pHelen M. Kobelski 90, of Oakdale died Sunday Nov. 6, 2016 in Mystic. She was born in Deferiet NY daughter of the late Delbert and Alice (Moxley) Backus. In 1946 she married Max A. Kobelski who predeceased her. She was employed at the Holy Ghost Convalescent Home in Uncasville as well as Greentree Manor in Waterford. She also was a CCD teacher at St. John’s Church in Uncasville. She joined the Chesterfield Fire Company in 1946 where she was a lifetime member. Helen was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary in Montville and participated in the Montville Fall Festival. For her community involvement with Little League, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts, she was given an Appreciation & Dedication Award from the town of Montville. She will fondly be remembered for her love of playing bingo. Her surviving relatives include Michael and Joanne Kobelski of Tampa FL, Maxine Liparulo, and Gary and Rose Kobelski all of Oakdale. She also leaves 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son in law Ronald Liparulo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday Nov. 10, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. John’s Church Uncasville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Uncasville.
