pPatrick Delbert Marshall of Naples, Florida, returned home to the Lord on Thursday November 3, 2016 at Tidwell Hospice House of Port Charlotte. He was 59 years old. He was born on August 27, 1957 in Reno, Nevada. He attended Carthage Central High School and on June 20 1976 he married Sharon Ward of Harrisville, NY. Together they had 2 children, Amber and Hayley./ppPatrick worked as an instrumentation engineer at Georgia Pacific and dedicated himself to his family and friends. A unique soul, Patrick was a very light spirit, an amazing family man. He was a loving father and incredible grandfather who enjoyed making people laugh and feel good. He will be greatly missed. /ppPatrick is survived by his loving mother, Eudora (Dewitt) Marshall of Watertown, NY, wife Sharon Marshall of Roanoke, VA, 2 daughters, Amber (Michael) Palleschi of Naples, FL and Hayley (Travis) McCleksey, of Cartersville, GA along with 2 loving grandchildren, Tristan and Lillian Palleschi of Naples, FL. He is also survived by 2 loving sisters and 2 brothers, Sherri (Steven) Munson of Watertown, Penny (Timothy) Williams of Schenectady, NY, Edward Kendall of Wernersville, NY and Steven Marshall of Black River, NY, a brother-in-law Charles Smith of Constable, NY and several nieces and nephews. His father, Dewitt Marshall of Watertown, NY, predeceases him in death./ppA memorial service and celebration of his life, organized by his adoring family and favorite son-in-law, will be held at the United Methodist Church in Harrisville, NY on Saturday November 19, 2016. Calling hours will begin at 12pm followed by the Memorial Service at 1pm. A Christian burial at the East Pitcairn Cemetery in Pitcairn, NY will follow the services. Memorial donations may be made in Patrick’s name to the Tidwell Hospice House of Port Charlotte, FL./p

pMarilyn Hibbert Eager Hill, 90, daughter of the late AJ and Opal Hibbert of Watertown, NY died on November 10 in Sleepy Hollow, NY after a long illness. /ppArrangements are under the direction of Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, NY. /ppMarilyn was the last surviving member of seven Hibbert children. Born in Watertown, NY, Marilyn’s spent her early life in Chaumont, NY, later moving back to Watertown and spending summers at their cottage in the Thousand Islands. /ppMarilyn graduated from Watertown High School in 1944 and from Russell Sage College in 1948 with a degree in Physical Education. /ppFollowing graduation, she and her college roommate applied for jobs in Yakima, Washington. They boarded a train with skis in hand and headed for the western frontier. To pay for lift tickets they volunteered for the Ski Patrol. She recalled that their food consisted primarily of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Marilyn was living her dream. /ppIn 1950 Marilyn met and then married Henry (“Hank”) Eager, also of Watertown. The couple made their home in Watertown where they had two children, Tom and Mary Ann. In 1956, Hank was transferred to New York City, and the young family moved to Hastings-on- Hudson, NY where they resided for 27 years. Marilyn taught physical education part time, was very involved in church and community activities and became an active member of the Ardsley Curling Club. During this time, Marilyn took up quilting which became her passion for the rest of her life. In 1983, Marilyn and her husband retired in Watertown, spending happy summers together at their cottage in Chaumont, NY. Marilyn and a group of like-minded women began the North Country Quilt Guild. Marilyn would rise before the sun and retreat to her quilting room. In the last 30 years of her life she made countless quilts and wall hangings, giving many as gifts to her children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. /ppAfter Henry died in 2004 Marilyn became reconnected with Robert Hill of Irvington, NY. Marilyn and Bob were married in 2005. The couple resided at Kendal-on- Hudson, a retirement community in Sleepy Hollow, NY./ppMarilyn is survived by her husband Bob, her son Tom (Betsy), of Sunset, Texas and her daughter Mary (Jim) Cline, of Hamilton, Montana, her four grandchildren, Tristan and Kevin Eager, who reside in Texas, and Jenna Clark (Brandon) and Jon Koch (Jackie), of Baltimore. /ppCalling