Lois Perkins

Lois Perkins, 89, Canton formally of Potsdam, peacefully passed away Thursday evening, May 19, 2017 at United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton.

Lois was born on June 5, 1927 in Potsdam, NY the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Mullin) Perkins. She graduated from Potsdam Central School and later attended Potsdam State. She married John Andricot Sr. July 30, 1949. John passed away in 1999. Lois worked for the Ney York Telephone Company for 5 years before leaving to raise her children. Ms. Perkins was a past president to the Potsdam Women’s Republican Club, lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam along with the Alter Rosary Society, taught Catechism classes for 23 years and a communicant for over 60 years.

Lois is survived by her two sons; John Andricot Jr of Potsdam and Stephen and Susan Andricot of Florida, sisters; Marjorie Beigel of Rochester, Ruth Carmichael of Tupper Lake and Irene Murphy of Potsdam and a brother Robert Perkins of Syracuse along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois is predeceased by a sister Katherin Schwarczkopf, four brothers; Lawrence, Lloyd, Bernor and Kenneth.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 23rd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam. Funeral will be held on Wednesday May 24th at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church Potsdam with Rev. Howard Vennett and Rev. Stephen Rocker co-officiating.

Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Potsdam.

Robert E. Jones born in Fine, New York April 14, 1937 was a resident of Harrisville, New York until 2005.He relocated to Oklahoma City until his death May 16, 2017. Robert is survived by his children, Tracy Jones of Choctaw, Ok. Bobbi Warden of Santa Margerita, Ca. Jeff Jones of Gouverneur N.Y. Thomas Jones of Yukon, Ok. He has 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Robert P. Gillespie, 90, of Calcium, passed away Wednesday evening on May 17th at the Samaritan Medical Center following a brief illness.

A prayer service will be 9:15 am on Tuesday, May 23rd at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home followed by a 10 am funeral mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Jonas Tondayu officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, May 22nd from 4 pm – 8 pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.

Robert is survived by three sons Timothy (Kathy), Stafford; Patrick (Nancy), Rochester; Michael (Joni), Dexter; four daughters Margaret (Marshall) Beck, The Villages, FL; Carol Gillespie, San Francisco, CA; Joan Burke, Syracuse; Laura Gillespie, Calcium; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother Thomas (Terry), FL and Henderson Harbor; one nephew.

He was predeceased by his wife Patricia M. in 2007, a son Ronald P. in 2003, a daughter Janet in 1956 and a sister Mary in infancy.

Robert was born in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania in 1927, a son to Frederick and Anna Rossini Gillespie. He was educated at schools in Baltimore, MD and Manhattan, NYC. He was a veteran of WW II enlisting in 1944. He served in the South Pacific with the 40th and 7th Divisions.

Following his honorable discharge from the military, Robert worked for the New York Telephone Company as a lineman for 30 years, retiring in 1977. He then went to work at Fort Drum as a civilian employee electrician for several years.

Robert married Patricia Loftus at St. Patrick’s Church, November 19, 1949. Mr. and Mrs. Gillespie spent many winters in Florida. Mrs. Gillespie, a retired Post Master at the Calcium Post Office, passed away December 7, 2007.

Mr. Gillespie owned and operated a Herford cattle farm and held his private pilot’s license. He was a member of Our lady of the Sacred Heart Church and the Dudes and Darlins Square Dance Club with his wife for many years. He was a member and former fire commissioner of the Calcium Fire Department and a Boy Scout Troop 38 leader for many years. Robert was a member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), flying locally and cross country.

Chanchal Singh

Dr. Chanchal Singh, 83, of 38 County Rte 29, Canton, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 12, 2017, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Shaili and Judy Singh of Potsdam, with his children at his bedside.

Dr. Singh was born April 9, 1934, in Singapore, the son of Kishan Singh & Chanan Kaur Sahota. He was a 1956 graduate of Punjab University, India. He completed a Masters of Economics in India. He furthered his graduate mathematics studies at the University of California, Berkeley before completing his Masters of Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1966. Finally, he earned both a Masters and a Ph.D. in Statistics from Florida State University, the latter in 1972.

On August 22, 1966, he married Gursharan Kaur Sachar in Ann Harbor, MI. The couple raised and nurtured two sons and a daughter. The marriage ended in divorce after 37 years of marriage. Despite divorcing, the two remained close friends and confidants until his passing.

