pCraig S. Thomas of Syracuse passed away December 2nd at the age of 54 surrounded by family./ppCraig worked at the CNYDDSO for 27 years, a job he loved. Craig considered the individuals he cared for as family and they loved him too. Craig was also a proud veteran after serving in the U.S. army for five years and was a volunteer firefighter in the Clay Fire Dept. for several years. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1944 and the Watertown Business School in 1946./ppShirley worked at Agricultural Insurance Co. in Watertown and later worked at Empsall’s Dept. Store; retiring in 1960. /ppShe married Clarence O. Mitchell on October 20, 1946 at the Dexter Presbyterian Church. The couple lived in Dexter where they were also foster parents for over 16 years. Clarence passed away in 2005./ppShirley was a member of the Dexter Presbyterian Church; where he taught Sunday School. She loved her cats, flower gardening, nature walks and crafts. She was also president of Dexter Free Library for 15 years./ppShe is survived by a daughter Melinda and granddaughter Kristine addresses unknown, over 16 foster children and several nieces and nephews./ppThere will be no calling hours or public funeral. Geraldine was a member of both the NY Telephone Pioneers and the Italian American Club Ladies Auxiliary. Her enjoyments included knitting, crocheting, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and gardening. She especially enjoyed hosting parties at her home, particularly around the holidays, and playing in the pool with her grandchildren. /ppAlong with her loving husband of 61 years, Geraldine is survived by her son, Michael A. Lettiere, Sr., his wife, Kathleen B., of Watertown and their children, Michael Jr., Kristan, Bradley, and Lauren; her daughter, Carla L. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, Rick signed up as a flight medic in the ARMY Reserves. Rick attended Clarkson University and SUNY Canton getting a degree as a Medical Technician, working at Canton-Potsdam Hospital and at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. Later, he became a deputy for the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, retiring due to injury. On October 1, 1988, Rick married Sandra Butler-Miller at the Canton United Methodist Church and later at St. Mary’s Church./ppRick was a past member of Canton Fire and Rescue where he was a Level III Critical Care EMT, he enjoyed wood working, Guinness and history, and he was an avid reader. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping and taking an occasional trip to the casino. Inez was a woman of faith, attending church for many years at the United Methodist Church in Norwood. They were attended by Mr. & Mrs. Vincent Jowett./ppMrs. O’Neill was a past officer and life member of Mt. Morris/Whiteface Chapter- Order of the Eastern Stars.
