeon M. and Vera B. (nee Rathbun) Wright. He was married for nearly 55 years to Shirley M. Herron who predeceased him in 2005./ppFollowing a local education Frank enlisted with the United States Navy, serving during World War II from 1944-1946 handling communication duties on a dirigible and received an honorable discharge. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was subsequently awarded his Professional Engineering license. Frank worked for many years as an engineer for General Electric in the Syracuse, New York area and completed his career at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York. After retiring, he was a resident of Port Orange, Florida for several years and then moved to The Woodlands, Texas in 2015. /ppAn avid reader, a music-lover, a recreational golfer, a collector of railroad lamps and antique clocks, Frank was a man of many interests. His engineering background gave him a solid appreciation of technology and he embraced innovations like computers, cell phones, and the Internet with enthusiasm./ppFrank is survived by his children Steven Mather Wright of The Woodlands, Texas, Karen Ann Wright of Pebble Beach, California and grandchildren Elizabeth K. Wright and Michael S. Wright./ppFollowing cremation, Frank will be buried in North Watertown Cemetery at a date and time convenient to his family. Johnson, 54, of Watertown passed away on the morning of August 3, 2016 at Samaritan Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. /ppShe was born April 28, 1962 at Mercy Hospital in Watertown to Charles & Joyce B. (Adams McIntyre) Johnson. She attended Watertown Schools. /pp Charline worked as a Job Coach for JRC, then as a Home Care Provider, caring for many developmentally disabled adults in her home, treating them as her extended family. Later she worked caring for elderly patients in their homes, cooking meals, cleaning and providing personal care….and always with a witty comment and a smile. She had a big, strong, giving heart that always put others before herself./ppShe enjoyed collecting antiques, searching for hidden treasures in shops and yard sales. She also enjoyed working with her hands “fixing things”, challenging herself to repairs something that she had never done before. /ppCharline was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Johnson, Watertown; her father Charles Johnson, Watertown; her sister, Susan (Timothy ) Beach, Lafargeville; and her brother , Steven McIntyre, Kingston, Ontario./ppShe is survived by her bothers, Glenn McIntyre and Charles McIntyre, both of Watertown; her sisters, Holly (Gary) Booth, Church Hill, Tennessee and Linda (Richard) Hayes, Watertown; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and several very special friends including: Henry and Naomi Hooker, Florida; Ray Carpenter, Watertown; and Jean Palmer, Syracuse. Her sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all who knew and loved her./ppThe family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Samaritan Medical Center; her Primary Care Physician, Dr. Roache and his staff; and Bolton’s Pharmacy /ppPer Charline’s request, there will be no calling hours. Coller was born in Canton, NY on August 12, 1943 and passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY on April 13, 2016 from complications due to a fall at her home in Newark NY./ppShirley is the daughter of Everett and Keitha (Woods) Coller. She was never married and had no children. She has six surviving siblings; Sharon Janack of Prescott Valley AZ; Barbara Alford of Madrid NY; Susan Harkins of N. Chili NY; Ronald Coller of West Chazy NY; Charlotte Coller of Titusville FL; Lorna Michie of N. Charleston SC; and several cousins, nieces, nephews & great-nieces & nephews./ppShe graduated from Lisbon Central School in 1961 and then attended Ogdensburg Business School graduating in 1962. She was employed by the Department of Social Services in Canton NY for several years. In 1969 she entered the U.S. Army at Ft. McPherson GA where she was honorably discharged in 1972. All of her career was in the clerical field. Following her U.S. Army service career, Shirley moved back to New York State residing at the Canandaigua Veterans Hospital for many years, and had to move to a senior living residence in Newark NY in her later years./ppA graveside memorial service will be held for immediate family at the North Russell Cemetery on a date to be determined. /ppWe know in our hearts that Shirley will rest in peace with our Lord in Heaven./ppBurial arrangements were made with both Leo M.