Dr. Singh was an educator, starting with SUNY Potsdam, where he was an assistant Professor in Mathematics from 1966-69. From 1972-2003 he was employed at St. Lawrence University as Professor of Mathematics. While at SLU, he served as Chairman of the Math Department and was Editor of Mathematics journals and books.

He is survived by his loving children, Harpal (Sharmin Ahmed) Singh of Oakville, ON, Shailindar (Judy) Singh of Potsdam and Amrit Michelle Singh of Albany; one half-brother, Darshan Singh of CA and a half-sister of India. He is also survived by six grandsons, Samir & Anis Singh of Oakville, ON, Kieran & Colin Singh of Potsdam and Naveen & Sohan Rutty of Albany.

Some of Dr. Singh’s interests and hobbies were: gardening, writing short stories (he was a member of the Canton Free Library Writer’s Group), meditation, cooking, “character building” with his children, wood-working, stained glass, making apple cider and watching Indian films. Most precious of all was time spent with family and friends.

In keeping with his religious beliefs, there will not be any calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17th at 2 pm in St. Lawrence University’s Gunnison Chapel with a reception to follow. Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services are handling arrangements.

Elizabeth Ann Jerome, age 80 of Potsdam, NY passed away on Thursday, May 18th at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Ogdensburg, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at 11am at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Stephen Rocker celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam, NY. Liz is survived by her sister Hilda Keleher; her brother George (Isabelle) Jerome and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Bill and Mervin Jerome and his sisters Marion Haywood and Alberta Hoyt.

Liz was born February 1, 1937 in Potsdam, New York to Ernest (Mike) Jerome and Dora Price. She was a 1955 graduate of Potsdam Central School. She went to airlines stewardess school in Plattsburg, NY. She then worked for 53 years in the cafeteria at the Canton Potsdam Hospital retiring in 2010. She was an avid bowler, played softball and loved the New York Yankees especially Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams. She bowled all over and enjoyed traveling and vacations. Liz’s family would like to thank the nurses on first floor at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Ogdensburg also Missy from Hospice who loved her very much.

COLTON— Funeral services for 92 year old Grace Elizabeth Casselman will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church in South Colton with Rev. Stephen Rocker presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Mrs. Casselman passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Maplewood Campus in Canton with her family at her side.

Mrs. Casselman was born in Colton, New York on January 30, 1925, daughter of Michael Gorman and Mildred (Woods) Gorman. She graduated from Colton High School in 1942. Grace worked at the Alcoa Aluminum Plant during World War II. After the war, Grace married Robert W. Creighton on November 25, 1946 and had five children. Mr. Creighton passed away on June 16, 1984. Grace is survived by William and Marie Creighton, Albany; Suzanne (Creighton) and Daniel Smith, Sackets Harbor and Anne (Creighton) and Richard Castle, Norfolk. Grace is also survived by her six grandchildren, Sean and Meghan Castle; Sarah (Castle) and Brad Kirkey; Emily (Smith) and Nick Ziemba; Michael and Nichole Smith; Matthew Creighton and Jillian Creighton as well as her six great-grandchildren, Liam and Finnley Castle; Jack, Lila and Emma Kirkey and Samuel Ziemba.

After Roberts passing, Grace married Harold Casselman on January 10, 1987. He passed away on May 12, 2005. Two stepchildren and families survive her, Patrick and Karen Casselman, Ogdensburg and Ralph and Sheryl (Casselman) Goodwin, Ogdensburg, as well as her step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Grace is also survived by her three sisters, Mrs. Theresa (Gorman) Bercume, Mrs. Bernice (Gorman) Thomas and Mrs. Kathleen (Gorman) Hepburn all of Colton. Grace was pre-deceased by her daughter Marie Creighton, a son Wayne Creighton, a step-daughter, Diane Casselman, two sisters, Helen (Gorman) Deugaw and Margaret (Gorman) Todd and her brothers, Joseph, John, Francis and Richard (who died as a soldier in Europe in WWII). Two brothers passed away as children, Harold and Edward.

Mrs. Casselman was a lifelong member of Saint Paul and Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Parishes of South Colton and Colton respectively. She was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society along with serving as President and Vice-President over the past years. She was also active with religious Instruction for many years. Mrs. Casselman worked for a number of years for the Town of Colton Election Board and Grace was full time homemaker and enjoyed music, singing and loved to cheer on the Mets. Grace was also an accomplished cook, enjoying cooking great meals for her family and friends. Donald E. Partridge

Donald E. Partridge, 84, longtime resident of Watertown, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 17, 2017.