hours will be held at the Cleveland Funeral Home at 404 Sherman Street, Watertown, NY on Sunday, November 13th between the hours of 5 and 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday November 14th at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church at 403 Washington St, Watertown, NY. Fregoe, 86, of Town Line Road, Massena passed away on November 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice./ppBorn on December 29, 1929 in Massena, NY, the son of the late Harold and Gertrude Brothers Fregoe. He married Bertha J. Posewitz on September 13, 1952 at St. Lawrence Church with Rev. Wilfred Nugent presiding. Bertha passed away on January 18, 2016./ppHe attended Sacred Heart School, Massena and served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. He worked at Alcoa from 1948 to 1956. He owned and operated Fregoe Farms dairy farm on the Town Ridge Road in Louisville for over 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 79, The Disabled American Veterans and The Amvets Post 4, all in Massena./ppElwood is survived by three sons, Michael and Patricia of Warrenton, MO, Patrick and Arlene of Louisville, Bruce of Massena, and two daughters Connie Fregoe of Lacona, Lori and James Nevers of Watertown. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two brothers Kenneth Fregoe and Earl Fregoe of Massena and a sister, Rowena Tyo of Tennessee. Chatelain, age 83 and formerly of the Oswegatchie Trail, Star Lake, NY, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, November 12th at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY./ppHe was born on December 2, 1932 to Percy Chatelain and Sophie Boileau in Newton Falls, NY. He married Elsie A. Kerr on September 6, 1952./ppLeo served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. He then worked at the Newton Falls Paperwork Mill as an instrument technician, retiring in January of 1993./ppLeo was a member of the American Legion Post 1539, the Knights of Columbus, and the St. Hubert’s Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends./ppAmong his survivors include: his wife, Elsie, 3 sons; Mark (Debbie Harris) of Bradenton, FL, Philip (Rebecca LaBour) of Big Piney Wyoming, and Michael (Jody Hughes) of Bloomington, Indiana, 2 daughters; Marsha (Edwin Cooney) of Liverpool, NY and Lynn (Christopher Marchant) of Baldwinsville, NY. Leo is survived by his brother, Maurice Chatelain of Star Lake, NY and by his sister, Cecile Hosmer of Watertown, NY. Among his survivors also include 11 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren./ppLeo is predeceased by his parents, Percy and Sophie, by his brother, Donald (Jeannette) Chatelain, and by his sister Eileen (Carroll) LaDuc. She and her husband owned and operated a farm in Hermon and later moved to the Village of Hermon for many years. She attended the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital School of Nursing and relocated to Tupper Lake where she worked at Sunmount Hospital while attending the Adirondack Community College and received her further degrees. He was retired from Crucible Steel in Syracuse, NY. Anthony was a former US Marine. He was an amateur boxer and played semi-professional football for the Watertown Red and Black. Eleanor graduated Davis High School in 1944. She married Raymond V. Kelly on April 3, 1948 at St. Ursula Church in Mt Vernon, NY. Raymond died January 11, 1987. /ppEleanor is survived by 5 of her 6 children, James Kelly, Adrienne (& Jeffery) Rule, Raymond (& Sherry) Kelly Jr., George Kelly, Loretta (& John) Messano. A daughter, Kelly “Ellen” Raison died February 25, 2006. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. /ppBefore retiring, she worked as a bookkeeper, secretary & switchboard operator. She moved from her longtime home in Yonkers, NY to Syracuse, NY in 1994 where she lived until 2015. She was active in the Onondaga Senior Center serving as treasurer and participating in activities and bridge games as often as she could. The family moved to the Morley-Lisbon Road and operated the farm until 2005. /ppOn December 23, 1954, Ed married Bethany J. Poor in the Methodist Church in Canton. They were married nearly 62 years, and enjoyed traveling with their children throughout the United States. Ed also enjoyed history, photography, and railroading./ppEd was a member of the Morley Volunteer Fire Department for 59 years, and served as chief for 5 years. He was a member of the St. Lawrence County Fire Chiefs, a Life Member of the Northern New York Fireman’s Association, and a member of the NYS Fire Chief’s Association. Ed was a Special Deputy with the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department for 45 years, and an Assistant Scout Master. He also served on the Canton School Board for 10 years./ppSurviving are his wife, Bethany Nelson, of Lisbon; a daughter, Linda J. Nelson of Amherst; a son, Robert E. Casselberry, 67, of 44063 Terrace St., Natural Bridge, died at home on Sunday, November 13, 2016, where she had been under the loving care of her family and Jefferson County Hospice./ppBorn February 3, 1949 in Rochester, NY, a daughter of Leslie and Emily Seibert Scanlon, she was educated in schools in Oklahoma and Arkansas. /ppShe married William Casselberry in 1974 in California. Mr. Casselberry died in 1998./ppFor many years, Janet worked as an operator for a telephone answering service in California, as a Manager for K-Mart Department Store, and as a Homecare Adult Care Giver, both in Auburn, Washington. After moving back to New York State, she went to work in 2005 as a cashier for P&C Grocery Store in Carthage, from where she retired in 2011./ppAn avid traveler, she loved trips to the Old Forge and Lake Placid areas, and especially to the western part of the country. She also enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, computer games and particularly long hikes anywhere near water./ppShe is survived by her fiancé, Kenneth D. Graves, of Natural Bridge; a daughter, Anita K. Casselberry, and her son, Thomas E. pWilliam Paul Plante, 58, of Watertown, passed away on November 13, 2016 while surrounded by his family. William, the son of Paul William and Phyllis Burns Plante, was born in Watertown on November 29, 1957. On December 30, 1983, he married the love of his life, Judith Lynn Coleman, at Holy Family Church. /ppWilliam was a 1976 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central High School, Watertown and received a B.S. in Environmental Studies in 1984 from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University. William often volunteered his time to support his local community and church. He recently received the Friends of IHC School Award in recognition for his hard work and dedication to IHC. He had previously served on the school boards of Holy Family and IHC as well as the Board of Directors for the Thompson Park Conservancy. He also spent many years organizing and coaching youth lacrosse in the area. /ppHe is survived by his wife, Judith and the following children: Ryan William (Alexandra), Brooklyn, NY; Kyle Paul, Syracuse, NY; Aimée Elisabeth, Saratoga Springs, NY; and Cole Michael, Watertown, NY and one beautiful grandchild, Grace Coleman Plante. Also surviving him are his mother, Phyllis Plante, Watertown, siblings Steven (Karyn), Fayetteville; John, Watertown; Nancy Martel (David), Watertown; mother and father-in-law Michael and Virginia Coleman; brothers-in-law Michael Coleman (Lisa), Harlem, GA; Kenneth Coleman (Shawn), Harlem, GA; Alan Coleman (Kathy), Harlem, GA; Kevin Coleman (Jill), Grovetown, GA; and multiple nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. pCARTHAGE – Julie A. Farney, 39369 NYS Route 26, passed away at her home on Sunday morning, November 13th, 2016, under the care of her family and friends. /ppBorn on May 1, 1953 in Carthage, the daughter of Odle Garreffa and Veronica Fuller and the late Lawrence Fuller. She married her longtime companion, Bruce F. Farney on May 8th, 1999. /ppJulie loved taking care of everyone and didn’t want anything in return. She loved playing Cashword scratch off tickets, bingo, puzzles, playing games on her computer and going to the casino. She enjoyed going to karaoke with her husband Bruce and mingling with people. She loved spending time with her family and playing Yatzee with her best friend of many years, Emma Tyler./ppShe was a wonderful daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Julie was a very strong and positive woman and wanted nothing from anyone, but