pMichael V. Parody, of Aynor, SC, died on Wednesday, November 2nd, at Grand Strand Medical Center. He was 63. Mike was born on January 4, 1953 in Watertown, NY. In 1973, he married Karon Fisher, and together they had 2 children, Andrew and Rebecca, but Mike’s role as a father did not end there. Mike and Karon took in their niece and nephew, Matt and Ginger Vaadi, in 2004 as legal guardians. Mike also played the role of father for his two granddaughters, Mikenna and Shayla Hayes. Mike worked at Pepsi in Conway, SC, retiring in 2015. A unique soul, Mike was very funny and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He dedicated his entire life to serving others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mike is survived by his wife Karon; his four children - Rebecca, Ginger, Andrew and his wife Careylynn, Matt and his wife Katie; six grandchildren Amy-Elizabeth, Michael, Mikenna, Shayla, Colt, and Elle; three brothers - Oscar, Carl, and Bernard; and his friends and extended family. She was a member of the Norfolk Wesleyan Church and Dorothy enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Dorothy found her true enjoyment came with spending time with her family and friends that she made throughout her many years in the community and lately, at the Highland Home in Massena. She began work at the Moongate Nursing Home in Canton, the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, Dr. Lizardi’s office in Potsdam and her last employment with CPH at the Norfolk Community Health Center./ppAs many of her close family and friends could see, Tim was her rock, her inspiration and her balance. A kind soul who enjoyed caring and being around animals, cooking, crocheting and traveling to visit her sister Kimmy and brother-in-law Jamie and their girls. Her cravings for Starbucks Coffee was apparent by the ones that knew her best and could not get enough of it with when traveling to Pittsburgh with her niece’s Kenzie and Jamie. Coffee and cigarettes were typically shared alongside close friends and family sitting on the family porch and held over great and cherished conversations./ppShelly was a proud grandmother, known as “Bama” and loved taking care of her beloved “Meme” at the time of Shelly’s passing. Another great joy, was being a second mom to both Kaylee and Kyle Whalen./ppShelly is survived by her loving husband, Timothy J. French and their beautiful children, Timothy J. pNORWOOD— Retired U.S. Army Veteran Francis B. “Buzzy” Bond Jr., age 66, died on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2016, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY surrounded by family. /ppBuzzy Bond was born on November 13, 1949 in Potsdam, NY to Francis, Sr. and Elizabeth Shantie-Bond. In 1965, he joined the U.S. Army where he was assigned to Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Between 1965-1968, he was deployed to Vietnam three times, serving with Company A 1st BN 327th Airborne Infantry 101st Airborne Division. Buzzy became a highly decorated soldier, receiving many medals for his exceptional bravery and leadership skills. Those include the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star with an Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star with V Device and two Oak Leaves, Air Medal with Oak Leaf, Purple Heart with six Oak Leaves, the ARMY Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal with Clasp, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with six Stars, Vietnam Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Medal of Honor, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross, Combat Infantry Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Vietnamese Ranger Jump Wings with Gold Star, Air Assault Badge, 7 Presidential Unit Citations and the Conspicuous Service Cross of New York State. /ppBuzzy was discharged with full military honors in 1975. His commitment to brotherhood carried on through civilian life too. With nerves of steel, he joined the United Steelworkers and helped build the original 1 World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. In 1985, he enrolled at the State University of New York at Canton earning a degree in Mortuary Science. He became a Funeral Director with Buck Funeral Home and later a lock operator for the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Buzzy was a passionate volunteer life member of several organizations and clubs. Those include the 101st Airborne Association 575, VFW 1143, DAV, Purple Heart, American Legion Post 79, Legion of Valor, Master Mason of Masonic Lodge 689, 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner Media Temple and 82nd Airborne Association. /ppBuzzy is survived by his wife, Helma Bond as well as six children: Preston and Julie Bond; Jeff and Nikki Bond, Brian LaDue; Angus and Christine Ladue; Sonja Stark and Christina Stark. He will also be greatly missed by his first wife, Priscilla and a large circle of grandchildren. Buzzy is also survived by a brother Frederick; two sisters, Cheryl Terrance and Susan Bond; two half-brothers, Scott and Tom Bond and his three half-sisters, Robin Monroe, Sherry Cahoun and Tammy Dayrit. pMASSENA- Mr. John L. “Jack” Morgan, 67, of 78 Highland Ave, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 16, 2016 at his home./ppJack was born August 24, 1949 in Massena, the son of the late George F. and Mildred A. Mackey and graduated from Massena High School in 1967. On July 12, 1975, he married Joanne Gage at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Timothy Chambers, celebrating. /ppJack proudly served his country and community, serving in the US Army Reserves and Massena Volunteer Fire Department for 42 years, holding many offices including Fire Chief in 1997. Jack was a millright at Alcoa, retiring after 34 years of service. In addition, he sold cars for Massena Lincoln-Mercury and Fay Motors. After his retirement, he worked for the Donaldson Funeral Home up until the time of his death. As an avid golfer, he was a member of the Massena Country Club and enjoyed golfing on many courses around the North Country and in Florida. Jack was also a member of the Italian-American Civic Organization and was a regular at the Via Main Restaurant with his coffee and breakfast buddies. He was an avid Clarkson Hockey fan and was a handyman to many – he truly enjoyed lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Roger W. Lawrence