Calling hours will be held Noon to 2 p.m. Monday, May 22 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 North Massey Street, Watertown.

The funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the burial immediately following at the Sanford Corners Cemetery in Calcium.

Don was born on December 27, 1932 in the Town of Macomb, son of Lawrence and Louava Fleming Partridge Hill. He met Eleanor M. Wischoff of Watertown at the Carriage House where they both worked. The couple married in September of 1965.

Don was trained in the heating industry. He opened Flame Heating, a heating company, which he operated with his brother Charles, for many years. Don was proud of his reputation for providing excellent service, and came to know his customers very well. He ensured they had heat when needed, often answering calls in the middle of the night. He was a hardworking and generous man with a kind heart. On more than one occasion, Don assisted families in need at his own expense, providing parts and repairs so they would be safe and warm. Don also worked for Agway and retired in 1995 after 25 years of service.

Don loved cards, often playing marathon games for hours with his family. He enjoyed fishing for bullheads and salmon in the Black River. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and pro wrestling. Don had a wonderful laugh that made everyone around him smile. His family will remember him for his big hugs and willingness to help in any way, at any time.

Among his survivors are three daughters, Dawn Merva of Columbus, Georgia, Brenda L. Newman (Stephen) of Watertown, Sherry D Delaney (David) of Watertown, and two sons, Donald E. “Sonny” Partridge, of Tampa, Florida and Randy L. (Kimberly)Partridge of Ballston Lake, New York. Don is also survived by three brothers, Robert Partridge of Calcium, Charles (Donna) and Dalton Partridge, both of Clayton; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Don was predeceased by his wife Eleanor, who passed in 1995, a daughter Linda Kay died at birth, his brothers Lawrence “Junior” and Frederick Partridge, his son-in-law, Major Michael T. Merva and granddaughter Ashley Merva.

PARISHVILLE — Mrs. Elizabeth W. “Betty” Beha, 85, of Picketville Road, passed away Thursday evening at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Betty was born January 20, 1932 in Brushton, New York the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Young Woods. She attended local schools and graduated from Brushton High School and later from Watertown Business School. On August 22, 1959, she married George W. Beha in Brushton. He predeceased her on December 17, 1977.

Betty worked for the United States Postal Service in Parishville starting as a clerk and retiring as the Postmaster, a position she held for over 20 years. She also worked in various areas at the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School. She had previously worked for Niagara Mohawk. Betty was very community-oriented and devoted countless hours to the Parishville community as a charter member of the Parishville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Auxiliary with over 50 years of active service, a board member of the Parishville Museum, and the Parishville-Hopkinton School Board. She also was a Notary Public, an election inspector for the St. Lawrence County Board of Elections and a trustee for the Fairview Cemetery in Parishville. Betty’s Catholic faith was important to her being a longtime communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Parishville and later at St. Patrick’s Church in Colton, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Along with her community dedication, Betty enjoyed gardening, collecting stamps, scrapbooking, and could be found in her chair doing crosswords or jumbo puzzles or reading a favorite book.

Betty is survived by her four children and their spouses, Karen and Albert Leroux of Ketchikan, Alaska; Kristine and Neil Thurston of Brownfield, Maine; Frederick Beha of Parishville; and Robert and Hannah Beha of Barrington, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Sharlee, Shean, Kaleigh, Kevin, Amanda, Matthew, Kayden, and Breanna; and her great grandchildren, Ashton, Ava, Peyton, Abbygal, and Kenleigh. Also surviving Betty is her sister, Iola Raineri of Ilion, NY; her brothers and their wives, Roger and Sandra Woods of Parishville and Ira and Patty Woods of Massena; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was predeceased by a sister, Iona Woods; and two brothers, Lee and Ralph Woods.

Friends may call at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, Monday 2-4 and 7-9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 2:00 PM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Colton with Rev. Stephen Rocker, celebrating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Parishville.

WATERTOWN — Tyler James Johnson, 20, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, May 18. He was born February 9, 1997 the son of Chad Johnson and Heather Hirschey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Inc., Watertown.