gave the world to everyone. Words cannot express how much joy she gave to everyone and she was very loved by everyone who knew her; she will be missed immensely. /ppShe is survived by her husband, Bruce, her mother, Veronica Fuller, a son, Danny Davis and his wife, Renee, a daughter, Lisa DeLosh, a son, Ricky Farney and a step daughter, Angela Ramsey. Also surviving are her grandchildren Tyler Ritz, Sahrae Ganter and her husband, Nick, Jacob Kilbourn, a great granddaughter, Isabella Ritz and several nieces and nephews. Other family members include her sister and late brother in law, Barbara and Gary Guyette, a brother and his wife, Paul & Sharon Fuller and her late brother Clarence “Sonny” Pickering and his wife Connie Pickering./ppA funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 17th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St, Carthage, with the Rev. He then was head chef at Michelle’s Fine Dining located at the Carriage House in Watertown and later became head chef and kitchen manager at Texas Road House. pClayton- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia M. (Recor) Higgins, age 78, on Friday, Nov. 11th, after a long, brave battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side./ppThe Funeral will be held at 11am Friday, Nov. 19th, at the River Community Church. Calling hours will be held Thursday, Nov. 18th, from 4-7pm, at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton./ppOne of nine children of Howard and Florence (O’Donnell) Recor, she was born in Carthage, N.Y. in 1938. Her family later moved to a farm in Clayton, where she attended Clayton High School./ppShe married Walter Adams, which ended in divorce, and together they have one daughter, Darcy (Donnie) Garnsey. Later she married George (Charlie) Higgins at the Methodist Church in LaFargeville in 1964. Together they have three daughters, Sherri (Larry) Martin, Sally (Scott) Beeles, and Cindy (Jerry) Vecchio./ppPat owned and operated Yazell’s Restaurant on Rte. 12, near Alexandria Bay for over 30 years. At the same time she operated The Guzzle in T.I. Park on Wellesley Island for 12 years. She endeared herself to many of the “park” kids who worked for her and she loved them all. If that wasn’t enough, Pat, along with her good friend Bonnie Small had a catering business where they catered for the T.I. Bridge Authority. She also had the pleasure of meeting many celebrities while she catered many events for the D.P.A.O. and Joe Rich. Pat bowled for many years and attended numerous tournaments. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren./ppPat taught many how to cook and gave many teenagers their first job. She was known for telling you the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not. pBrasher Falls- Mr. Wade S. Reynolds, 92, passed away Tuesday October 25, 2016, at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena comforted by the support and care of his niece and nephew Joyce and Keith Wilkins. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. /ppWade was born on December 14, 1923 in Providence, RI., to the late Leon and Carolyn (Steenburg) Reynolds. He graduated from the Brasher-Stockholm High School in 1942. After graduation Wade served his country in the US ARMY, earning an honorable discharge in 1945./ppOn May 29, 1946 Wade married Margaret Wilkins at the Holy Cross Church in Hopkinton. They shared a blessed and dedicated union of 67 years. Margaret passed away on December 8, 2013. /ppFor many years Wade worked maintenance at Immaculate Heart Central School in Watertown. /ppWade is survived by his 2 children: Miles (Deborah) Reynolds of Orman Beach, FL., and Mary Jo Reynolds of Watertown, 2 grandchildren: Colleen (Clinton) Lewis, and Patrick (Claudia) Reynolds, 2 great-grandchildren: Cailin Lewis and Colin Lewis, and devoted caretakers, his niece and nephew Joyce and Keith Wilkins of Brasher Falls. /ppHe was predeceased by his brother Robert Reynolds and his sister Carole Jackson. /ppAfter his beloved Margaret passed, Wade spent many hours at Joyce and Keith’s where he had his own vegetable garden. He shared much of his produce with friends at LBSH in Brasher Falls. He spent many hours working with Keith in the woodshop, building birdhouses, and working