pRoger William Lawrence, born January 19, 1920 in Nashua NH died on November 16, 2016 at the New Hampshire Veterans Nursing Home in Tilton, NH, formerly from Merrimack, NH, is son of Doras William Lawrence and Laura Lawrence (Burelle)./ppRoger was an active Boy Scout in early years and continued the interests he developed in the scouts through his entire life: collecting stamps, coins and bird watching. He joined the National Guard Sept 30, 1939. His unit was activated, during World War II as an active unit of the U.S. Army, and sent to Australia, then to New Guinea, and then to the Philippines. He served as a Surgical Technician./ppUpon his return from military service he resumed his studies at St. Anselm College where he received his BS in biology. After meeting and marrying Theresa Janine Durocher he continued his studies for a Masters at Catholic University in Washington then his PhD at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana./ppMoving back to New Hampshire he began his career as an Associate Professor of Biology at St. Anselm College where he taught from 1953 to 1986. During this time he bought and moved into a farm house in Merrimack, NH where he raised his family and became a parishioner of Our Lady of Cedars Church in Manchester, NH and had been an active cantor. /ppThrough all these years Roger had become a very proficient bird watcher both casually and professionally. He participated in many bird counts, teaching his children along the way, taking his college students on birding trips to Florida, and even becoming a U.S. certified bird bander for research. He also spent a number of years volunteering at the Reeds Ferry Elementary School, Merrimack, NH instructing students in hawk watching which has inspired many young birdwatchers./ppIn later years, he became interested in researching family genealogy, “because I wanted to find out where my grandfather was buried.” This led him, together with other interested genealogists to form the American-Canadian Genealogical Society of Manchester, NH in 1979. Genealogical activities pre-dominated his interests through the remainder of his life./ppRoger is predeceased by his parents Doras and Laura, his youngest daughter Christine and his wife Theresa and is survived by his children: Janine Lawrence, Thomas Lawrence, Susan Lawrence, Gregory Lawrence, grandchildren Chris Anthony Cristo, Aaron Jenness, Miriam McCallum (Jenness), Danielle Lawrence Taylor, Sarah Lawrence, Eric Lawrence, Andrew Lawrence, Peter Lawrence, Anna Lawrence, Benjamin Suprenant, Renee Lawrence, Mary Lawrence, Mark Lawrence, and Nicole Lawrence; great grandchildren: Jack, Kyleigh, Nicolas, Harrison, Sadie, Claire, Zaylie, Madeline, Layla and Elias./ppRoger has been both gifted and a gift to all his family. He has shared the gifts God had given to him and in doing so has illumined all who have met and spent time with him./ppThe family of Roger wishes to thank the staff of Laurel Place and Fairview in Hudson, NH and The New Hampshire Veterans Nursing Home in Tilton, NH/ppSERVICES: There are no visiting hours. pCharlotte – Muriel Mae Wisner Delmore, 95, passed away November 16, 2016 at home. She was born on July28, 1921 in Carthage NY to the late Carl and Mildred Leila Covey Wisner. She was the third child of nine and was predeceased by her Husband William G. Delmore Sr.; siblings Benjamin W., Genevieve Wisner Bingle, Alice Wisner Eyre Oliver J., Elaine Wisner Eves, David, Paul and Richard Wisner./ppShe is survived by her sons John Woodward of Mt. Holly NC and William G. pPHILADELPHIA - Frank “Red” Robinson, 79, of Garden Rd., died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY./ppBorn on November 5, 1937 in Watertown, NY, he was a son of Raymond F. and Ruth H. Morse Robinson. He attended Antwerp and Theresa High Schools./ppAs a young man, Frank married Marlene Aldrich on September 28, 1957. She died March 18, 2010./ppHe was employed as a meat cutter for four years at Kurt Mill’s Meat Market and Cappellino’s Meat Market Groceries. After 1959 he was employed at St. Joe’s Zinc Mine and in 1965 at Gouverneur Talc Mines. In 1969 he joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenter’s and Joiner’s of America. In 1980 he was a NYS Certifiede Welder by Local #278, Watertown, NY./ppFrank was a member of the Indian River Baptist Church, Philadelphia, NY, Philadelphia Fireman’s Auxilary, Oxbow Fire Department, Philadelphia Civic League and Philadelphia Zoning Board and Fire Inspector./ppHe was an avid bowler and enjoyed Bingo./ppSurvivors include four sons and and three daughters-in-law, Stanley Robinson, Watertown, NY, Howard and Mary Robinson, Philadelphia, NY, Larry and Tracy Robinson, Philadelphia, NY, Leslie and Rhonda Robinson, Philadelphia, NY; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Laurie and Greg Delles, Philadelphia, NY, Linda and Bryan Shorkey, Philadelphia, NY and Lisa Hull and her companion, Norman Woodcock, Natural Bridge, NY; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madeline Drake and Patsy Randall, both of Philadelphia, NY; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Raymond Robinson and Guy and Linda Robinson, all of Brownville, NY; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins./ppHis parents, his wife Marlene, siblings, Lyall Robinson, Mazola Dollinger, Ralph Robinson, Beverly Bates, Shirley Jean Robinson, John Robinson, Joseph Robinson and Lynn Robinson all died before him./ppThere will be a Memorial Service at 1 pm Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Indian River Baptist Church, 42 Main Street, Philadelphia, NY with Deacon Gene West, officiating.