Tyler attended Watertown High School and had a bright future ahead of him. hen he wasn’t working, Tyler enjoyed tubing, jet skiing, skateboarding and snowboarding. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing Playstation and Xbox games. Most of all he liked hanging out with family and friends. Tyler had a big heart and was always quick with a smile. It was evident by the smiles on his siblings’ faces when he came around how much he was loved and will be missed.

Surviving him is his father and his wife Chad and Jenna Johnson, Watertown; his mother and her husband, Heather and Denny Schneider, Watertown; 4 siblings, Seth and Lola Johnson, Nicholas Perry and Denny Snyder, all of Watertown; paternal grandparents, William (Sue) Johnson, Watertown, and Kim (Pat) Johnson, Evans Mills; maternal grandparents, Patricia (Robert) Booth, Bellville, and David (Denise) Hirschey, Watertown. Tyler also has several aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him wholeheartedly.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 24th at 11:00 am, at the Cleveland Funeral Home, 404 Sherman St. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 23 from 4-7 pm at the Cleveland Funeral Home.

Mark A. Dowling, age 60, of Oswegatchie, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2017, at Clifton-Fine Hospital. Mark is survived by three sons, Mark Cooper of Oswegatchie, Everett Dowling of Rochester, and Vincent Dowling of Parishville; his mother, Gloria M. Dowling; his brothers, Richard V. Dowling of Harrisville, NY and Thomas A. Dowling of Hannibal, NY; sisters, Susan R. Van Sant of Harrisville, NY, Alice C. Donnelly of Hudson, Florida and Sandy Q. Gunnip of Cazenovia, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by three brothers, John Dowling and Michael Dowling, in infancy, and Wendell R. Dowling, Jr.; and his father, Wendell R. Dowling.

Mark was born on November 8, 1956, in Star Lake, NY, the son of Wendell R. and Gloria M. (Luther) Dowling. He attended Clifton-Fine schools. Mark worked for Soluri Construction in his early years. He also worked in California before returning to his home in the native Adirondacks that he loved so much. He was a self-employed carpenter for the past several years.

Mark enjoyed automotive work, camping, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors.

BRANTINGHAM – Richard D. Levesque, 90, of Brantingham Road, Brantingham, passed away Friday night, May 19, 2017 in the comfort of his home and under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Brantingham Cemetery. Calling hours are from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend a gathering at the Pine Tree Inn, Brantingham, immediately following the burial. He is survived by three children, Linda and her husband Doug Smart of Dover, New Hampshire; David and his wife Mary Levesque of Sitka, Alaska; Claude Levesque and his companion Virginia of Clearwater, Florida; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Margaret Levesque of Lowville; Tom and Sue Levesque of Lyons Falls; Louis and Pat Levesque of Honeoye, NY; a sister, Patricia Watson of Glenfield; a sister-in-law, Lorene Lallier of Boonville; five grandchildren, Jeremy Smart; Carrie and her husband Stephen Portrie; Derek and his wife Amanda Levesque; Travis Levesque; Paul Levesque Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, DJ, and Grayson Levesque; and several nieces, nephews and cousins and a very large extended family on the Levesque side. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Marie who died on December 3, 2016; a son, Paul D. Levesque, who died in January of 2014; his father, Joseph Adelard Levesque and mother and step-father Julia and Pete Lallier; six brothers, Charles Levesque, Claude Levesque, Bernard Lallier, Paul Levesque, George Levesque and John Levesque; one sister, Marie L. Burnham.

Richard was born in Lyons Falls, NY on September 1, 1926, a son of the late Joseph Adelard and Julia Thiebeault Levesque. He attended school in Lyons Falls and during that time worked for the Gould family.

Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army during WWII, serving as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne. He then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. On December 26, 1951 he married Marie L. Gernard at The Cat’s Paw Hotel in Brantingham. After serving 20 years in the United States Coast Guard the family returned to Brantingham, where he worked as a custodian for Lyons Falls School, as well as a Safety Inspector/Night Watchman for Georgia Pacific in Lyons Falls until his retirement in 1970. Together with his wife they owned and operated The Country Store in Brantingham for over 50 years.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glenfield. He helped establish the 3-G volunteer Fire Department in Brantingham, and was also a member of Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 VFW.

He enjoyed foraging, tinkering, reading, history, geology, and had a passion for panning for gold. Most of all, he loved fishing.