on his much loved steel guitars. /ppWade would sit and watch the birds and animals for hours, always available with his wit, wisdom and advice, which was priceless because of his many years and experiences in life. He was an absolute treasure to visit with. He loved tractors and cars; he may not have remembered your name but he would always remember the car you drove as, “The Chevy Girl” at Highland Nursing Home can attest to, right to the very end. /ppThe advice on flower gardening, memories of long rides, fishing trips, many lunch’s together, and manicures and pedicures on the patio will be cherished forever, but Wade’s ability to really listen and enjoy anyone’s life story will be greatly missed. /ppA special Thank You, to the Nurses and CNA’s at Highland Nursing Home, many of you, and you know who you are, went above and beyond with the care, compassion and love you gave Wade. His family will be forever grateful for the time you all spent with him, just listening and being listened to. /ppFollowing Wade’s wishes there will be no calling hours. pVirginia (Ginny) Mary Reed Howell, 89, daughter of the late Merritt E. and Laura A. Reape Reed of Lyons Falls, NY passed away on Nov. 13 at River Hospital in Alexandria Bay, where she had been a patient for the past two weeks./ppA funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Deacon James Chaufty officiating. Burial will follow in Old Glendale Cemetery, Glenfield. No calling hours will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lowville VFW Post #6912, 7752 W State St., Lowville, NY 13367 or the Lyons Falls Fire Department, 3907 High St., Lyons Falls, NY 13368./ppBorn in Croghan, NY on June 10, 1927, Ginny was the oldest of six children and graduated in 1945 from Lowville Free Academy. She continued her education at Amendola School of Cosmetology in Utica, NY and graduated in 1947. She developed a career as a teacher’s aide for the South Lewis Central School District in 1967, until her retirement in 1987. Ginny was a member of the Lyons Falls Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the Lowville VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Lyons Falls./ppOn February 24, 1949 Ginny married Varian (Hank) H. Howell in a ceremony held at St. Peter’s Church in Lowville, NY, officiated by Monsignor Hogan. The couple built their home on Laura St. in Lyons Falls, NY where they raised their five children. She had a fierce love for life and for her family. Ginny was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was proud of her Irish heritage and had a wonderful sense of humor. Known for her sharp memory, she would often share jokes with colleagues, family, friends, and anyone who would lend an ear. She always looked forward to playing Euchre at family gatherings and was an avid sports enthusiast, especially college football. Knitting dishcloths was her favorite pastime and Ginny loved to give them to family members, neighbors, and those who touched her life in some way. She was usually the first one to arrive at a neighbor or friend’s home with a homemade casserole or pie and a kind word at a time of need or the loss of a loved one. Having a tender heart, Ginny also contributed often to numerous charitable causes. She had a strong Christian faith and totally believed in the power of prayer. /ppGinny is survived by her husband of 67 years, Varian (Hank) Howell, two daughters, Kathy (Ron) Tepfenhart of Brownville, NY and Judy (Ron) Gilligan of Adams Center, NY and two sons, Rich (Renda) Howell of Clermont, FL and Bob (Tammy) Howell of Orlando, FL. Ginny is also survived by two sisters, Shirley (Hugh) Wood of Lowville, NY and Betty Widrick of Croghan, NY as well as a brother, Walter (Steve) Reed of Richland, NY. She has 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a daughter, Madonna, a son, Doug, her parents, Merritt E. and Laura A. Thompson, 2 sons, Louis Chip Stella of Andover, MA and Jonathan A. Stella of Carmel, CA; 2 daughters, Carolyn R. Stella and her husband Jeremiah Holt of Berwick, ME and Hallie H. Thompson and her husband Thomas Zack Taylor of York, ME; 7 grandchildren, Madalyn, Griffin, Samuel, Charlotte, Cameren, Brady and Mia; a brother Scott Fiorentino and a sister Suzanne Mosher predeceased her.