WATERTOWN — Tyler James Johnson, 20, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, May 18. He was born February 9, 1997 the son of Chad Johnson and Heather Hirschey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Inc., Watertown.

Tyler attended Watertown High School and had a bright future ahead of him. When he wasn’t working, Tyler enjoyed tubing, jet skiing, skateboarding and snowboarding. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing Playstation and Xbox games. Most of all he liked hanging out with family and friends. Tyler had a big heart and was always quick with a smile. It was evident by the smiles on his siblings’ faces when he came around how much he was loved and will be missed.

Surviving him is his father and his wife Chad and Jenna Johnson, Watertown; his mother and her husband, Heather and Denny Schneider, Watertown; 4 siblings, Seth and Lola Johnson, Nicholas Perry and Denny Snyder, all of Watertown; paternal grandparents, William (Sue) Johnson, Watertown, and Kim (Pat) Johnson, Evans Mills; maternal grandparents, Patricia (Robert) Booth, Bellville, and David (Denise) Hirschey, Watertown. Tyler also has several aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him wholeheartedly.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 24th at 11:00 am, at the Cleveland Funeral Home, 404 Sherman St. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 23 from 4-7 pm at the Cleveland Funeral Home.

Brantingham – Susan L. Bush, 68, passed away at her home on Monday, May 22, 2017, while under the care of Lewis County Hospice and her family.

Sue was born March 18, 1949, in Adams Center to Carlton and Ruth Turner Lucas and attended a two-room school house in Barnes Corners until the 6th grade and graduated from Lowville Academy in 1967. She was married to Jack T. Bush on August 5, 1967, in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville with Msgr. Thomas Hayes and Rev. John Hayes, uncles of Jack’s, officiating. Prior to living in Brantingham, the couple made their home in Lowville for many years.

Sue was office manager for Louis Bush & Sons. She was an active member of the Lewis County General Hospital Auxiliary helping with the Holliberry Sale and being in charge of the Geranium sale. She also enjoyed golf and spending time with her granddaughters.

In addition to her husband Jack and mother Ruth of Rodman, Sue is survived by their three sons, Timothy N. (Janice) of Lowville, Michael R. and his companion, Pauline Larche of Brantingham and Ryan L. (Kim) of Manlius ; her siblings, Linda (Rob) Sharlow of Wesley Island, Joanne Lucas of Rodman, Russell Lucas and Rick (Sue) Lucas all of Barnes Corners, Randal (Teresa) Lucas of Adams Center, Lori (Dan) Vincent of Barnes Corners, Jeff (Brandy) Lucas of Adams Center and Eric (Angie) Lucas of Green Castle, PA; her granddaughters, Morgan, Tasha, Mia, Evelyn and Maren.

She was predeceased by her father, Carlton and brother Rodney Lucas.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at the Sundquist Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday, the 26th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Cararra, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Brantingham.

NORFOLK— Funeral services for 78 year old Diane M. Clark, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of Norfolk, will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 2 p.m. Mrs. Clark passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Massena Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.

Diane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald, Massena; a son, Donald and Colleen Clark, Pennellville, NY; her three daughters, Kim and Shawn Scott, Massena; Kelly Martianou, Cream Ridge, NJ; Tracy Dengle, Moorestown, NJ; her ten beloved grandchildren; Sarah and Jeremiah (Scott) Powers; Stacey Scott; Sofia, Chloe, Spiro and Talia Martianou; Timothy and Nicholas Dengle and Ryan and Emma Clark. Diane is also survived by her two brothers, Lee Clark, Massena; Arthur and Arnita Clark Jr., Norfolk; her two sisters, Lynette and Don Butler, Unadilla, NY and Lois and Vernon Singleton, Owego, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. Diane was pre-deceased by a sister Shirley O’Neil and a son-in-law, Bruce Allen Dengle.

Born at her home in Norfolk on October 29, 1938 to the late Arthur and Geraldine LaMora Clark, Diane graduated from High School and married Donald C. Clark on April 12, 1958. She worked as a homemaker and raising her family. Diane was very active for many years with the American Cancer Society, volunteering in many capacities. She was also a past Chairperson of the Norfolk Democratic Committee and worked as an election inspector for many years. Diane also had a keen eye for collecting Antique and Vintage pieces, in which she was very successful at. Diane enjoyed going to bingo, feeding wildlife in her yard and cooking, in which she truly enjoyed. Frederic (Fritz) A Dailey Sr. of Gansevoort, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday May 20th, 2017, at Wesley Health Care Center. To all those who knew him it will come as no surprise that his big heart remained strong right up until his last breath. He was 88 years old.

Born on January 22nd, 1929 in Watertown New York, he was the son of Helen M Smith Dailey.

Fred graduated from Watertown High School class of 1947. Upon graduating, he went to work as a Salesman for Buster Brown shoes in Watertown and later transferred to the Saratoga Springs area and managed Rowes, a shoe store on Broadway. He then accepted a position at Prudential Life Insurance Company, quickly becoming a million-dollar salesman. His final employment was with Macy’s where he helped to launch the Macy’s in Colonie Center. He retired in 1991.

In 1993 Frederic and his wife moved to Henderson, Nevada and lived there until returning to the Saratoga Springs area in 2013.

Fred met the love of his love, Gertrude, when he was 18 years old. They married on October 8, 1949, and spent the next 67 years dancing in each other’s arms whenever possible. He loved children and was blessed with five sons who learned generosity and unending kindness from their adored dad.

Fred was a very spiritual person and read the Bible whenever possible. He lived his beliefs – always making room at the dinner table and in his heart for anyone who crossed his path.

He was active in the Saratoga Congregational Church, Saratoga Springs Kiwanis Club, and Saratoga youth baseball. He also was a Boy Scouts Master for many years. He had a great talent for meeting new people and was widely known as the “Candyman” as he always gave those he met Werther’s candies.

He is survived by his wife Gertrude Brown Dailey of Gansevoort, NY, 5 sons, Frederic Dailey Jr. and his wife Debra of Ravena NY, David R. Dailey and his wife Francine of Moreau NY, Kevin J Dailey and his wife Susan of Penfield New York, Robert M. Dailey and his wife Donna of Millville NJ, and Christopher J Dailey and his wife Patti Croop of Middle Grove, NY, a brother, Robert I. Dailey of Henderson, NV, 9 grandchildren, Jason. Kelly, Melanie, Danielle, Michael, Jeff, Kelly, Greg, and Ryan and 12 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 on Tuesday May 23rd at the Tunison funeral home 105 Lake Avenue Saratoga Springs New York. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at St Peters Cemetery in Saratoga Springs New York.

Robert J. Kraemer Sr.

Robert J. Kraemer, Sr., of Wright Street, Adams, NY, passed away May 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Kraemer was born July 16, 1925 in Watertown, son of Joseph J. and Vera Mae McDermott Kraemer. He attended Sacred Heart and Watertown High Schools. At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the Reserves, before entering the Unites States Navy. He served 26 years, during World War II, and both, Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was honorably discharged as Chief Engineman in June of 1968. Mr. Kraemer was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 12 years retiring in 1980. He was also a rural delivery carrier for the Watertown Daily Times in Southern Jefferson County.

On May 17, 1947, he married Betty Mae Hanson at the Wedding Bell Chapel in San Diego, CA. The couple renewed their vows at St. Cecilia’s Church in Adams, NY in 1957. The couple celebrated 65 years of marriage. Mrs. Kraemer passed in November of 2012.

Surviving are two sons, Robert J. Jr., Nashville, TN, Richard J. and Sparrow, Gettysburg, PA, four daughters, Linda Colburn, Boston, MA, Patricia Kraemer, Watertown, NY, Kathleen Kraemer, Nashville TN, and Elizabeth and Richard Ryder, Adams, NY, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary E. Hastings, Carthage, NY.

Mr. Kraemer was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Watertown and St. Cecilia’s in Adams. He was a third-generation Eagles FOE member, a life member of the Northside Improvement League, South Jefferson VFW Post 5344, and American Legion Post 586 in Adams, NY. In retirement, he volunteered many years as a driver for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed delivering Christmas dinners for South Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid bowler on numerous leagues at Adams Bowling Club and South Jeff Lanes. He enjoyed gardening, completing NY Times crossword puzzles, traveling, collecting stamps and coins, reading and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the compassionate care provided to their father by home health aides, Stephanie, Cassandra, Christine, and Caitlin throughout his final months.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to7 pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 11am Wednesday May 24th at the funeral home with Reverend Jonas Tandayu officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 5344 or to the American Legion Post 586, both in Adams, NY.
